La Floresta is a traditional Quito neighborhood. The streets around the apartment building are full of of houses built in the 50's. On Fridays you can experience a typical Ecuadorian farmers' market.
Enjoy some of the trendiest restaurants, bakeries, and night life. Groceries are just one block away at Supermaxi, as well as dry cleaners. The Swissotel (five stars) and Radisson Hotel are across the street.
Night life at Plaza Foch is a 10-minute drive away. The colonial old town - the largest and most beautiful in South America - is 15 away minutes by taxi. You shouldn't miss the cable car to Pichincha volcano at 15, 000 feet, which offers an amazing view of the city and a theme park for those traveling with children. Bird watching and white water rafting are a one-hour drive away in Mindo and Papallacta thermal baths surrounded by mountains are one hour and a half away.
TRANSPORTATION AROUND THE APARTMENT
Taxi cabs in Quito are both safe and affordable. There are plenty passing by right in front of the apartment.
I went to Johnson&Wales (Miami Campus) where I fell in love with all things related to the hotel industry. While I was in school and after graduating I spent three years working at the Ritz Carlton...where nothing but the best is offered to guests! I hope to bring a little of that experience to my guests.

We also take great care of our property,making sure everything is what one would want at home or better.We like to keep our apartment and everything in it very clean, so no need to wash linens or towels at the end of your stay, these are professionally washed.
Staying here made my work stay absolutely incredible. Carla was gracious and efficient with providing all the necessary information prior to, during and and after my stay. The view was spectacular and the location is perfect. Thank you and I will most definitely choose Carla's condo for future trips.
This apartment was within walking distance to the historic Old Town as well as minutes away from Gringolandia, good restaurants, and a large SuperMaxi grocery market. Cabs were easily located nearby as the apt was next door to the Swissotel (a main hotel in Quito). The panoramic views from the apartment were amazing and we watched the sunrise several times. The location was clean and we felt safe within as the building had a doorman 24/7. Unfortunately, we ran into some issues during our stay. Upon our arrival and entry into the apt, we were surprised to see someone else's luggage. We learned there was a mixup with the properties which was resolved. Also, the wifi code was not provided ahead of time, which meant we had no way to easily contact the owner (a local cell phone was not provided). We also noticed right away that we had to go shopping for essentials that we believe should have been included for guests (such as toilet paper). There were no condiments or basic staples in the apt at all (i.e. butter, salt, sugar, etc.) - the place was bare which is in contrast to every other VRBO we've stayed in. If you're staying here, you'll need to be prepared to add these items to your initial grocery purchase. Also, the apartment did not include a 'reference guide' for guests. Given we were tourists, it is always helpful to have basic info available for those not from the area (including location of grocery stores, restaurant recommendations, local maps, even a quick 'how to' for using the TV, washer/dryer, etc.) On the day before we were due to check out, we had to head to the airport to resolve a flight mix up. Upon our return to the apartment we were again surprised to see that the apt had been stripped bare of everything we had stocked it with (inc. milk, butter, crackers, cereal, toiletries, etc.), the sheets were gone from the bed, and the towels removed. We realized afterwards that the doorman must have seen us with our luggage and assumed were we leaving and told the housekeeper. Our view is that entry into the apt should never happen until the checkout date has arrived. If each of these inconveniences had been one-offs, we wouldn't have batted an eye. However, each of them combined, unfortunately, put a damper on our stay. The owner was very apologetic and we appreciated her concern in the moment. Hopefully, our experience can help in making some positive changes for the next person's stay.
My second stay here and would book again without hesitation.
Terrific one-bedroom with 24-hour doorman and beautiful views. Apartment is spotless and modern with all necessary furnishings, dishes, etc. Wifi signal is strong. La Floresta location is great, as well, There is a small convenience store located right around the corner for bottled water and basics, as well as a Supermaxi only a 5 minute walk away. The Quito Deli, the Swishotel's café is 1 minute away for good coffee, breads and snacks. You can walk to the Mariscal neighborhood in under 10 minutes; however, La Floresta area has plenty of options for restaurants, nightlife, etc.
