Located in Lemont, home of the famous Cog Hill Golf Course, this home, circa 1868, with over
4200 SF is now available to rent. The history of this home includes the Singer Family (Inventors of the Singer Sewing Machine). The Singer Mansion was recently featured in the popular 'Chicago Magazine' Real Estate Blog by Dennis Rodkin. It's deep rooted history has it's story told in the local Lemont History Museum and local log books. The stage is the late 1800's but with the modern convenience's of 2014.
The Conservatory is meant to be enjoyed year round and is perfect for your first cup of coffee in the morning, or a glass of wine in the evening and bird watching all day long. The fireplaces are original to the home and the marble mantles were imported from Italy. The Cherub chandeliers are from France You can feel the history all around you and the charm is captivating.
There is a gazebo in the back yard for lots of photo opportunities.
All of the comfy bedrooms has it's own special and unique 4-poster bed(s).
The very large 2nd floor family room can easily support additional sleeping options and there are two twin beds available.

The Singer Mansion is a step back in time (for those who appreciate the workmanship of long ago), a place to rest at the end of a long day spent exploring our wonderful attractions in Downtown Chicago and/or a place for you to host your corporate event away from home.

As a licensed Real Estate Broker in Illinois for over 25 years, I have seen a lot of homes, but this one is truly unique, and we have found that owning this home has been such a gift.
The history is so unique and the character is so abundant. We are in a place where we are lucky enough to be able to share our experience with others and have chosen to do so. We hope that when you come here to visit you will be taken back in time and your visit here will become a fun adventure in itself. The surroundings are beautiful the experience unique. In our years of travel we have seen many B&B's, private homes and Inns and would hope that this would live up to all of your expectations.

Of course, the beautiful city of Chicago is a short distance away and the attractions there are endless. We are also minutes away from the world famous Cog Hill Golf Course where the BMW Golf Championship Tournament is played.
A 30 minute drive from O'Hare and MIdway Airports.
Our Atrium is a beautiful place to sit and relax. The squirrels and the birds are right outside all the windows and no mosquitoes!
Our Library with it's French Chandelier is another place to get lost for a day.
And our large kitchen offers a fun place to prepare a meal if you just want to stay in for the night.
Our stay included my 92 year old mother, my adult nephew and his wife, my husband and me. We use to live in the area and our long weekend had many family and friends stopping by to say hello, (and see the great house). Room for everyone and everything we needed was there. The upstairs bedrooms are large and oh so comfortable. The sun porch was an instant favorite and we used the dining room for a game room. Lots of card playing. All who stopped by were impressed, very impressed. It was like staying with a beloved relative in their wonderful home. The upstairs family room had games and toys for the little ones and room for the guys to watch the Bears game. From downstairs you can't hear any thing from upstairs, including your cell phone so carry it with you, or get yelled at like me from my sister!!!! The train to Chicago was close but we opted to drive downtown and it's an easy drive straight down I55, not fast getting home but straight! I can't imagine a better home to stay in and Cynthia is accommodating and helpful. Her restaurant recommendation, Illinois Bar and Grill, was spot on. I would recommend The Singer Mansion to the most particular. Cleanliness was exceptional.
The Singer Mansion provides a wonderful alternative to individual hotel rooms, especially for those interested in staying as a group. Our group included three couples and a couple of singles, easily accommodated in the Singer's four bedrooms. We had plenty of room to hang out together, cook together and eat together. The Singer Mansion provides a great alternative to a bland hotel for family groups, small business groups, and other groups of 8-10. I especially appreciated the fact that downtown Lemont was within walking distance, even in the snow.
We spent a long weekend in this incredibly beautiful home. Our group was 3 families, 7 adults and we loved this house. It is large enough to get away from each other when needed and cozy enough to sit and have fun with each other. We loved the Conservatory/ atrium for morning coffee and planning the day. Beds are all comfy and the large 2nd floor family room was a great evening gathering spot. Close enough to make it to the city or just stay in Lemont area - lots to do! We took in the NASCAR race and it was an easy drive with little traffic. Cyndi was great to work with and promptly refunded the deposit. Feel confident dealing with Cyndi and this house will not disappoint you - it is an awesome place to stay! We do agree with other posters who suggested a larger screen tv in the upstairs room would add some value! But overall this was a wonderful experience.
We planned a mini-family reunion after a wedding and this was the perfect house for us. House is full of antiques, very clean and very comfortable. Easy access to downtown Chicago. Lemont is a charming city as well. Highly recommend it. Can't wait to come back for a longer stay.
We are from Lemont, but living in Europe, so we needed a place to stay close to family when we visit for the holidays. The Singer Mansion has been perfect for my family, including 3 kids. We've stayed there 2 times and are planning a 3rd this summer. Much of the first floor is historic and feels like a small museum. For my kids, there is a huge family room for them to play, and plenty of beds (I think you could sleep 10 easily) - this way they don't ruin any of the neat stuff on the first floor. The kitchen is also great.
A good place to stay if you golf too, with cog hill and other courses nearby. Train stop to chicago is a 5 minute walk (but doesn't run on the weekend). Downtown Lemont with it's bars, restaurants is also a 5 minute walk.
There are not many vacation rentals in the suburbs of Chicago - this is a great one! Thanks Cyndi!
We stayed in this beautiful home while I attended a conference in downtown Chicago. Like many of the other reviews, the place was simply awesome. Every room we walked into we kept saying "wow". The size of the house, the number of areas to sit and relax, the great room, huge kitchen, wrap around porch...all spectacular. The local train service runs early 3 times each day (6:00, 6:40 and 7:30 I believe) and is a fast and inexpensive way to get downtown and the train station is walking distance to the house. The only challenge we faced was the commute into downtown by car, which was 50 to 60 minutes during rush hour. However, it was still an easy route to get there and would recommend this property for anyone wanting to experience the hustle and bustle of Chicago, and then the tranquil setting of an old mansion in the suburbs. We definitely plan to go back to this wonderful property. It would be great for a couples weekend (easily sleep 4 to 5 couples), or a larger group. We have 4 children (12 to 22) and all were very comfortable in this large place. The only complaint they had was that there wasn't a large flat screen TV for movies, but, frankly, that was it!
