|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
The south facing farmhouse enjoys sunshine all day. Privacy and tranquility are guaranteed as there are extensive grounds, and no immediate neighbors. The entire property has been sympathetically modernized in keeping with the original character with terracotta tiled floors and beamed ceilings throughout. It is built on two levels. Downstairs is the typical Ibicenco entrance hall/living room with wood burning stove, kitchen/diner with doors to a stone walled romantic kitchen courtyard,a beautiful place to enjoy your meals. Either side of the entrance are 2 double bedrooms. Upstairs is the 3rd, a master/bedroom with an open fireplace/sitting area and the spacious bathroom. Crossing a little Courtyard is the separate Guesthouse with a Doublebed and an onsuite bathroom.
Sit in the front of the house at the dinning table with the most amazing view over the valley, or lounge around the long pool .
The beaches nearby are of a big variety, family friendly, small romantic, one with all the sports activities or the famous Beniras beach.
Situated 3 km from the attractive village of Sant Joan de Labritja, which is located in the North of the island, the house is approximately 30 minutes by car from Ibiza town, 40 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from the sea and beaches of San Vicente and Portinatx. The detached property was originally a farmhouse or finca and because of it's thick walled construction is cool in summer and easy to keep warm in winter. It is spectacularly situated on a hillside location, with a panoramic view over the wooded valley below. In Sant Joan the following can be found: grocery, general provisions, banks, two bar/ restaurants, and a petrol station.
The property has a Wifi system which works in every room and outside 10GB a week available , if more needed it is possible to buy.
Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit mit unseren kleinen Babys in disem idyllischem Eckchen Ibizas. Die Blumen im Garten sind eine Inspiration. Genauso all die Details des außergewöhnlichen Hauses.
This is a truly wonderful holiday home, its the place to really relax and enjoy the peace and quiet and stunning views that are on offer.
San Joan is a lovely little town, boasting all the things you need, supermarket, , Pharmacy, Tobacconist and more than one lovely place to eat.
I cannot recommend the property highly enough.
Imagine your perfect holiday: great sight over the hills of Ibiza whilst swimming in a pool big enough for real swims; enjoying a silence which is only interrupted by songs of birds and cicadas, breathing in the scent of rosemary - then decide on which of the terraces you will lunch; take a trip to the sea and return after a dinner in one of the lovely restaurants to your comfy home with lovingly furnaced bedrooms... it was hard for us to leave. The perfect hideaway for urban people with kids and also for honeymooners - and for passionate drivers - the road to this really great place is challenging. But having managed the rather rough path we felt highly rewarded each day. Nothing is missing in this Finca, the kitchen is well equipped, everything is tidy, the beds are really good and the pool pure pleasure. The landlady Ute is helpful in all aspects and very friendly. You feel and see in every detail that she loves this places and wants you to love it too. We will be back.
We had a wonderful time in this magical spot. Our group of 4 adults and 2 children (aged 5 & 9) didnt want to leave. My family slept in the main house, with my 2 friends sleeping in the adjoining studio ... this worked out perfectly as they weren't woken up by early risers. This arrangement left the spare/tv room empty so there was certainly plenty of space.
The property itself is a charming old farm, with great facilities... it is obviously a lived in family home rather than a holiday rental and is equipped very well. It uses solar power to heat the water but does have a guaranteed hot water shower ... yes it is outside but there are no neighbours, just stunning views. We all got rid of our english inhibitions & used it alot.
Fredericke was very helpful in showing us around & even returned some left clothing items to us by post afterwards.
There is mobile phone reception but no wifi, but that is hardly a problem. Holidays, & this spot in particular, are all about relaxingl. The nearby village of St Juan has some lovely restaurants & you can log on there if you feel the need too. We particularly liked Le Giri and its charming garden, perfect for the kids to run about in safely.
There is a tv and dvd player with satellite tv with mainly German & French channels so we didnt make much use of it. I took lots of dvds for the kids to watch & they were happy.
As other reviews have said, the road is a long way up an unmade track ... up and around the side of the mountain, with some stunning sea views. The first time you drive it is an experience but it soon becomes part of the daily routine and you get quite used to it. This type of untarmaced track is very common in Ibiza villas .. i might hire a 4x4 if we revisit as the bottom of the car did scape a little especially when full of bags (we had a Ford Focus), but its a hire car so no stress.
The evenings in May were a little chilly but the summer must be sensational .. it was a shame we didnt get to use the yurt/tent in the grounds as that would be a lovely place to keep cool on a hot night.
2 years ago, a forest fire had ripped through the surrounding area but this has not destroyed the beauty of the place & the vegetation has started to grow back.
Ute, the owner, was so helpful while we were planning our stay. Thank you for your care and consideration, we hope to return one day to your Magic Mountain and will definitely recommend to everyone wishing to stay in the north of Ibiza.
We had a wonderful Christmas and New Years in Ibiza. This was made extra special by staying at 'Magic Mountain'. The weather was great so we were able to start the day having breakfast outside on the sunny terrace and then when it got chilly in the evening we had cozy times in front of the fire - very special! We were a family group with over sixties and then the youngsters in their twenties and everyone had fun. I can highly recommend the house to others.
My husband and I stayed at the magic mountain for 3 weeks in September/October. This was in preparation for our Ibiza wedding but also our honeymoon.
The pictures do not do this villa or its location justice - how could it, one cannot possibly capture heaven!
The views change on a daily basis and are more breath-taking by the day. Watch the sunrise, sunset, the shooting stars and if you're lucky a fantastic light show during a storm. The mountain (your own!) offers fun walks and foraging too.
The long pool and surrounding patio area is so beautiful and calm, the silence is wonderful - heaven.
The villa itself is cosy, simple and stylish in furnishings. It has so many nooks and crannies and various patios for dining inside or out with a huge selection of views to choose from. The views from the master bedroom will forever be imprinted in our hearts. It's a shame it was too hot to light that gorgeous fire.
Meditate to sunrise on the roof-top! And forget needing a walk-in wardrobe, the bathroom (walk-in and them some) will blow you away!
The drive to the villa gets easier each time and if you have access to a 4x4, the 8min drive is a fun and quick 4min (white knuckle!) journey.
The village of San Juan is very close by as are many beaches and access to the main roads which rest of the island.
If you are looking for a home with a heart, a location enriched with soul and views to die for, then this villa is for you, your friends and family - it's heaven (well as close as you will get in this life-time).
Thank you Ute and family for sharing your family home. Love pours from the walls.
Love, Danny and Isabel x
The Farmhouse, originally built in the 1600's, is situated in the mountains which are part of the nature reserve on the island, about 3km from one of the last original villages of Ibiza, Sant Joan. In the village you will find an amazing supermarket with food from all over the world plus an all organic food section, a bakery and a butcher. The Restaurants and Bars all have wireless and you can buy all the international newspapers. There is a pharmacy and 3 banks, plus a post office.
