An amazing location for exploring Paris! The Wall Street Journal in January, 2014 calls our neighbourhood (the 6th) the 'Creme de la Creme' and now the most expensive address in Paris with a rustic vibe that evokes the feel of an 18th century neighbourhood with 21st century amenities and has been the stomping grounds for Europe's intellectual & artistic elite for the last 100 years. Enjoy this beautifully renovated, bright, two bedroom, two bathroom (each with shower, sink + toilet) apartment. Elegantly furnished and appointed- all brand new high end furniture & appliances. Large bright double sitting room with sofa-bed and three French windows overlooking the street, writing/computer plug in desk, dining area for 6, dishwasher, induction hob, full size fridge/freezer, coffeemaker, Nespresso machine, fully equipped. Both bedrooms face onto quiet courtyard. Both are air conditioned for summer comfort. Master bathroom is en suite (shower, sink + wc) with queen size bed and lots of storage in large mirrored closet. Second bath (shower, sink + wc) has washer + dryer for your convenience. Elevator. 2TVs. Free wifi internet, free long distance calls – including to cellphones in North America, cable TV. Steps to Boulevard St. Germain and the famous Café Les Deux Magots and Café de Flore, the Luxembourg Gardens, metro line #4 (St. Germain) and #10 (Mabillon), a short walk into the heart of the Latin Quarter. Also includes iron, ironing board, two hairdryers, flatiron (for hair). There is a locked closet with keys for valuables. I am a Toronto lawyer who lived and studied in Paris for a year when I was in my early 20's. I met my American husband that year in Paris. Since then, Paris has always been a special place for me. We now live in Toronto with our two university age sons.

Why Jane Ferguson chose Paris

My dream of owing a pied-a-terre in Paris was formed the year I lived there in the early 80's and was finally realized in 2012 when I found this apartment in the perfect location in St. Germain des Pres on the border of the Latin Quarter and a short walk to the Seine - perfect for exploring Paris. It was an estate sale - a rabbit-warren of rooms badly in need of renovation. I took the plunge and spent 6 months doing a total gut and reno. As a result, everything (even the drywall, plumbing & electrical) is all new. I can't use it as much as I would like to so I am delighted to be able to share it with others.

What makes this apartment unique

The location is superb. The amenities complete. Everything is new but fixtures and finishes were chosen to give it a classic elegant Paris apartment feel. I hope you will feel at home there. (One of my repeat clients calls it 'our apartment'!)

Foodies and cooks will love the proximity to the Marche St. Germain food market (open each day but Monday - open 8:30 - 1 Tues - Sat & 8:30 - 1 Sunday) and the organic & eco-friendly Boulevard Raspail market and flea market on Sunday (between rue du Cherche-Midi & rue de Rennes, open 8:30 - 2:30 p.m. Sundays) and the famed epicerie/food hall at the Bon Marche department store south just into the 14th district - about a 15 minute walk from the apartment.

  • Both bathrooms feature spacious showers, and are well finished to a high standard. Newly renovated. Bathroom 2 also houses the washer and dryer.

  • Both bedrooms are well appointed, both face onto a very quiet courtyard. Both are air conditioned. The double bed in the second bedroom is wider than an North American double, and just 3 inches narrower than a North American queen. Beds and linens are extremely comfortable. The sofabed in the living room is new & very comfortable.

Convenient, Comfortable and a Great Area

My wife and I recently spent ten nights at Jane's property. It was by far the best of many stays in Paris over the past thirty years.

The apartment is extremely well appointed and spacious. It is so comfortable that there is a great temptation just to sit down and read a book or listen to good music and forget about the outside world.

The area is brilliant with many great bars and restaurants in Rue des Canettes and the surrounding alley ways. The location is central to and within walking distance of most of Paris' central attractions. If you do not want to walk, a taxi rank, multiple bus routes and a metro are within a few minutes of the front door.

A huge plus is that, although Rue des Canettes really buzzes to the wee hours, the bedrooms area at the back of the apartment and are very quiet.

