Linhaven Lodge is conveniently located within 6 miles of Dushore, in the endless mountains of northeast PA. You can find the amenities you need amidst the backdrop of small town charm. Nestled in the woods, Linhaven borders the 7,909 acres of state gameland #66. I am grateful for the comments, and in fact she is absolutely correct about the toilet system. I am so happy to report that as of March 30th, the initial
"environmentally friendly" toilet system we had in place has been replaced. The only thing I disagree with is the distance to travel for groceries, as it is 6 miles into the town of Dushore where there are two grocery stores, as well as a 24 hour mini mart to accommodate your needs.
My wife, four-year old daughter, and I stayed at Linhaven Lodge during a blizzard. The house was cozy and warm. We brought enough food with us for the first couple of days, and then after the driveway was plowed we went to the Dushore Market for more food. We came back and made cookies. My wife and I appreciated being able to cook without the pressure of the working week. Our daughter thought all the snow was the most wonderful thing in the world. Overall, Linhaven was a great place to stay.
The lodge was clean and well stocked. Plenty of towels and warm blankets. Although the house is very cozy and warm. It had everything we needed in the kitchen. We cooked the whole weekend and never needed anything, this house has it all. The kids played outside in the snow then came in to sit by the fire and read, play cards, watch movies.
We visited the town and did some shopping. We hiked at Ricketts Glen which is absolutely gorgeous! We would love to come back during the spring and also hunting season. Thank you for a great stay!
We loved every part of our brief stay at Linhaven Lodge. It was clean, cozy, and fun. They provided everything we needed, and also enjoyed a number of the broad collection of DVDs and games as well. We visited at the tail end of winter, and really loved cuddling up by the fire place at night, and the separate heating controls for each room. If we're ever in the area, we'll definitely be back! Thanks for everything! I recommend this little cabin whole-heartedly!
We enjoyed our weekend stay at Linhaven Lodge. We are from Kansas City and booked this for our family to stay when we traveled to PA for a family wedding. It is definitely rural so a great getaway if you are looking for something peaceful and tranquil.
Linhaven Lodge provided our group of 7 adults and 2 children with a comfortable and nicely stocked rendezvous spot. Cindy provides the towels, shampoo, soap, kitchen amenities galore, and comfy made beds. Our winter weekend, however, turned a bit muddy when temps soared to 60 and snow was hard to find. Hiking at Ricketts Glen and a fire in the fire ring were outdoor highlights.
