Here is a property for the person(s) who enjoys being in the woods, going for a long walks, getting on a mountain bike and enjoy a day in nature! It is located on a road less traveled. A dirt bumpy road at that! (No AWD needed, but a vehicle with plenty of clearance appreciated). So grab the family, that special someone or those great friends and drive over and enjoy a special time away! Located minutes from the Wonalancet Church. The first floor is open concept with plenty of windows. The kitchen is small but has plenty of cabinets, kitchen utensils and all the creature comforts to make a fabulous meal. Snuggle in front of the fireplace, or at the end of the day grab an ice cold drink and enjoy the peace and quiet of the area in the screened-in porch while enjoying supper on the grill. The television is for watching movies only, (no cable or phone) your cell phone may get service. My Verizon works. The kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, and electric stove. There is a queen size Murphy bed on the lower level, a full in the loft along with two twin beds. Washer and Dryer. Please feel free to bring your own linens/towels so that you wont have to do laundry as part of your check out. You may want to grab enough food for the night you arrive and for breakfast. The nearest grocery store is about 40 minutes away.
We purchased the land in 2003 and wanted to built a home where we could go to relax and enjoy my family. My husband and I have stressful careers and we wanted a place where we could enjoy our son without the distractions of the phone ringing and the television blaring. They hike, mountain bike, walk, run and used this property. It has been a great place to have 'family' time. I am happy to say that this home has allowed us to enjoy each other for who we are as individuals and as a whole. I hope you enjoy this place as much as we have and do.
Kay purchased this cottage in 2004
The minute we drove onto the lot, we knew it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the area. When we drove past the parcel, we came to the abutting property which had a mowed field and we saw the view... Mt Chocorua, Mt Passaconaway, Mt Paugus, and Mt Whiteface. We drove back to the parcel and took a walk down to the river and couldn't believe how undisturbed this area was and still is.
We live in the area and have seen so much being developed and neighborhoods being built, that this place was a refreshing reminder of 'nature' at its best.
My wife and I (and dog) stayed for a great week in the cabin in the woods. Very quiet and relaxing.
The cabin has everything that you need. We loved the screened in back porch for reading...or the third floor "tower" room in the trees. Great hiking and biking just outside the door.
Kay was great to work with and was very helpful with our questions.
Would highly recommend if you want someplace special, out of the way and quiet.
My friends and I had a really awesome three days here. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for a great vacation. It's deep in the trees, well isolated from light and noise. We felt totally escaped. It's close to white mountains and there are so many attractions. A perfect place for hikers at this time of the year. I am planning to go back at the ski season. Must be fun.
This house was beautiful with all the comforts of home. It was in a private area with lots of woods around for hanging out or walking. It is in a great location to spend the day at White Lake State Park or take a quick ride to North Conway for all it has to offer. The owner Kay was a pleasure to do business with. we would love to stay there again.
My wife and I rented this property at the beginning of October. We also had our son with us. We were very pleased to see how nice and comfortable the house is. We usually stay at Inns when we go away, but when we saw the pictures of this place we thought we would try something different. We were not disappointed. The setting is beautiful. The rooms are furnished nicely and the place was stocked with everything. The fireplace is the best as we enjoyed many nights sitting by the fire and relaxing. The place is close to Conway and Jackson if you want a break from relaxing. The owner Kay is very nice and gets back quickly with any questions you may have. Would come back again,
I rented this property for two separate occasions for family, and both times were a wonderful answer to what we needed! This is a lovely cottage, just right for anyone who loves a natural setting in the woods of NH!
My boyfriend, dog, and I stayed at this home over labor day week and it was PERFECT. The house was clean, comfortable, cozy, and stocked with everything you could possibly need. We spent 2 out of our 5 day trip in Tamworth and the surrounding towns fishing, hiking, swimming, and spending quality time together at the house. There is really no need to leave town but so much to do if you decide you want to take day trips. We hiked Mt. Chocorua (20 minute drive), shopped in N. Conway (40 minute drive), kayaked in Conway (30 minute drive), and saw some amazing waterfalls in the Bartlett/Jackson area (a little over an hour away). After our day trips it was so nice to go to the cabin, relax on the porch, have a drink, and enjoy life. The owner Kay showed the upmost hospitality and was always there to answer your questions. She was kind enough to allow us to take our dog which was so important. If you are looking to get away from it all...this is the place for you. The house was amazing and NH is a beautiful place. We can't wait to go back again!

I really love being able to get away and come to this place, it is quiet and peaceful. If you're an outdoors person, there are hiking trails right out your front door to the Wonalancet River, or take the Sanborn Brook to the waterfall. This area is great if you road bike or mountain bike, plenty of trails. A great location if you like going out for a leisure drive and want to explore down back roads. About forty minutes to North Conway for outlet shopping and fine dining. Cranmore Mountain has its own adventure park for the whole family. Head South thirty minutes and you're in the Lakes Region Area.