The "meeting and greeting", undertaken by Roland, was performed very efficiently and graciously. It was much appreciated after 30+ hours of continuous air travel.

The apartment was perfect for the two of us and would suit a family of four where two children did not mind sharing a double bed. In our view it would be a bit "squeezy" for four adults.

Perfect apartment for any visit to Paris!

I can't express how perfect this apartment was for our visit to Paris. The layout of the apartment is smart and spacious. The furniture and features are top-notch. The three gorgeous windows are charming and the bedroom air-conditioners were plenty strong enough for our August visit. The showers featured upgraded shower heads and the water pressure was great. I can't recommend Jane's apartment enough.

Exactly as described!

We have been fortunate to visit Paris frequently for business and pleasure during the last ten years and have rented several lovely apartments, mostly in the 6th. This apartment may now be our new favorite! It is the perfect mix of newly renovated and functional with old world charm, character and tasteful personal style. The location could not be beat as it was a short walk to many of our favorite shops, cafes, restaurants, gardens, etc., in all directions, as well as being an easy walk to several Metro lines. Being familiar with the area, we had been a bit concerned that the street would be noisy. We did not find that an issue and we had the windows open out to the street most of the time. It can be lively, but we never found it at all rowdy or unpleasant. We loved having the two showers available (rare in Paris apartments) and the size of the apartment was perfect for the three of us, a couple with our adult son. The living room area is particularly spacious and inviting. Roland was charming and quite helpful! Thanks Jane for sharing your special apartment with us.

Fabulous 3 Week Stay

A friend and I just returned home after a 3 week stay at this apartment. Jane's apartment is a perfect spot to explore Paris from. First the apartment is lovely and was very comfortable for the two of us. The apartment is very light and airy and the main living/dining area was a great spot to start our day with coffee and croissants(also a great spot to end the day with a glass of wine). The location is perfect. We were a 2-3 minute walk from 2 metro stations and 2 different bus stops are even closer. Marks and Spencer has a great grocery store a 2 minute walk away and a larger French grocery store is a 5 minute walk. We had a choice of 10 different restaurants within a 3 minute walk. Yes the front street was noisy occasionally with laughter and occasional trucks however when the windows were closed you did not hear a thing! Jane.. apartment owner.. was very receptive whenever I would email her with a question before our stay. Roland... the apartment manager.. was waiting for us when we arrived. His number is programmed into the dial phone in apartment so if you have a question during your stay he's only a push button away. I didn't consider air conditioning into our decision to rent here but I sure am glad it's in both bedrooms.. very hot in Paris during part of our stay.

The apartment was also very clean. I can't say enough about how happy we were with our choice of this location.

Wonderful apartment in Paris

We spent 5 nights in Jane's cosy apartment in January. Roland the manager, gave us the tour of the workings of everything that opened and shut, recommended his favourite eateries and a great review of the neighbourhood. The apartment itself is as depicted in the photos, quite spacious. Despite the cold wet weather, it was lovely to come back to our warm, secure apartment. Everything we needed was walking distance.

Jane was responsive to our emails, very helpful and friendly.

We can't wait to return to Paris and this apartment, it really did feel like home away from home!

In the heart of historic St.Germain des Pres, steps from St. Sulpice, and just south of Boulevard St. Germain off the rue du Four. Close to metro stops St. Germain and Mabillon. 1/3 of a mile to Luxembourg Gardens. Short walk to the Latin Quarter. In the heart of the city and the famous literary quarter and a 5 minute walk to Cafe les deux magots - a favourite haunt of Hemingway, Stein, F. Scott Fitzgerald and their contemporaries and the Cafe de Flore - favoured by Picasso (who lived and painted nearby) and Jean Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir. Walking distance to many museums. Foodies will love the proximity to the St. Germain market (open every day but Monday), the Organic market on the Boulevard Raspail every Sunday and the famous food hall a 15 minute walk south in Le Bon Marche department store. The apartment is on a small medieval street filled with restaurants, cafes, bars and little shops. A great launching pad for sightseeing, walking, shopping and more.
