About the property

3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, sleeps 8+

Large spacious house for family and group gatherings. 5 minute walk to metro, restaurants, and pubs. The house is located on Cooper Circle in historic Ledroit Park. The National Mall, Capitol, Smithsonian Museums, and Chinatown are just 2 to 3 metro stops away. The White House is just 4 stops away.

This renovated rowhouse, originally built in the 1920's, has a large European professional kitchen open to the living room. Many historic details have been preserved like the original hardwood floors and ornate metal ceilings.

It's a walkable neighborhood with restaurants, a weekend farmers' market, organic dairy/market, and coffee shops. It's closer-in than Capitol Hill, but quieter than Dupont, Logan, or Georgetown.

*Offsite parking for 1 car. If you have more vehicles, I can get guest street parking passes for additional vehicles.

*High speed wireless internet.

*European professional kitchen with Sub-zero fridge, stone countertops, Miele dishwasher, professional range, waffle maker, and a lot more!

*Large private wooden deck.

*Dining room seating for 10.

*European style washer & dryer on second floor.

*HD Widescreen TV.

Ledroit Park is quiet, tree shaded enclave of Victorian mansions and stately town homes. It is designated historic district with wrote-iron lamp posts, brick sidewalks, granite curbs, and small manicured lawns.

About Austin

Former Army officer, attorney and owner of a European kitchen design studio.

Austin purchased this townhome in 2001

Why Austin chose Washington DC

The house is ideal for groups who want to be in a walkable neighborhood, close to metro, near museums, but need parking for one or more vehicles.

What makes this townhome unique

More parking available than most downtown locations. You can walk to some trendy spots: Big Bear Cafe, Bistro Bohem, Zenebech Injera, Shaw Tavern, Beau Thai, Right Proper Brewing Co., etc.

First off, being that it was Thanksgiving I thought it would be very difficult to find a somewhat reasonable price to stay in a house in DC, but I was wrong. Austin helped me every step of the way. I had never rented on VRBO before so I was new to it all. The house was amazing and the pictures do it absolutely no justice. There were plenty of blankets, towels and everything you need as if you were staying at your own home. I really cannot express the memories shared at this house with my family staying with me and I can say we will DEFINITELY be staying again. I cannot express either how much Austin made the trip so easy for myself and my family. From my family to yours, Thank you very much. Loved the entire experience.

Lovely house, fantastic location & great host!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this house with our grandparents and 3 children and the house was a perfect size for the 7 of us. I texted with the owner ahead of the stay and got very fast replies. Even, when we had an immediate need to communicate with the owner during the stay, he replied instantly and was very helpful. We strongly recommend staying here as the location is fantastic, situated on a quiet street, but only a few blocks away from all the happening.

Myself and 6 others spend a weekend here and it was perfect! Great walkability to the metro and some bars and restaurants. Clean and comfortable, I would recommend to anyone!

Just what we needed!

  • 5 of 5

This house was great! We had to reach out to the owner for a couple of things while we were there and he was super quick in responding. Four people stayed that all needed separate beds, and we had plenty of room (there are extra air mattresses in one of the closets) . As noted in the description, you do have to go through one bedroom to reach the other room in the back, which may be awkward if your guests need more privacy but this wasn't an issue for us.

The kitchen is GREAT. We were sad that we didn't have time to cook and hang out more. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks for everything, Austin!

My stay was awesome! I had 5 people who stayed there with me. They were all from Canada & they loved it also! I highly recommend this house to stay at.. Close to metro and leads right into downtown DC. Such a beautiful place! I had only booked 2 nights. I wish i booked more nights.. Definitely going back!

GREAT Location

  • 5 of 5

This property is great and the location was perfect for our college reunion. 7 people (all males) and we did not feel cramp. The location was within a 10 min. walk to all of our university main activities but when an Uber was needed it was less than 10 minutes to downtown. The house has a very nice kitchen. It was hard to find some items but they are all there. No need to bring any kitchen utensils. The back yard is great. If you want to cook out it is all there. Parking two cars worked well. One in the back and parking pass for the front street (you need the parking pass, if you park on the street). The host was great and always got back to me quickly. Hope this property is available next year for our reunion. Short coming: I was not able to find a supermarket nearby. I was expecting a Safeway but it has closed. There is a store around the corner that sales everything but pricey. Try to bring all you staple items you want to cook/eat/drink.
