Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday apartment in Florence - BELVEDERE

2 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, 2 Living-rooms. Panoramic terrace. Jacuzzi. Sleeps 4/5

Really beautiful top-floors apartment with elevator. Rooftop Terrace with amazing 360° panoramic views of Florence. Prestigious historic building in the city center. Beautifully furnished and decorated. All modern conveniences: A/C, Wi-Fi and ethernet points in every room; satellite TV, DVD; new fully-equipped kitchen with separate washer and dryer, dishwasher. Jacuzzi. From your bedrooms, you can see the Duomo and look out over some of the famous private gardens in Florence. It is so quiet it is like being in the country but you are in the middle of Florence, within walking distance of all the sights. Ideal for 4 persons (2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms). Enjoy a thoroughly Florentine stylish experience!

Centrally located in one of the most charming parts of the historic center of Florence, in the Borgo Pinti area, within 15 minutes or so walk of most major sights (but there are also buses if you prefer). And the best shopping streets! It is in a delightful city-centre small 'neighborhood' with its own good, reasonably-priced restaurants, coffee-bars and artisan shops. It is near the open-air food market of Sant'Ambrogio and the Piazza dei Ciompi antiques area in Santa Croce. Spa, swimming pool and fitness center are up the street. Rental rates are all-inclusive: all utilities (including central heating or A/C), Wi-Fi, very high-quality linen and towels, final cleaning, Florence City tax. NO extra charges. Discounts: 2 weeks or more. The apartment is in mint condition (completely restructured and restored in mid-2013). Perfect for honeymoons or special occasions.

The apartment is on 2 levels (floors 4 and 5, the top floor): the dining/living, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and ktichen are all on floor 4, the same level as the elevator. Upstairs, floor 5, there is the open-space living room and bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, a little 'writer's corner' and stairs to the terrace. Because of the lay-out of the apartment, there is privacy and space to spread out. The apartment has a really spacious feel - over 100 sq. metres/1100 sq. ft. The apartment could comforably take 6 people but we have a normal maximum occupancy of 4 persons to enhance your experience. Exceptionally we will take 5 guests depending on the composition of the group.

Floor 4:

• Dining/living room

• Very fully-equipped new kitchen with dishwasher, separate washer and dryer and all electrical appliances including microwave and American and Italian coffee-makers.

• 2 very comfortable bedrooms with beamed ceilings. One bedroom has a large double bed with en-suite bathroom. The other bedroom can either be a large double or a twin (2 single beds), and has its own private bathroom literally 2 paces away. Both bedrooms have views of the Duomo and overlook private gardens.

• Floor 5: Open-space living area with a double sofa bed which has a genuinely comfortable mattress. Adjoining bathroom with Jacuzzi with stunnning view of Florence! If a guest does not want to share a bedroom, this area can be used at night as a sleeping area with complete privacy. There is also a 'writer's corner' on this level.

• Panoramic small rooftop terrace with amazing 360 degree views of every monument in Florence: perfect for a drink or snack at the end of the day. Seating for 4, and a canopy for shade.

• A/C in every room.

• Wi-Fi and fixed ethernet connections throughout.

• Beamed ceilings, marble bathrooms, beautifully decorated.

The apartment is in a beautiful and impressive building, dating back to the 15th centrury. The apartment has been fully restructured and restored with immense care, using the the finest Tuscan materials, with tiles, beamed ceilings and fine features in wood and wrought iron by master craftsmen. It is beautifully decorated and furnished in an understated way: everything is of the highest quality, with top-class Italian linen, towels etc. It is airy and bright.

When you leave the apartment, all of Florence is at your doorstep!

Check-in: By appointment, between 4-8 PM (16:00-20:00). If you would like an earlier check-in, please ask us and we will do our best but we cannot guarantee it. If you want to arrive later than 8:00 PM, please contact us BEFORE booking to make sure this is possible. There is also an extra fee for late arrivals.

Check-out: by 10 AM (10.00) at the latest.

Parking: An enclosed parking garage with attendants is less than 1 minute walk from the apartment. This is a real advantage as otherwise it is impossible to park or bring your car into the historic center. Contact us for details.

We will go the extra mile to make your stay in Florence unique and enjoyable:

• Make museum and restaurant bookings;

• Give information on day-trips from Florence, tours, and events taking place during your stay in Florence.

• Book visits to Tuscan wineries in Chianti, Montalcino (home of Brunello wine), Montepulciano etc

• Organize limo service with driver for your arrival and departure, or for touring the unique Tuscany countryside: Chianti or Brunello wineries, the Cinque Terre, Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa and Lucca. Or visit the famous fashion outlet malls outside Florence.

