Cozy and Quiet!
We loved our stay! The cabin was so cozy, clean and had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, decor was cute and we even loved the friendly pup! We loved the little book of suggestions and history about the place. One of the best things about the place was there was absolutely no cell service and we really felt secluded! It was a great break from everyday life. Plain is a great little town with good food and a good hike up to the shrine, and we also enjoyed the other short drive to Our Lady of the Fields shrine. We loved our stay and next time will not forget our fishing rods!!!
We’ll be back!
This property is incredible. Everywhere you look is the attention to detail, the lovely and unique, setting-appropriate decor, and you feel “at home” even though you’re on vacation. The property owners clearly love their rural surroundings and invite us to do the same. An easy and scenic drive to many Wisconsin attractions. A real find.
Thank you very much for an amazing weekend! We will be back!!
Quiet rural cabin in beautiful scenery
I'm very happy to recommend this property to anyone seeking a quiet rural cabin in beautiful scenery only an hour's drive from the West side of Madison. Great for biking (lots of hills!) and fishing, too. I was really able to relax and rest here. A wonderful antidote to the stress of work and city life. There are also a variety of tourist attractions within a half hour's drive.
I would also add that the property owner, Bill, is a great guy. Really friendly and welcoming and really helpful if I needed anything. Even his dog is really friendly!
Very secluded and throughly enjoyed all the tranquility !
Relaxing, quiet, serene.
Wonderful stay! Cabin was spotless, comfortable, quiet, calm...just what we needed! They have thought of everything. Coffee maker, toaster, outdoor grill, full kitchen, blender, and more! The area is so quiet, walking trails you don't need to drive to...I can't say enough about it! Will definitely be back! Thank you so much! We already miss Rowdy!!!
We are located in the heart of beautiful Bear Valley and the confluence of five scenic drainage's. 750 acres of public land lay to the south. The remaining boundaries are surrounded by a privately owned wildlife refuge.
We are centrally located within a half hour of some of the most popular attractions of Southwest WI as well as some unique and tranquil settings within minutes.
Some of the activities that can be enjoyed from our front door are hunting, fishing, biking, motorcycling, snowmobiling, bird and wildlife watching, or just relaxing around one of our camp fires.
Also popular is the quality trout fishing available within walking distance. Trout fishing continues to get better as Bear Creek was recently improved under a stream bank improvement and trout habitat project.
Bill is a lifetime resident of the area, and as a bird and wildlife enthusiast, he can acquaint you with the numerous activities you might wish to enjoy.
To provide peace and serenity to our wildlife, we are a DRONE FREE ZONE, and have a quiet time starting at 11:00 pm.
We are a short drive from American Players Theatre, Governor Dodge State Park, Oakwood Fruit Farm, Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor’s Center, The Springs Golf Resort, Natural Bridge State Park, Our Lady of the Fields Chapel, Taliesin, Plain Westbrook Hills Golf Course, White Mound Park, Rockbridge, Hillside School, Tower Hill State Park, Hyde Mill, Unity Chapel, House on the Rock, Cedar Grove Cheese Co, Wisconsin Dells, and many other interesting tourist attractions.
