About Ruth Sechena
John and Ruth Sechena live in Seattle, WA. John was born in Great Falls, MT and his heart is still there. We come home to Montana for 2 or 4 weeks a year; it keeps us sane.
Ruth Sechena purchased this Cabin in 2010
Why Ruth Sechena chose Cascade
We know the Dearborn. Born & raised in Montana, John and his 2 brothers have floated and fished the Dearborn since the early 70's. One brother bought 33 acres and Grandma brought 28 acres (for the grandkids) just one river bend up from our log cabin & made it possible for all of our kids to swim, fish, hike and bike there. The oldest has just entered college & we are sure he will keep coming back. Over all these years John has always wanted to buy the property upon which our cabin stands because of its inherent beauty and its incredible swimming & fishing holes. When it came up for sale last year we knew we would never get another chance.
What makes this Cabin unique
You don't have to leave the property to have a great time. Get up, catch breakfast, take a swim in some really beautiful swimming holes. Hike or bike the property. Put your boat/floation device in right from the property and float to the Missouri River or put in at Hwy 287 (up river) and enjoy an incredibly scenic all day float.. BBQ dinner on the spacious deck with friends & family; watch local wildlife cross the meadow in front of you on their way to the river; hear all of natures sounds because it's quiet.

The cabin is just as it appears to be on the website--well built, as up-to-date as is possible in such a remote location, beautiful surroundings. Loved everything about it.
Fantastic Mountain Retreat
We just returned from the most wonderful and relaxing vacation at Two Feathers Lodge along the Dearborn River in Montana. The log cabin had a very western mountain atmosphere. It was decorated with Charles Russell prints, wood carvings, and unique furniture made from out of tree branches. There were displays of rocks, arrowheads, saddles, etc. We also appreciated the books on identifying the birds, animals, and plants there. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed or wanted. The setting and scenery was an unbelievable panorama of mountains, a meadow, and the river that was serene and relaxing. The Dearborn River made me wish that I was a fly fisherman. We loved sitting on the deck soaking in the majestic beauty of it all. My wife, who is not a "wilderness woman," thought that the setting was one of the most spectacular and relaxing setting that we have been to. She admitted that she had been nervous of being off the grid and in the mountains, but after staying there, she said that she would definitely like to go back sometime. Bob, Laura, and Ruth were fantastic hosts. Thanks for allowing us to stay. Bruce and Peggy, Bismarck, ND
If you are a corporate beast this is the place to reset. The combination of A Beautiful Place with the Gods Majesty will forever last in our memory. A complete detox from the daily grind. Awesome Host in Laura who was there for all your local needs off the grid was Amazing. Magical Stay!!
This is the most amazing cabin! The cabin it’s self was perfect. Love the decor and being off grid. You were self aware every moment and time was only defined by the sun! The river left us speechless. The water was crystal clear and we never saw another human while we were on the river. Wildlife was seen every day! The road to the cabin was a bit tricky but the place was well worth it!! If you want seclusion, peace and the best porch in the world you have no need to look further. This is your place! Let time stop. Enjoy nature and those around you... this place was a miracle!!!
Such a beautiful property.
The off grid getaway
Awesome place away from everything, but with everything one might need. Surroundings are breathtaking. Breakfast on the porch with deers and eagles passing by is hard to beat.