• Want to do something unique like ballooning over Tuscany, go to a special opera, concert or jazz evening, or find the best place for salsa dancing in Florence - just ask us!

About Owner

I completely restructured and renovated this property. It is in a beautiful historic building (15th century, with 18th century makeover!) and doing the restructuring took a lot of time organizing the best Florentine craftsmen and artisans for furnishings and drapes (nearly everything was custom made for the apartment). It was a long process, but I hope you will think it was worth it.

Owner purchased this apartment in 2013

Why Owner chose Florence Area

The historic building is beautiful, and the small panoramic terrace has extraordinary 360 degree views of Florence. The bedrooms overlook private gardens and you can see the Duomo from each bedroom. The peace and quiet in the apartment is amazing.

What makes this apartment unique

This area is my favorite in Florence. It is central - so you can walk everywhere - and at the same time it has a real 'small neighborhood feel' which is unique in the city centre. In the neighborhood you have restaurants, coffee bars, small shops and pharmacy, and yet you are near the big tourist sights. The Sant' Ambrogio open-air food market is a short walk from the apartment as is the Piazza dei Ciompi Antiques Market. Piazza Santa Croce and its vibrant area is nearby (but not too near!). I provide an information sheet with recommendations for local restaurants etc.

Thank you Cesare for renting to us your wonderful apartment and most of all your wonderful support and help!!! You are the best!

Fantastic Apartment in Florence

  • 5 of 5

We spent 2 weeks at Cesare's apartment in Florence and can only echo what other people have already written. Cesare has thought of everything. The apartment does not seem like a typical rental as it features high-end amenities throughout. Lots and lots of room with the ability to spread out from the main floor that has a kitchen (including washer and dryer), a dining area with quality dishes and glasses, one bedroom with bathroom, and a second bedroom across from a hall bathroom. The bedrooms are both large and have more than ample storage. The Duomo is visible from both bedrooms. The second level includes a living room, bathroom, and nook with a desk. There are stairs that lead to the terrace above. The terrace offers room for 4 and a 360 degree view of the surrounding area. Beautiful by both day and night. Great air-conditioners. Perhaps the greatest feature of the apartment is Cesare himself. There is a hotline phone in the apartment you can use to reach him with questions about anything Florence. You need tickets to a museum? Cesare can set you up. You need a recommendation for a restaurant? Cesare is the man. Need a taxi to the airport or train station? Cesare always gets you one you can count on. The apartment, located on Borgo Pinti, is just a 10-minute walk to the Florence action center. The Tom Hanks movie Inferno was being filmed during our entire stay in Florence, and they were actually filming on Borgo Pinti one day. All in all, if you are searching for a wonderful apartment for your stay in Florence, you can stop your search now.

Our Home in Florence - PARADISE!!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a month in this marvelous apartment in a terrific neighborhood. We needed a spacious, home-like apartment well-equipped for cooking and with easy access to grocery shopping and public transportation for sightseeing and train travel. The Belvedere was the PERFECT place. The apartment is exactly as shown in the photos, but even better in person. Every inch is spotlessly clean, freshly painted and decorated with art and books and attractive, comfortable furnishings. Bathroom towels are big and plentiful, there are large armoires for storing clothes, great laundry facilities (even with a clothes dryer - very unusual in Italy!), a rolling trolley for grocery shopping, extra umbrellas, and the WIFI is very strong and reliable. We had hot days during our stay and the AC was great. We planned to cook most evening meals in the apartment so the modern kitchen was a real bonus, including a 5-burner gas cooktop and all the cooking pots/pans and serving dishes anyone would need. Cesare has thought of everything a guest might want. There is no noise in the building, neighbors and nearby shop keepers are very cordial, the apartment is in an extremely nice, pedestrian-friendly street with an excellent coffee bar and a lovely public park close by. A Conad grocery store is within easy walking distance and by adding 6 minutes you reach the St. Ambrogio market with an amazing array of fresh Italian produce, meats, cheeses, hand-made pasta and ready to take away meals. By using the Colonna bus stop at the corner with numerous bus lines, you can quickly reach all the historic sights and train station. One of the exceptional aspects of the Belvedere is the owner, Cesare Sesto. His greeter Marzio helped us with our luggage and explained everything in the apartment. Cesare was always responsive to my many questions both months before and during our stay, including travel directions to other towns. He called or emailed me frequently to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction and expressed pleasure in hearing about our Tuscan activities, as well as suggesting other things we we might want to do and see. Because we were there a month, Marzio and his helper came to do a thorough periodic cleaning, change the bed linens and provide fresh towels. This was so nice! To sum up our glowing opinions about the Belvedere and Cesare Sesto, I will simply say this: This is a REALLY FANTASTIC place to stay. Call the owner, Cesare! You will be very happy you did!

