Relax in a waterfront location that features quiet, solitude and wildlife!
This unique beach house is located in Cape Meares, the best-kept secret on the Oregon Coast. Located on the Three Capes Scenic Drive, just west of Tillamook and a few miles north of Oceanside, Cape Meares is a quiet, beautiful little town that features a fabulous sandy beach. The beach is known for driftwood, shell hunting, agate hunting, kite flying, tidepools and caves to explore at low tide. Additionally, there is a fresh water lake, which is stocked with trout and popular for fishing, kayaking, canoeing or sailing.
The house is perfectly located between the ocean and lake, making it truly surrounded by water. There are water views from every window, as well as the front and back decks. In the mornings, enjoy breakfast out back with sunrise over the lake, and in the evenings, treat yourself to drinks on the front deck while watching the sunset over the ocean.
The updated house features two large bedrooms, each with queen beds. The downstairs master has it's own sink in the bedroom and the upstairs room has an additional twin daybed. The large bonus room upstairs has a large TV/media center, puzzles/games and three other twin beds (one turns into a queen when you pull the trundle out) - it makes for a perfect kid room!
The great room downstairs features a 60" (yes, 60"!) flat screen TV, with a DVD player and iPod docking station. There is a cedar wood sauna in the downstairs bathroom, perfect for warming up after playing in the ocean!
The fully stocked kitchen has recently been updated and features a dishwasher, oven/stove, microwave and luxury items such as an ice cream maker.
There are kayaks & boats available for use to go fishing, crabbing or just plain having fun on the lake. Life jackets are provided for your safety.
This home is ideal year 'round. Enjoy the warm months outside on the decks, exploring the beach or on the water in a boat. In the winter you will love to curl up on the sofa near the Pellet stove and enjoy the incredible views out every window. This is the perfect storm watching house!
*Please note: Unfortunately, the dock will be unusable to guests until further notice.*
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
This house is sandwiched between the ocean and Cape Meares Lake. It has the most wonderful secluded sand beach that you can walk and immediate access to Bayocean Peninsula Park which is another ecosystem all-together. Then on the other side of that is the Tillamook Bay. We felt like we were in 3 different vacation locations. If you like to walk, you can do an 11 mile circular loop and catch an elk herd at the end like we did! We'd like to come back when the lake is full again and be able to kayak as well.
We really enjoyed our stay. Ocean is right out the front window and you can hear it from every room. The lake was dry during our stay, but there were plenty of other things to do...including flying a kite that they had at the house. We will be back for sure!
The weather was rainy but the view was spectacular. We made a big pot of soup and enjoyed the show. Highly recommend.
The quiet neighborhood and beach access is amazing.
We had a great time at Cape Meares! The house couldn't be any closer to the beach, and the coastline was private and well kept. The house itself, while a little older, was well maintained, clean, and had all the necessities we needed for a relaxing weekend. We really appreciated the fact that the property was dog friendly, and even came with a crate.
From the write-up, it sounds like a place for a perfect vacation. On the other hand, we found unclean dishes and glasses in the cupboards. The various glasses and coffee cups seemed to be a collection from a garage sale. The kitchen towel/s had holes. There was no easy path to the beach which was solid with lava rocks. As a result, after one trip to the beach, it was most desirable for my wife to remain at the house while the rest of the family enjoyed activities on the sandy beach. As for the lake, the water level was extremely low. If the dock was repaired, there would be no way to get to the water. Renter should be aware that double payment is made in one payment: one for VRBO and the other for Vacasa. The family did enjoy the kites found at the house and the beds were comfortable.
