What a wonderful vacation home, exactly as described in the ad. Our group of ten were in Hamilton in July to attend various events. Four of us to attend our 65th high school reunion, others to attend an "all alumni" reunion at the old high school on the same weekend, and others to just visit the Bitterroot Valley for the first time. Every need was met at the house. Clean, well furnished, thoughtful details which made it feel like being in a home we were actually living in long-term. I'd like to think even the perfect weather was ordered by the Wheelers.
Lynne was so helpful in the process of getting the reservation made as well as answering subsequent questions with extra details. Steve met us promptly when we arrived so that a long drive ended with our being able to settle in quickly.
After planned activities were over, the last day there we hosted a BBQ for the thirty or so people who attended. Having the gazebo was the absolutely perfect place to have the food and room for everyone to gather and visit.
Several guests were so impressed with the property they talked of having future activities of there own there.
The only negative was not having the internet, however, our cell phones did work so anything that was really important was sent or received.
My greatest stress is seeing that just after we left, the Roaring Lion fire broke out and news reports show evacuations including Hayes Creek. May this property be spared and the Wheelers not have any damage that has to be repaired.
Thank you Lynne and Steve - it couldn't have been better.

We met our grown children and their spouses at Hayes Creek between Christmas and the new year. It turned out to be perfect. We could walk and snowshoe right out the door, practice finding avalanche beacons all over the property, and there was fabulous skiing and snowshoeing within a few minutes drive. Apres' ski, Hamilton has two excellent brew pubs. When we got tired of outdoor activities, the game/TV room provided space for many activities, including pool, watching movies, tying flies (we brought our own supplies), and jigsaw puzzles. And the spacious kitchen allowed us to cook all of our meals at the house. We were even able to have our old dogs with us. Whatever you have in mind in the mountains near Hamilton, this is a wonderful place to use as a headquarters.
Our group of 11 stayed here for three days in July and it was amazing. There is plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. The house is very clean and the kitchen/dining area was perfect for making meals for a large group. The deck was a great place to gather and enjoy the peaceful evenings. The yard is beautiful and many in our group took advantage of the yard games that were provided, we even bought some games at the local store and left there for future renters. We will definitely come back to this house again. For future renters please note: There wasn't any extra toilet paper, there is no Air Conditioning (only box fans) and the bugs are bad in the evening...a quick trip to the local store remedied these issues and our stay was perfect! Thank you for providing such a wonderful home and amenities!
We stayed at Hayes Creek for our son's wedding in Hamilton. Steve and Lynn were very helpful from start to finish. The house was AMAZING! It was spacious, clean, and well supplied with necessities. The beds were very comfy. The yard was immaculate and huge! The location is perfect for peace and quiet. We held the rehearsal dinner at the house and everyone loved it! If we have occasion to be in Hamilton again we would stay here in a heartbeat! Thanks, Steve and Lynn!
What a great location and a fantastic setting. It snowed the whole time we were there and it was awesome. We cross country skied, snowshoed and just played in the snow. We saw Elk and Deer. Took beautiful hikes into the wilderness and really felt alone in the area, which is what we were looking for. The owners were fantastic and very accommodating for fitting us in at the last moment. I really recommend this home to anyone, who knows we may make it an annual event.