Lovely apartment in quiet area and the owner is terrific

  • 5 of 5

We were two active retired couples traveling in Italy for three weeks. This is a lovely apartment on three levels. The first level has the two bedrooms and baths, the kitchen and dining area. The second level has the living room and the top has a small terrace that overlooks a part of the city. It was a fabulous view. It is in a quiet area of the city in the historic district and is about a ten minute walk to a few local eateries and a fifteen to twenty minute walk to the larger piazzas near the Duomo and Uffizi. There is a coffee and pastry shop right next door to the apartment which is very convenient and the Four Seasons Hotel is just down the street. Go there for a glass of wine and walk in their beautiful gardens. The apartment has a lot of stairs if you wish to climb them but if not there is a slow elevator. The apartment was clean and had a good washer and dryer. It was equipped with everything we needed including all the goodies the owner gave to us when we arrived. I cannot rave enough about Cesare, the owner. He was absolutely fabulous. He arranged for the four of us to stop for a delicious lunch in Cortona on our way to Florence and he arranged transportation for us when we left. He gave us so much information about the city and just made our stay in Florence even more special. Thank you Cesare.

Beautiful apartment, exceptionally helpful owner!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great apartment with an exceptionally attentive owner. The bedrooms were spacious and the extra full size bathroom was a real plus. The view from the roof top patio was breathtaking! Cesare not only answered our questions promptly but took the time to suggest a tweak to our original itinerary for a day trip. The day in Cortona was beautiful, and would never have happened had it not been for Cesare's help!

All we can say is Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

Not enough words to say how great the place is so I'll try to keep it short. You are greeted with Maximus at the door, no much English but he shows you everything, super nice fella. As far as the place, great location, great views from the roof top terrace, fully stocked, good beds, the condo is perfect, there is an elevator if you need it but the stairs are a great way to burn off all the amazing food. The most important thing about this place is the owner, Cesare, I can't thank you enough, you were like our concierge and friend. What ever we needed he was a text away or a call. He made us feel so at home and was always able to give great suggestions for everything. We have never had an owner be so available before in all the places we have ever rented. We may be ruined for all future travels as the benchmark is set so high now. If you want real food, and I don't mean the touristy restaurants I'm talking the real deal. Listen to all of his suggestions, hands down our favourite was Accadi. It gets busy so go early for the best service ever and best Italian food I have ever eaten, it's a 2-3 min walk down the street right on Borgo Pinti; If you go during busy times 8-10 it will be slow slow slow, but sit back drink €5 half liters of wine and soak in Italy. For pizza, for us anyway, hands down again another suggestion from Cesare was Il Pizzaiuolo, go off hours or prepare to wait a bit. Just get a beer or wine and you can wait in the piazza outside. So many more great places, (I would avoid La Giostra as it is very average - great atmosphere but food is like old spaghetti factory) Overall, nothing but great things to say about the place and Cesare, I'm sure I have much more to say but that's the nut shell. Everything is 15 mins away tops, walk everywhere. The owners of Cafe Mingo on the corner are fantastic and the cappuccino's are amazing.

Only shame was not being able meet Cesare in person, maybe next time. Cheers!

Florence is one of the most popular destinations in the world and deservedly so. Stunning art and architecture, great food and wine, and the beauty of the surroundings make Florence the ideal city for a short city-break or for a longer stay all year round. Florence is a lively city, with open-air markets and a vibrant street life. The Sant' Ambrogio open-air food market is a short walk from the apartment as is the Piazza dei Ciompi Antiques Market. The world-famous San Lorenzo Market is within easy walking distance of the apartment. There are numerous theatres and music throughout the year.

From Florence, you can easily explore nearby gems like Siena, San Gimignano, the beautiful Chianti wine region, the Cinque Terre, Pisa and Lucca. A trip to Fiesole, in the hills above Florence, is about 20 minutes by bus and goes through amazing scenery. Take advantage of the high-speed rail network to visit Rome (90 minutes) and Venice (2 hours 5 minutes) while using the Florence apartment as your base.

Parking: An enclosed parking garage with attendants is about 3 minutes walk from the apartment. Reduced cost for our guests. Contact us for details.
