We were looking for a quiet place to spend the weekend. We were not disappointed with this property. Place was clean, had a fireplace, and manager sophie answered all of our questions. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet stay away from the tourist of the other towns. We will be back here when we decide to go on vacation again to door county!
We enjoyed our stay. Sophie was very accommodating. Relaxing atmosphere. Just what the Dr. Ordered.
It was a pleasure hosting Cheri and her daughters. She was very gracious and they took good care of the cottage. I would highly recommend them as guests!
Great place , we will back next year
We are so glad to know you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again!
quaint lovely cottage
Quiet location, small but adequate. Wonderful and thoughtful host. Had brochures and recommendations. Weather was perfect for us, but if it was super hot no air conditioning just ceiling fan. It was as described, and pictures represent property perfectly. It was what we were looking for and we had a terrific time here.
Good value, quaint and enjoyable.
Great place for peace and quiet. Owner very accommodating, pleasant to work with. You will enjoy your stay. A step back to back in time to an old fashioned cottage stay from the 50’s - 60’s.
Nice quiet location.
Cottage was adequate for this trip. Had no storage, or closet to place luggage and hanging cloths. Very few electrical outlets. Description mentioned that there was small water view, but there was none at our unit. View of large garage and brush along side of road. Was disappointing because when we went for walks we could see the gorgeous view.Furniture was not comfortable to sit on. Thankfully we had perfect weather and were on the go or on the deck. Beds were comfortable. Quaint cottage that needs a bit of TLC.
I am sorry you were disappointed by your stay at Terra Cottages. We try to provide simple and comfortable accomodations for an affordable price. However they are traditional cottages and not hotel/motel rooms or a condominium which probably would have been more adapted to your needs and I would have been happy to have made other recommendations.
I was unaware in your several texts you sent me that you were uncomfortable and provided the additional linens requested within a few hours. Because your Mother was 82 yrs old and you said she would be spending time on the deck ,we tried to reserve the quietest cottage with the least walking distance to your car.
I was glad to know from your text that you enjoyed your time with your Mother in Door County!
The cottages are located in Gills Rock at the tip of the Door County peninsula, known for its expanses of water, islands and unique light. You can witness some of the most beautiful sunsets in Door County at the port of Gills Rock on the waters of Green Bay and catch the sunrise in the morning only a few miles away on Lake Michigan.
Walk in one of the nearby parks, launch your kayak, go fishing, swimming, cycling or take an excursion boat to Washington Island during the day. Enjoy a wonderful meal at a nearby restaurant or simply a quiet evening at your cottage preparing local foods and sitting around the campfire.
