Beautiful House, Unobstructed Lake Views, near to many Different Attractions
About Roberta Heady
This lake house is privately owned and managed by an intellectual property attorney and an electrical engineer who live in Johns Creek, Georgia, both graduated from Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN), and have four children, all graduated from Georgia Tech (Atlanta, GA). The attorney graduated from Marquette University Law School (Milwaukee, WI), and has been employed by Locke Lord LLP for 16 years. Prior to that, she worked for Abbott Laboratories (Waukegan, IL), G.D. Searle & Co. (Skokie, IL), and the law firm Fitch, Even, Tabin & Flannery (Chicago, IL). The engineer is employed by Gates Corporation. One of their children is an industrial engineer employed by the Chick-fil-A corporate headquarters (Atlanta, GA). Another child is a quality control supervisor for Tyco International (Lithia Springs, GA). A third child is a logistics specialist for Altria (Richmond, VA). The owners manage this property themselves and provide very personal service directly between the owners and their guests. They try to be available for all of their guests at all times, and they keep this lake house in a top condition.

Why Roberta Heady chose Dawsonville
This lake house has unobstructed views of Lake Lanier all year long, with outstanding views of the lake from the master bedroom, kitchen, eating area, screened porch and deck. It is located in the Overlook Subdivision, which is a family subdivision, about 10 minutes from the North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall (with scores of outlet stores and a food court), about 30 minutes from seven different beautiful wineries in the North Georgia mountains, and about 20 minutes from Lake Lanier Islands, which has wide-ranging activities and adventures for every guest, from the water park and beach at Margaritaville at Lanier Islands to horseback riding and golf getaways, to boating, spa escapes, camping, and more. Further, this area of Lake Lanier generally has far less boat traffic than many other areas of this lake, making it safer for children who want to enjoy various water activities. We purposefully chose this area of Lake Lanier in our lake house hunting endeavors in order to keep our own four children as safe as possible. Also, it is an easy walk down gently sloping grass to the lake from this lake house, which is in contrast to many lake houses on Lake Lanier that have scores of steep steps required to reach the lake.
What makes this House unique
This property is very peaceful, and very beautiful, but is located near many different types of activities. It is located on a gently-sloping massive lawn that leads to a deep-water cove (one that will not dry up during a drought) on Lake Lanier.

We truly enjoyed staying here. The layout was perfect for us, lots of space and different areas to relax, converse without tripping all over each other. The kitchen is well equipped and exceeded my expectations to be honest. The view is spectacular and even though it was chilly, we couldn't resist kayaking in the lake.
The screened in porch was by far the most popular place for us.
Our hosts were very easy to communicate with and we lacked Nothing. We honestly didn't expect all the comfort details that were provided.
The location was perfect, close enough to shopping yet tucked away in a quiet and charming neighborhood.
Our only regret was not being able to stay longer :)
We had two families and 5 kids ages 11-17. It was a great layout of the space. We loved the screened in porch!
Beautiful lakeside stay
The house was located in the perfect cove with clean, calm and warm water. The house had the most equipped kitchen we have ever stayed in. Owners were easy to access and answered questions right away.
recommend to others
Clean, everyone liked well supplied interior & layout of rooms. Several could get Y-fi but part of the time. Great lake & enjoyed tying up our boat in evenings along side of pier. Friendly neighbors.
We want to point out to potential guests that we have 100 megabits/second (very high speed) Internet throughout our lake house provided by Windstream, the only Internet provider currently in this lakefront area of Dawsonville. The writer of this review had 12 people (a very large number) using the Internet at this house (a much larger number of people that typically use Internet in any given house). We, as the owners of this lake house, have not experienced any issues with the Internet at the house. We specifically upgraded the Internet at the house to 100 megabits/second, so that we would have very high speed Internet at the house for us and our rental guests.
peaceful and serene
This was a peaceful place to have a family vacation.
Our favorite times were on the back porch.
We enjoyed cooking in the well equipped kitchen, canoeing in our canoe on the lake, or playing badminton.
The Chestatee wildlife preserve and zoo, along with a trip to Amicolola State Park were good side trips with our grandchildren.
Very nice well equipped home and nice dock for boat.
Our family enjoyed the home and property for our stay in the area. Beautiful view of lake and the house was perfect for the eight of us. Shopping close by and we had fun hiking the parks and visiting a zoo. The dock provided us use of our boat to fish. November was quite in this area.
Thank you for this nice review of our lake house. It was unfortunate that a City of Dawsonville water pipe located near our lake house subdivision happened to break during your stay at the house, and that the City turned the water off in the subdivision and surrounding areas for several hours. This has only happened one other time that we can remember in our 16 years of owning this lake house.
