Why Linda & Lenny chose Tennessee

My wife and I purchased this cabin because of its great location. Our property backs up to the Cherokee National Forest and provides great privacy. we enjoy driving through the mountains and fishing on the lake. My wife's sister recently visited and they had the time of their lives! They went horseback riding, antiquing and shopping just to name a few activities. So as you can tell the activities are many and varied. This is a great recreational area w/ many outdooor activities also.

What makes this cabin unique

While staying at Lainie's Lodge you cannot see a house in sight. The cabin has been placed in center of property w/ a long driveway! Yet there are neighbors close by if there is an emergency of any sort.

Beautiful and quiet

  • 5 of 5

It's very secluded and quiet. But only about 15 minutes from things that you need.

High quality cabin set in the woods

  • 4 of 5

We spent a week here in mid-July. The cabin and furnishing were very clean and we had everything we needed. If anything the pictures don't do justice to the quality of the cabin and it's decor. As others have indicated, there is a bit of a rocky drive to the cabin, but our car handled it fine and it should not put anyone off. Good access to the national forest.

Beautiful Cabin in the Woods

  • 4 of 5

We very much enjoyed Laine's Lodge Cabin. It was very clean, nicely decorated with all the comforts of home. The lot is beautiful and it is pretty close to several destinations. We drove from Atlanta and visited friends in Cleveland and Chattanooga. We definitely recommend rafting and some lakeside activities (sunset cruise etc...). We went rafting with the Ocoee Inn crew and we found that this outfitter was very knowledgeable, safe, friendly and very convenient. They have a very short bus ride to the drop off and even shorter drive to the pickup which makes a big difference in the trip time. Overall, everything in the cabin was great - minor comments for you (although beautiful cabin, price was a little high for location (far from water) for a family of 4, the TV is a little small - but we are all spoiled these days with big screens and the AC is a little hard to balance (warm upstairs cold downstairs but manageable )

I would recommend that you enhance your pre-visit note to describe the 15 minute (or so) drive from the main highway to the cabin. Also include a little general inventory list - our theory was - lets go see what's there and then go shopping - if you had a list or small set of instructions on what to buy (ie. powdered detergent is available, toilet paper included, garbage bags, no paper goods, no shampoo, towels included, etc.) you could go shopping before you go to the cabin and save a bit of back and forth (especially for short visits and checking in late). Thanks for sharing your cabin with us - it was a great experience for me and my family.

Take care

Owner's Response: We are glad you and your family had a great time. Our home is 4 1/2 miles from the main road, with its twists and turns it is about a 10 minute drive, but the road is so scenic we feel it enhances the experience of getting to our forest retreat. MY husband has been after me to get a bigger TV for years, but my response was "it still works, and people are here for the outdoor adventure, and to get away from the electronics". He WILL buy a larger TV next time we are there and we will donate our old one. Thank you for your suggestion that we list the items we supply . Most items are listed already on the VRBO website. Thank you again for choosing Laine's Lodge and we are glad you enjoyed your stay.

Easter in Tennessee

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time gathering as a family. One of our daughters attends Lee University in nearby Cleveland. She suggested our family travel from Michigan to visit her during her Easter break. We couldn't have asked for better weather. It was sunny and in the 80's. We did lots of hiking and visiting the beautiful country. Benton Falls was a must see. We also hiked Star Mountain. We found a great winery not far from the cabin. The owner and his son were a hoot. (Savannah Oaks Winery)

The cabin was as described. It was a little tight for the 6 adults to sleep but we all made the best of that and it didn't stop us from enjoying it. We had fun sitting around the fire pit each night singing and toasting our marshmallows.

Thanks for the great memories.
