|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Welcome to your sunny, stylish home in the heart of Hollywood. You can walk to theatres, restaurants, clubs, and classic landmarks like the Hollywood Bowl, Kodak Theater, and Magic Castle from this gorgeous chateau duplex 1-Bedroom apartment in historic Hollywood Heights.
This large, 1925 house has been tastefully divided into three separate, private apartments, one of which we are offering as a furnished 1BR getaway. Nestled in the back of a tree-lined cul de sac, you’ll find it has a surprisingly quiet, natural feel for its central, Hollywood Hills location. Incredibly convenient if you are visiting or working in Burbank, Studio City, or NoHo, and a quick ride to downtown too.
The space itself is amazing. The living room has an almost cathedral-like feel – huge and sunny with a double-height barrel ceiling, giant windows and hardwood floors. On clear days (which is almost every day in Southern California!), sunlight floods the room and makes for a truly wonderful place to relax or tweak your screenplay. The apartment is stylishly furnished and includes both wireless internet and a 37” LCD HDTV flat panel TV and DVD player. The open kitchen has everything you need to cook at home – including a microwave, four-burner gas stove, coffeemaker and toaster – and enjoy your meal at the adjacent dining table with seating for four.
In the bedroom you’ll find a new, queen-sized bed with fresh cotton sheets and a fluffy comforter. The elegant, modern Design Within Reach couch in the living room also folds down into a bed, which can sleep two additional guests.
We went the extra mile to add a few reflections of our own passions (design, film, literature, music) so you’ll find nice touches like framed Nama Rococo French Dot Wall Paper and Blik wall murals in addition to selection of well-chosen books, films, and music to help you feel inspired.
Bring your morning cup of coffee out onto the large patio, surrounded by greenery.
An off-street parking space is included (though be aware that a large truck or large SUV may not fit easily in the spot, in which case we can lend you a parking pass that will allow you to park on the street in front) .
No smoking in the unit – please keep it limited to outside onto the patio.
Do note that there is a flight of stairs from the driveway up to the front door of the house, and a small set (7 stairs) within the apartment.
Please also note that Los Angeles Hotel Tax (TOT) of 14% is applicable on all stays of 30 days or less. Stays of 31 days or longer are NOT subject to tax.
We (the owners) live in a separate apartment in another part of the house, and are happy to help with directions or suggestions to make your stay a great one. Oh, and did we mention the amazing location?

We are a writer and a composer who have lived in LA for a combined 26 years, so we can tell you everything from the best place to get a Thai massage to our favorite secret beach (shhh!). We love to travel, and prefer to stay in homes rather than hotels - so we enjoy creating a hospitable place for you to stay.
Jamie purchased this apartment in 2003
We live here too, and we love it. A quiet oasis, even as you are in the middle of - and close to - everything.
We are a short walk away from the Kodak Theater - home of the Academy Awards - so if you are nominated, you can skip the limo logjam and walk :)
Great location, beautiful space, felt really good to be there, very comfortable bed. Loved it.
Lovely apartment. Comfortable bed and sofabed. Really enjoyed being able to sit outside too (breakfast).
Easy walking distance into Hollywood.
Also Hollywood Bowl only 15 mins on foot - and really worth going to a concert there - great experience.
I stayed about two weeks here and loved everything about my stay. It's ideally located, so you can easily get to the west or east side of LA. It's quiet - you listen to birds chirping, instead of the whizzing of traffic. The neighborhood is beautiful. I felt like I was in the Mediterranean! The place was clean & cozy and the bed comfortable. The apartment is bathed in sunlight in the morning (although not in the bedroom, which gives you a tucked away feel). Plus, Jamie and James are amazing. They were helpful and prompt if I needed anything or had any questions, and they let me stay (thank you!) a little longer because I had a late flight. There's also a great patio to enjoy your morning coffee or an evening beverage. Without a doubt, I'd stay here again. It's a great in Los Angeles, so book it. You'll be glad you did.
The house was beautiful, the apartment was super clean, quiet and comfortable. We had everything we needed and plenty of space. The neighborhood was pretty and safe, the house is in a good location and it was really nice to have the option to walk; you can easily get to Hollywood Blvd, Yamashiro or the Bowl. The parking space is a plus, for sure. Our host were very friendly and welcoming. All in all it was a very smooth transaction and a good deal. I would stay here again, no question - Highly Recommended!!
I stayed at this property for three nights while attending a conference at the LA convention center. I can honestly say I didn't want to leave! Jamie and James were very nice and hospitable. The apartment itself is very cute and has great energy and great lighting. I usually don't sleep well when I travel, but I slept like a baby on the bed in the bedroom! I am also very particular about safety, but I did not feel unsafe at all while there. There are a few steps that you have to carry your bags up/down, so be prepared for that - but it's not too bad at all. Luckily, it was quite cool at night when I stayed, so I didn't need the air conditioning and just cooled the apartment off by opening the windows at night. I will definitely be staying again! And I highly recommend to anybody who is looking for a great experience in a nice centrally-located and peaceful location.
This place exceeded my expectations. Very close to everything we wanted to do. Clean and has all you need. Weather was awesome and James and Jaimie are very hospitable and helpful. The bed was comfortable. It was a nice location and quiet considering 2 other apartments on site. We have 2 kids, so it was a lot more room than staying in a hotel and cheaper! It really is so close to universal studios, around the corner from the Hollywood bowl, Dolby theatre, Chinese theatre, and a short drive to Santa Monica and Venice beach. Our 1st VRBO experience and definitely not our last! I prefer this rather than a hotel for sure!
we are a gay friendly property.
