We're two sisters who spent about 2 years looking for just the right place for guests, family and friends to gather. We were thrilled to find a place that had all the things we were looking for - amazing views, beautiful acreage, privacy, barns, hiking trails and a wonderful feeling of tranquility. So after lots of time with paint brushes, saws, shovels and loppers in hand, we are now so pleased to hear how much our guests enjoy their visits and that they love Onanda Sky as much as we do.
The Owner purchased this house in 2010
I was one of the group that rented your wonderful house this past Memorial Day weekend.
The entire property was a delight. We had the corner room and the view was breathtaking.
The atmosphere was very pleasing and comfortable. Seeing all the pictures of the renovation was a real treat. Knowing the complete history of where you are staying is an additional thrill. Hopefully we'll be able to enjoy your home on another occasion. I thank you for the giving us the opportunity to stay at your home and visit your town
This is the second time I and three friends have stayed at Onanda Sky. We loved every minute at this comfortable, relaxing, spotlessly clean and well-equipped property. The views on this weekend of peak fall foliage were breathtaking. Hope we have an opportunity to come again!
We stayed at Onanda Sky for a long weekend in October. From the moment we got out of the car and saw the amazing view we were enamored with the property. As we progressed to the house we were not disappointed. It was clean and bright and very welcoming. As we settled in we found our rooms to be very accommodating. There were plenty of sheets and towels and the fact that we could control our heat in each room was fantastic.
The kitchen was well stocked with cups and glasses and plates and any other utensils we needed. It was also very organized and had amenities such as plastic wrap and bags and coffee filters. Very usable.
The only area we all agreed that could be improved upon was the visibility of the property sign by the entrance drive. It would be wonderful if it was illuminated.
Overall though our stay at Onanda Sky was fabulous. A great place to stay while 6 friends enjoyed each others company.
6 of my best friends and I spent Columbus Day Weekend 2016 at Linda's home to celebrate three of us turning 50 years old! It was breathtakingly beautiful, inside and out. The view of Canandaigua Lake from the front yard at this time of year was gorgeous. Leaves were just beginning to change color. We enjoyed a bonfire the first night on the front lawn while sipping wine and relaxing in the Adirondack chairs. The house had multiple sitting areas where we could congregate all together or wander off to have private conversations, which we didn't do too often. The furniture is comfy and homey feeling. The decor was relaxing and warm. It was just like the description said it was. The five bedrooms provided lots of room for all of us. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding cozy. Having individual thermostats in each room was great since some of us either suffered from hot flashes or were chilly in the morning! We never had to wait using any of the 2 1/2 bathrooms....that's a big accomplishment with 7 women! LOL. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of useful items. We shared coffee and conversation every morning with one another. We visited Heron Hill, Arbor Hill, Hazlitt Red Cat Cellars and Inspire Moore Winery. We had dinner at The Historic Naples Hotel. We strolled around the 11 acres together; laughed and took pictures and enjoyed the pleasant weather and views. One day we went to Joseph's Wayside Market to browse and ended up detouring to Grimes Glen (a sort of mini Watkins Glen, NY) to do some hiking to see some waterfalls and foliage. Linda responded to any and all my questions within 24 hours. We'd certainly enjoy visiting again!
We are a group of mature adults in our 40"s and 50's who get together every year for a weekend in the Bristol Hills. This property was beyond our expectations. There is a picture at every window. We had a truly relaxing and enjoyable stay. Many of us said we wanted to live here. We are so happy we are hoping to book again for next year.
The only thing we would recommend is if you are planning to do a lot of cooking you bring pots and pans as we had to improvise on several occasions when cooking. If you have back problems you probably want to bring a lawn chair as the Adirondack chairs are not good for a bad back. And if you are a light sleeper, do not choose the master bedroom as the neighbor dog tends to bark off and on throughout the day and night. I noticed it but no one else in my party did. I though maybe it was because I have dogs and I am tuned in to the barking.
Our family rented this home over the New Years holidays and we had an amazing time!
The home was very clean, stocked with everything that you need to cook and had amazing views of the lake. Everything was very cozy - the rooms, the living rooms and the kitchen. It's a bit of a drive to the town of Canandaigua and it was easier for us to grab supplies and eat in Naples.
It's located close to Bristol Mountain which was the purpose of our trip. There's a breakfast place 5 min away with excellent food, and everything we tried in Naples was delicious.
We also did some hiking around the property using a cute map provided by the home owners.
Overall, we had a great time and will definitely stay again.
