Thanks Debbie for a wonderful stay at Casa Colinas. The house was perfect for our family of five, including three teens who enjoyed the view as much as we did. We found everything we needed and the privacy was a treat after long days in town. We hope to visit LA again and will certainly make Casa Colinas our first priority for hospitality! Thanks for everything.

Perfect stay for fall break college tours!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed over fall break for my son to visit film schools (USC, UCLA). He actually found and selected the property, which was a perfect getaway from the hectic pace of LA. The views are simply incredible, and the home was very comfortable. We hope to visit again soon.

Wonderful Location!!

  • 5 of 5

Everything from making the reservation through our stay went smoothly. Family of 6 (2 adults, 17, 15, 11 and 7) was able to use the main house and sleep comfortably utilizing the pull out sofa in the living room. Debbie was easy to work with.

This ended up being a great location for our planned activities (Universal Studios, Santa Monica Beach and drive up the coast through Malibu to UC Santa Barbara (and you can't beat the price!!!).

Hope to be back soon!!!

Perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The home is beautiful. Full of character, charm, warmth and very well appointed. The view was incredible and beckoned us to spend multiple evenings sipping wine and gazing at the activity below. It is very close to everything we wanted to do and see and there was almost always a way to skirt around traffic to get there! We had a lovely time and will be back! Thank you!!

Things we liked:

-Parking -Safety of neighborhood- Quiet community tucked in the hills- Motion lights on pathway- The VIEW- Charm of a vintage Hollywood home with hand hewn beams beautiful tile accents- Candles provided for aroma and ambiance- French doors and a ton of windows- All the conveniences of home- Close to everything- The patios (including a ramada!!)- A/C- Windows that allowed a nice breeze when a/c not needed- Good water pressure- Master bedroom ceiling fan gave perfect airflow at night for sleeping comfort- Good movie collection (although we didn't touch the tv once!)- Comfy window seat and living room furniture- Bathrooms where they were meant for convenience and use (one by the front door and one outside the master).

Things we pondered:

VERY firm master bed with minimal walking space to one side- Pillows were a little flat (but I am a fluffy pillow nut!)- Shower curtain and towels could have been more updated- No washer/dryer (although we didn't need it)- Microwave not on (although I'm sure there were instructions but again, we didn't need it)- Doing dishes/stripping the bed/taking out the garbage was a slight reality check at the end of a vacation (but nothing I don't do at my own beach house to help my maid service out!!)

Overall I would HIGHLY recommend a stay here. It felt like a home away from home.

Owner's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed our home. Next time you visit look for our washer and dryer down the stairs in the laundry room off the patio. I ask everyone to read the instructions before coming so they know the lay of the land. And in the instructions ut tells you where the laundry room is. Thanks for telling me about the microwave. If the power goes out the clock needs to be reset so I'll tell my cleaning lady to punch in the time. All of our towels were bought this year or within the last couple if years. We have around 20 of them in the bathroom. I use my house every year so I want to make sure there are good towels in the cabinet. Next time check the cabinet. And if you prefer a less firm bed you can use the other bedroom. I like a firm bed for my bad back. I ask everyone to put the dishes in the dishwasher and turn it on before leaving as well as take out the garbage to help the cleaning lady. I'm not sure if you've used a vacation rental before but it's quite common to ask that.

Casa Colinas, Hollywood Hills

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I really enjoyed our week's stay at Casa Colinas. It was awesome to be able to see the iconic Hollywood sign from the front deck. The home was beautiful, comfortable, and the surroundings were very quiet. It looked exactly like the photos. We heard an owl at night and saw lizards sunning themselves during the day. The location was excellent. Close to Hollywood, but up in the hills away from it all. So convenient to have the use of a washer and dryer on vacation! I loved sitting in the window seat looking over the valley.

Beautiful inside and out!

  • 5 of 5

We chose this property because of the patio and the view and the wonderful reviews, and now I'm so thrilled to be adding to the list of happy visitors! During our visit, the sun rose and set to the east and west of the property so it was never in the direct, hot sun. Absolutely perfect for morning coffee and sunset happy hours. And, you can enjoy the views from the inside sofa, also! There are such nice, homey touches to the interior and to the landscaping you can tell that this property is well-loved. The house is renovated with an authentic touch, a bit of old Hollywood (loved the windows and doors,) and with fun and warm Spanish tile. Debbie is a very conscientious homeowner and the property is updated, cozy and clean. Our 19 year-old son (6'1") slept on the sleeper sofa and said it was "fine!" Plenty of bedding, towels and kitchen equipment and condiments. The spacious parking pad was very easy to negotiate and a nice bonus for the Hollywood Hills. It was very quiet and peaceful. We feel very lucky to have found this gem!

Unbelievable experience

  • 5 of 5

From the minute we stepped foot into Debbie's Hollywood Hills home we were breathless. The view of the Hollywood sign is something else. The home has all the warm touches. You want for nothing. When you leave the home to do whatever it is you are there to do, you are simply driven back to HOME. We have never ever stayed somewhere as awesome as this and we have been around :). Thank you Debbie. We will be back!
