Modern, Simple 2 Bedroom Cottage as Seen in Country Living

Bedrooms 2
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-7)

Beautifully restored 1800 two bedroom cottage set on 2 acres of sugar maple trees. The house is only 850 sq ft but it is perfect for a couple or family who want a clean, modern house with gourmet kitchen, good quality linens and quiet location.

The house is great for little children with toys and games but is also uncluttered and sophisticated.

Our house has 1 queen size bed in one room and 2 twin beds in the other room. We provide twin Aero beds if you need more than two twin beds. It is comfortable for two or four adults or two adults and two kids. Both bedrooms are upstairs. The bathroom is downstairs.

We have a dog who stays at the property when we're there. We welcome well behaved dogs.

Our kitchen has all new appliances - including a large range with central grill. Our knives are sharp and we have most cookware and utensils to cook whatever you like. We keep it stocked with most things you might need a bit of when cooking - spices, sugar and flour, etc.

There is a seasonal creek running just feet from the house and through the property. It runs most of the year and there is a fence to keep kids and dogs away if necessary.

The house has Wifi, iPod/Phone stereo dock, DVD player (with some DVDs and Apple TV (including Netflix watch instantly).

We have a gorgeous little cabin a few hundred feet from the house. With windows all around and set in the woods, it is a lovely place to sleep. It was built as an artist's studio and does not have running water. It has a wood burning stove but no central heat and electricity, if required is via an extension cable. It is a great place for two people during the warmer months but isn't for everyone. The cabin is only suitable for those capable of walking up a fairly steep, unpaved path. Please contact us for photos or more information.

We are located between Hudson, NY and Great Barrington, MA. Close to skiing, swimming, great restaurants, farms and hiking.

We are located in a wonderful part of New York State that has things to do in every season:

Fall - we have hundreds of maple trees on the property and the fall colors are spectacular.

Winter - Catamount ski resort is 3 miles away or snow shoeing at the new RoeJan park.

Spring - hiking in the Berkshires or visiting one of the many farms in the area.

Summer - swimming, Tanglewood or cooking out.

Please contact us with any questions.

Keywords: Woodland, Berkshires, cottage, skiing, swimming, hiking, cooking + restaurants.

Comfortably sleeps 2 adults and 2 kids but has room for additional 2 in separate cabin.

Perfect stay with friends

  • 5 of 5

This house / property is incredible. The home and cabin themselves are beautifully preserved and decorated. The kitchen is fully stocked with every kind of appliance you could ever want to make the best meals together. There is a wood stove that was a joy to build fires in. Everything is clear and clean yet comfortable and inviting. We took gorgeous hikes in the day and felt so lucky to come back to this special place. We are already dreaming about possible returns. We loved the area - the nearby towns and the stunning nature surrounding. There is a rushing creek that goes through the property so you can hear moving water at night. There are skylights and a clawfoot bathtub... This home is the perfect balance of antique aesthetic choices mixed with well-functioning contemporary comforts. THANK YOU <3

Perfect Winter Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Spent a memorable 4 says at this perfectly appointed cottage. The owners have thought of every little detail for their charming home and it shows. If you like to cook, the kitchen is perfect. The wood burning stove makes the house cozy on a snowy winter night. While we didn't use it, the extra cabin is a great addition - I can imagine how fun in summer it would be to sleep there. Loved being able to bring our dog and he had a blast running up and down the snowy hill and warming up by the fire. Well located to ski resorts, quaint town of Hillsdale and other nearby attractions. Can't say enough great things about this cottage!

Great change of pace

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time for two weeks. Plenty to do nearby and the house is cozy and the kitchen is very good. Our dog loved it as well. Having no tv was a real plus, we played Monopoly and other games with our two grandchildren and got totally connected. Nice setting in the woods, quiet, peaceful and cool. I definitely recommend it.

Sweet Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time in this charming cottage! Modern but definitely with a lovely, antique feel. The yard has plenty of safe space for dogs to roam, and the sleeping cabin is one-of-a-kind with wonderful views from its little patio. Quiet dirt road, one car per day(?) yet close to everything. Highly recommend .

Perfect spot for our ski weekend away with our dogs

  • 5 of 5

We chose this house because of the location near Catamount and the fenced-in yard so that our dogs could run around.

The house delivered and we had a great stay. We really enjoyed using the well equipped kitchen and staying warm in the living room by the fireplace/stove. The dogs had an active weekend running around and playing in the snow.

This is a lovely cottage just minutes from the center of quaint Hillsdale and about 5 miles into the Berkshires of Massachusetts.

I booked the cottage for the weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was ideal for the two of us plus our two dogs who happily bounded about the fenced in yard. We didn't have to worry about them at all. And the cottage is far enough away from the closest neighbors that it didn't matter if they barked.

If you want to cook, just swing by the local food store to pick up what you need and simply prepare your meal in the fully stocked kitchen.

The best part if you stay in winter is the wood burning stove. It's fantastic and will keep you super warm.

The cottage was delightful!
