About The Owner

My husband and I bought this cottage in 1999. We had been boaters but wanted a place where our grandchildren could grow up.

When we found this cottage we knew we could stop looking. We went through it , upgraded it and decorated it to make it our own.

Of course we were right, the grandchildren love it. We do too.

We have spent a lot of time there relaxing.

For us it was a nice getaway, close to home.

The neighbors out there are great and have become close friends.

My husband was a retired principal and I retired from teaching. We had fun doing some traveling but treasured our time at "camp".My husband passed away 5 years ago so things have changed a bit

but we have many treasured memories.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 1999

Why The Owner chose New York

We bought this place because of the location. It is only 45 minutes from our home plus it is a truly beautiful spot. Being so close to home, it's convienent for families and friends to visit.

What makes this cottage unique

Although the cottage is close to home it feels as though we are far away from all the hustle and bustle of daily life. There is a laundromat close by as well as a restaurant. Also there is a little grocery store for those forgotten items.

It is great to walk out the door, be near the lake and have privacy.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I was pleased to get a positive review from my guests who rented my cottage from July 22 to 25. I also want to say that they took very good care of it and left it in excellent condition. They are welcome back anytime.

Wonderful, Peaceful, & Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

My hubby & I enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing week with our doggies! The cabin was inviting, nicely decorated, clean & comfortable; however, the best part was the location! The views of the lake are exceptional; the sunsets are breathtaking! (we were also fortunate enough to have been there during a waxing moon!) We would love to visit again in the future! Thanks Gail! :-)

We had 4 Adults for a week, and several adult children doing day trips, plenty of room!.The views! I couldn't stop looking at the water. So peaceful. There really wasn't anything we didn't enjoy. We could do as much or as little as we wanted. We enjoyed exploring the area. I would recommend bringing your water shoes. Everything is provided other than foods and spices. I am hoping we can do this again sometime soon. Thank you Gail!

A Little Piece of Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Myself and a friend stayed at this rental and it was perfect! It was cozy and homey and comfortable. The view of the lake is spectacular and to sit in the screened porch and listen to the waves was thoroughly enjoyable. The decor is perfect for the setting and we instantly felt at home. The rental is fully stocked with everything you could need. Gail is an absolute joy to deal with and I would highly recommend this rental. I would love to return someday for another relaxing weekend getaway!!

Great Value, Very clean

  • 4 of 5

My husband an I spent a chilly weekend at Gail's lakefront cottage. Beautiful lake to sit at the shore and watch the sunset. Cottage was well equipped and clean. The weather was very cold and the first snow of the season fell during our stay, but we were warm and cozy inside beside a nice fire. We went to the casino one of the nights and had a great time. Would definitely stay again.

Very Nice Long Weekend Stay

  • 4 of 5

Had a great stay here the first weekend of October. The cabin was very nice, very well supplied with linens and all the kitchen things we needed. We were 3 guys up for a long fishing weekend. Gail (owner) was great to work with. We did not get into any of the water sports items she has there, but they were indeed there. 3 bedrooms. (2) with one big bed and one with (2) singles.

Would happily recommend this place for a similar trip stay. If Gail could have figured out how to make the weather cooperate more for fishing, it would have been a perfect weekend. But the cabin has a nice TV and DVD for when you get run off the lake by the weather.

Perfect! Great weekend getaway for my children husband and I. Wonderful view of the lake from the screened in back porch. Dock to walk out on and nd fish off of. My husband loved taking the kiyak out. The kids loved going out on the boat to fish. Life jackets were provided. The kids loved playing in the water. It is shallow enough for them to walk out. We had a nice fire and cooked on the grill. House has everything you need. We look forward to planning another trip here!