El departamento es muy precioso y se tiene una vista parnorâmica espetacular de la ciudad. Está umbicado en una región maravillosa cerca de super, farmacia e panaderia. Tiene también todas las cosas necessárias y es exactamente como descrito en el anuncio. Gracias a Carla por sus atenciones e amabilidad.
My husband and I were very satisfied with our stay in this apartment, but with a few minor suggestions to help the owner. We were here for 3 nights, Fri-Mon. Everything on this apartment's website is EXACTLY as pictured. We loved being on the top floor with a beautiful view of the city. We felt very secure in this apartment, and although it doesn't list it on this website, the owner made sure we had a local cell phone and charger to use while we were there, which we REALLY APPRECIATED! The owner provided 6 bananas on a tray, along with a very tall bottle of water--we appreciated them both, and that kind gesture. We totally, also, appreciated the washer/dryer and blender! The apartment was in clean and pristine condition.
Other things we personally noticed, and also to help the owner maintenance wise:
1. It appears the dryer is not properly vented or that there may be a blockage somewhere in the dryer vent. This is notable because it took our clothes way too long to dry (and there was NO LINT in the lint catcher). A lack of proper venting could be cause for a fire hazard, which we would hate to see, both for the apartment owner and for the building itself. Please check this out, as having to run the dryer for a considerable amount of time also raises your electric bill considerably!
2. There were DVDs in the apartment by the television, but no DVD player. It might be better to remove those DVDs since there is no DVD player actually in the apartment.
3. When the owner quoted the price for our stay, she added another cleaning fee (for towels and linens). That was a problem for us because that fee was NOT quoted at all on the website. My suggestion is to update the website to reflect that charge accordingly, otherwise a prospective renter might consider it similar to "false advertising" because it is NOT on the apartment's site rental at all. But honestly, our thoughts, even if it were on the website, we would have been more inclined to look elsewhere because of that "extra cleaning fee."
4. We asked the apartment owner if we could pay a partial day fee to stay at the apartment with our luggage until 730 pm, particularly if no one was going to be checking in the day we were leaving. We asked her to please let us know, so that we would know how to plan for our check out day, but she never replied back with an answer either way. She did say she would have to charge us for another entire day, because it would not allow her to rent to anyone else.:-(
Staying at this apartment was absolutely perfect. Everything was well maintained and Carla was exceptionally helpful. The location was great - everything was within walking distance - the university, supermarket, restaurants etc., and on top of all that it had an amazing view. I would definitely recommend this to any of my friends or relatives and I would definitely stay here again!
What would you do if you found the perfect place to stay in Quito? Go back! That's what I did and loved it even more the second time. The apartment is in a great location, has scenic views in the living room and bedroom, modern decor, very friendly doorman 24/7, and all the comforts of home.
The neighborhood is full of restaurants, a big supermarket and also has a farmers market every Friday. Food choices and fresh ingredients abound.
Carla replied to my emails promptly and was always very helpful. Beautiful apartment in a stellar part of town and great customer service make for a very enjoyable experience in Quito.
The apartment building is across the street from Swissotel Hotel (5 star) which offers Japanese, American and Swiss restaurants as well as a cafeteria where you can have breakfast or grab a sandwich for lunch and enjoy some wonderful Ecuadorian coffee. You can also walk to other great restaurants and bars in five to ten minutes. Night life at Plaza Foch is a 10 minute drive away.The colonial old town, the largest and most beautiful in South America, is 15 minutes by taxi- no need to worry Quito has affordable and safe taxi service. You shouldn't miss the cable car to Pichincha at 15.000 feet, which offers an amazing view of the city and a theme park if traveling with children. Bird watching and white water rafting one hour away at Mindo. Papallacta thermal baths with impressive views are also a one and a half hour drive away.
