Great location, cute cottage

  • 5 of 5

Cottage was ideally placed for exploring the local area, and was within an easy walk of local amenities including shops and the beach. We were made very welcome by our host and the cottage was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay, which was sadly far too short! Many thanks!

Love this cottage!

  • 4 of 5

We have stayed in this "just off the beach" beach cottage numerous times. It is quaint, well equipped and is in a great location. The backyard is private and the outdoor shower, a real plus. The owner deeply cares about this property and wants her guests to be happy. This is a place to bring your family, relax, enjoy the beach and all the Hampton's have to offer!

A little rustic

  • 3 of 5

We stayed during July. The hostess was very welcoming and accommodating, letting us tweak our stay by a day to work in the weekends. We were also able to bring our small dog.

The place is well situated in Quogue: ~ 10 min walk to local post office and market. I’ve lived and visited Quogue for the past 45 years, so can speak to central location and easy bike-riding area.

The unit is functional, with 3 decent beds, but none bigger than a double bed. Given the weather can get warm/muggy in July it was well equipped with one window A/C unit and several fans throughout.

On the downside: the place could be more bug-proof by better sealing the floor boards. The flooring was weak and breaking through in a couple of spots. The shower is outside – which worked just fine, but you should be prepared to make sole use of that. Call it a string of bad luck, but during our 2 week stay the dryer failed, the washer over-flowed, the toilet over-flowed and leaked from the bottom and the fridge conked out twice. Given we were paying for a month’s stay, but only stayed 2 weeks, one would have thought we would have gotten some of the exorbitantly high utility bill refunded, but no ( I have family that lives in a similar but larger unit in Quogue, so I know what the utility costs are).

About Linni

I fell in love with Quogue in the 1970s and spent my summer's out from New York City renting this very same beach cottage! I loved it so much that when the property went on the market I had to buy it. I now live year round in the home on the front of the property but still rent out the private cottage in hopes that others can enjoy this beautiful beach community and getaway as much as I have. My daughter now assists me with updating the space and online bookings. Please feel free to reach us with any questions about our listing. We'd love to hear from you!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our cottage is in tip top shape. All complaints last July were delt with in a speedy manor (immediately) and this tenant signed a lease for a month. The Augest tenants were happy and this review does not reflect our rental happiness in the past thirty years.

The village of Quogue requires a 2 week minimum on summer seasonal rental properties. Though I cannot rent for less than that time, I will be willing to discuss a rate discount if you will not be present the full duration of the lease stay.

A standard form lease and village rental application will be emailed for you to sign. (The $125 Property fee covers this application.)

With your lease you are able to receive a beach pass to the beautiful Quogue Village Beach for the duration of your stay! (Walk/bike passes are $12/person and are good for the duration of your stay, car passes are $240 and include entry for 2 people for the duration of your stay.)

Damage deposit will also be required. This will be returned within 14 days of lease termination.

There is no pet fee, we love and welcome all pre-approved pets! However, if you do not pick up after your pet, a $50 charge will be deducted from the damage deposit.

There is no smoking inside the premise in order to keep it smelling clean and fresh for the enjoyment of all all future guests.
