Huge Lot -Cozy Cottage, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
Why Owner chose Greenbush
Sandy grew up in nearby Harrisville. Tim grew up in Howell and spent lots of time at his grandparent's Lake Huron home. We both love the area and that big lake! This was the best beach we could find so here we are!
What makes this Cottage unique
We love spending time on the beach swimming, walking and sun bathing. In the evenings we love to build a fire and star gaze. If you live in metropolitan area you will be amazed at the star shine. Keep watch for the northern lights too.

Beautiful piece of land right on Lake Huron!!!
Beautiful sunrises!! Had a great weekend getaway with my husband and our pups! Can’t wait to book again when the weather is warmer!
Just as advertised. Had a great time.
We booked this property to celebrate our anniversary and enjoy some downtime without kids. We chose this property specifically for scenic location, a hot tub to relax in, WIFI connection so we could attend to necessary business while away, and ability to bring our sweet dog. The hot tub and WIFI were unusable during our stay which we found to be disappointing. Upon check-in our first night the temperature of the bedroom was so cold that you could see your breath in the air. I went to bed in my coat but the cottage did warm up by morning. We contacted the property manager about the WIFI and the hot tub not working and he was apologetic but unable to remedy the situation. We ended up checking out early. This is a beautiful location with a scenic view of lake Huron. In the summer, I could have overlooked the fact that 2 amenities, high on my priority list, were not working as I could have spent long days outside. I suggest the property owner check the status of the house prior to guest arrival in the future so that this doesn't happen to someone else.
This was the first time, in a long, long time that we didn't receive a 5-Star review. The weekend that these guests stayed was also our anniversary so we spent a long weekend in Traverse City. The guests contacted me about their issues. I had been at the cottage the Wednesday prior to their arrival to make the cottage ready for them. The hot tub was 104 degrees. The WiFi was working because I had Alexa playing a favorite radio station while I was preparing the cottage. When the guests texted that they were having problems I was perplexed because everything was fine 2 days before. I told them that on occasion (very seldom) we would loose signal from Spectrum. I told them to unplug the router and WiFi for 1 minute and plug it back in. I said if that didn't work call me and I'd call Spectrum. I
didn't hear back from them. The hot tub was a bit of puzzle. We've lots of guests this winter and no one has had a problem. They also complained about the bedroom being cold. The temp in the bedroom is cooler than the rest of the cottage however we have an electric mattress pad, an electric space heater, fleece sheets and there's a heavy quilt in the closet. My wife and I have slept in that room when temps have been well below zero and we've been totally comfy. We provide firewood and Duraflame logs for guests. In cold weather guests all build a fire in our airtight fireplace insert. It provides beautiful radiant heat. That's in addition to fireplace we have a natural gas wall furnace. These guests did not build a fire. The guests got back with me and said they were leaving Saturday night (their check out was Sunday). We returned from our weekend get-away on Sunday. The first thing Monday morning I headed to the cottage to check on their issues. When I arrived at our cottage the first thing I did was ask Alexa what the temp was - she said 25 degrees - okay the Wifi is working. Then I stepped outside the bedroom to check the hot tub temp - 98 degrees. We have new guests at the cottage this weekend and they are raving about the place!! They are amazed about well equipped, how clean and love the view.. They are using the WiFi and the hot tub is showing104 degrees. I'm not sure why the prior guests had issues. Everything was totally fine. One thing I've been praised for by guests, is how to accessible and responsive I am if they have a question or an issue. Doesn't happen very often, but if it does' I'm always easy to get in touch with.
We had an amazing experience. Tim’s cottage was exactly what we were looking for. It snowed all day on our first full day and turned the cottage into a picturesque winter wonderland. From the beautiful snowy pine trees, to the wood burning fire place, to the steam filled hot tub - everything was amazing. I suspect the place is even better in the summer - but I would recommend Tim’s place to anyone looking for a secluded winter “getaway” as well. Tim was super responsive and helpful to all inquiries and even responded within minutes to my messages with questions during our stay. I wish I were able to attach pictures to this review so others could see how beautiful this place is. High recommend!!! Thanks Tim, we will be back!
Just what we wanted.
This lovely little retro cottage was just what we wanted for a relaxing winter get away. The cozy fire place, the view of the lake and being able to bring our two dogs along made this the perfect spot. The cottage had everything we needed and our host was very prompt in responding to our few questions. This was such a nice spot we would love to come back in the summer.
I totally appreciated the way you folks left the cottage. It looked like no one had been there. Sandy and I love guests like you. I gave you 5 stars on Vrbo and we hope you come back.
Great Get-Away Spot
We booked this property for the week of Christmas. We wanted a place to be away from the big City (Chicago). It was perfect. Clean and well equipped. A great fire place, comfortable for watching football and reading. Cozy and well appointed. I highly recommend.
