About Roy and Debbie Perron
We have been traveling to North Carolina for years and then we decided to buy a cabin, except we ended up building one in Jackson County. And then we found these cabins and loved the area. Renting them was a gradual thing after folks we knew wanted to rent them, so we decided to advertise. It's alot of work, but we love getting the cabins ready for ourselves and anyone else that would like to enjoy them. You can't help but love the cool air and country atmosphere in Graham County.
Roy and Debbie Perron purchased this Cabin in 1997
Why Roy and Debbie Perron chose Robbinsville
We bought this cabin a few years after our cabin (the Chalet), just because it was so cute and conveniently located on the same road for our family and friends. It's always hard to decide which cabin we like the best.

We had a wonderful time. It is truly up in the mountains. Everything you need is at the cabin.
Great overall experience, quiet peaceful location, very clean and comfortable.
Awesome Cabin and Beautiful Area
Our stay in this cabin was simply awesome, and the beauty of the surrounding area was downright breath taking. The proprietor was excellent. She checked in shortly after our arrival and provided some great advice (i.e. the Tapoca Lodge for dinner is a phenomenal place to spend an evening -- but best to get reservations first!), and they were very responsive when needed occasionally. Something to keep in mind though, is the Internet service is limited (and occasionally unreliable), so don't count on Netflix or Amazon Prime streaming as part of your basic entertainment, (which is probably not what you should be thinking anyway with so many other things to do -- but if you have younger traveling companions, or work requirements, it could be a factor).
We will definitely be going back!
Glad you enjoyed your visit at the Mountain Retreat. Yes, the leaves have been beautiful this year. And, yes, we do have some interruptions occasionally with the internet in the mountains but it's worth it. Thank you for visiting us.
Had a great time.
Very nice and cozy.
Great Place, Great Location, Great Time
This is a wonderful place to get away from it all, we mostly used it for a place to sleep because we were riding our motorcycles from daylight to dark. The Cabin had all we needed it was warm, clean, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen with pots and pans for light cooking, a gas grill and a wonderful fire pit which we enjoyed and a shelter for parking our bikes. Great place and would highly recommend it! The driveway is rather steep but don't let that detour you form staying here just walk it before you drive it.
Glad enjoyed your vacation at the Mountain Retreat. Thank you for the very nice review. We appreciate your comments.
Great peaceful getaway with everything we could need. The internet speed made working a little tough but that was only for a couple hours and not the intent of our stay. Nice cabin.
Perfect relaxing getaway
Beautiful location. Hard to get to, but worth being away from it all! We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. There was lots to do and so much beautiful scenery without getting into the craziness of Gatlinburg.
Graham County has many winding roads for the motorcyclist, beautiful mountain scenery for the sightseer and several lakes for the fisherman or boater. The Appalachian Trail is within a mile of the cabin in addition to many other hiking trails such as the nearby Joyce Kilmer Forest and the Great Smoky Mountains. You can watch the 5th class kayakers coming down the Cheoah River at the Tapoco Lodge, or enjoy Fontana, Santeetlah and Cheoah Lakes for water sports. A 30 minute ride will take you to Bryson City for downtown shopping, a museum or a train ride. To cool off in the summer, whitewater rafting is available on the nearby Nantahala River. And, the Cherohala Skyway is a beautiful drive especially in the Fall, plus there are many local festivals and events such as the Ramp Festival and the newest Azalea Festival with a hiking guide. Whatever is your outdoor love is, you'll find it here or you can just hang out at the cabin and chill. Come and enjoy it all!!
