Shooting Star is located mid-mountain (Empire Pass) in the exquisite Deer Valley Ski Resort. Decorated in the western lodge style, you might imagine you are visiting with the Cartwright family on Bonanza when you are our guest. Massive ceiling beams throughout, hardwood floors, and cowboy accents will have you feeling that you are back on the ranch. The large balcony and all rooms have breathtaking panoramic views over the vast Wasatch mountain ranges, and on a clear day you may even get a glimpse of Wyoming.

The Village at Empire Pass, while nestled by the slopes, is tucked away in a quiet, heavily forested mid-mountain area, yet it is only a five-minute drive from the restaurants and shops of Park City and Deer Valley's Silver Lake Village.

Located by the Silver Buck Run (Silver Strike Express Lift) on Flagstaff Mountain, Deer Valley - Park City Utah, this exclusive top floor (third) condominium offers a rustic, yet elegant mountain lodge atmosphere, reminiscent of the grand old lodges at Yellowstone and Yosemite.

Relax in the great room after your day of skiing with friends and family, gathered around the stone fireplace, while you watch a favorite movie from the DVD collection (40-in flat panel TV, surround sound, CD changer/cable music), or hone the family's skills on one of the many board games provided.

The bedrooms provide versatility with king, queen, and twin bed set-ups, while the loft has four bunk beds with lots of room for the kids to romp. A private office, with desktop computer and printer, permits that workaholic in your group to stay tethered to the office back home. The kitchen and baths all feature custom wooden cabinetry, slab granite counter tops, natural stone floors, and in the master bathroom, a jetted tub. Sub Zero refrigerator/freezer and Wolf range, of course, and washer/dryer. Children more than welcome. No smoking, no pets.

About Debroah C Davidson

Originally from Alabama, Jim and Deborah Davidson currently live in Maimi, FL. We moved to Miami 25 years ago from New York where Jim worked with Goldman Sachs. Here in Miami, he is Chairman of the Board of Coral Gables Trust Co. and is also Managing Director of Banyan Investors. We co-own the condo with our close friend Greg Robertson, also a former Goldman Sachs executive who is currently Chairman of TM Capital, New York. We offer Shooting Star 301 for rental because both Jim and Greg are still busy with their work and we have limited opportunities to get out to ski. Over the years, we have enjoyed skiing in so many beautiful mountain resorts, but Deer Valley is definitely our favorite ski resort and we feel most fortunate to own this beautiful condo in this exquisite location. Jim and I also own a private island in the Florida Keys ( and we offer it for rental as well. We enjoy owning both these properties and it is our goal to maintain the highest standards and offer our clients exceptional accommodations.

Why Debroah C Davidson chose Deer Valley

Deer Valley is the #1 ranked Ski Resort in the US and we think the location of Shooting Star is the best in Deer Valley, located mid- mountain (Empire Pass) with a view 50 miles out over virgin forests and the mountain ranges, but yet only five minutes to restaurants and shops. The short 45 minute drive from the Salt Lake City airport was a very important consideration for us combined with the convenience of a true ski-in/ski-out condo. Deer Valley has fabulous hotels, but we were looking to have a beautiful place where we could also ski in for lunch. Deer Valley dining is unmatched anywhere and Park City is a 5 minute drive back down the hill. We enjoy the skiing at Deer Valley with the beautifully groomed slopes and no snowboarders, although our son, who does like to board, just goes to Park City next door. There are other ski resorts nearby as well for those who enjoy variety, but we love the Deer Valley experience so much, it's hard to want to go elsewhere. Vail Resort has recently purchased the Park City ski resort and have made many improvements including adding a gondola that connects all the joining mountains. There are great things to do in the area during the summer as well. We love the fabulous hiking, mountain biking, water sports, Olympic Park, and many other diversions.

What makes this condo unique

We purchased Shooting Star 301 in the pre-construction phase and feel very fortunate to have been involved from the beginning. We loved the location and the view, but were sold on the unit after seeing the site plans and construction details of the developer. We got to enhance the size and look of our unit and add personal touches and finishes that offers distinction over the other condos.

  • All baths have granite counter tops with under mount sinks, marble tile floors throughout including the shower and tub area. Heated lamp fixtures keep you warm and most comfortable. The tub in the master bath is jetted for a mini 'spa' experience after a long day on the slopes. Those tired muscles relax when you turn the steam up in the shower.

  • The master suite is large with a beautiful view. The private bath has double sinks, a walk-in shower and a jetted tub. The master suite also has a walk-in closet and an office with computer/printer. The queen bedroom has a beautiful view, and a private bath with shower, no tub. The 'cowboy' twin room has a beautiful view and a private bath with tub and shower. The upstairs 'bunk loft' sleeps 4, but has no private bath. The downstairs powder room has a sink and toilet which those guests could use. The bunk loft was designed for kids who typically share their parent's bath. All the bedrooms have TV/DVD, etc. with the exception of the loft.

Fantastic Family Vacation in the perfect location

We just returned from a wonderful and too-brief family trip to Deer Valley. Deborah is a wonderful owner of a perfect vacation home. Paul was the on-site caretaker that was very kind and helpful. The space was the perfect size for our family and my parents. The location was directly on the mountain and couldn't be easier to ski in and ski out of. You stored your equipment in the large storage closet, popped on your ski's and you were off to enjoy your day. My three boys loved the bunk room, it was a perfect space for them. Furnishings were matched to the mountain location. All appliances were in great working order and the kitchen was stocked with great equipment for any meal at home. I did appreciate having a full spice drawer to borrow from, thank you! We would love the opportunity to return in the future if the dates work. Thank you!

Christmas week

Beautiful condo. The location is perfect! Great stocked kitchen (baggies, salt, etc). Perfect condo for our family (5 adults and 2 kids). We loved it. There was a few small issues, the water was turned off on Saturday for 2 hours with no notification. And the cable didn't work Saturday or Sunday. We understand but it was annoying! Also, the silver ware may need to be replaced. The handles hold water and we had numerous utensils lose their cap and pour yucky water on plates, floor, food. Just may need to be replaced? Thanks again for letting us stay

Owner's Response: Hi Aron, Thanks for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed the condo and loved the location, and I apologize for the inconvenience for the water being turned off Saturday for 2 hours. I was not informed of this action taken by the building management. It must have been an emergency situation because typically they would inform the owners well in advance if it had been a planned event. Regardless, they should have let everyone in the building know what was going on. As for the silver ware....I totally agree and am glad that you spoke up. Sometimes a cool design isn't necessarily practical. When we chose the theme of the decor for our condo, we were excited about keeping it upscale but a bit rustic and that silverware seemed perfect at the time. I can easily see that the charm has worn off and I will take care of that immediately. When you visit with us again, I can assure you that there will be new silverware in the kitchen. We enjoyed the condo and location!

Overall we enjoyed the condo. We do like to look at the ski lifts and did not realize that we were on the opposite side of the building but there were beautiful views. The staff in the building were very friendly and informative. I also think some hooks by the front door to hang winter gear on would be nice and a shaker for mixed drinks would be good to to have in the condo

Amazing place with perfect amenities! Great for large family!!

The Condo was perfect for our large family (3 families total). Plenty of private space, kids LOVED the loft. Ski in/out is 20 steps from the door!! Living room is cozy, could use some more seating for when we gathered at night, but open kitchen/living/dining room everyone could be included.......We've stayed 6x's in the exact area, but will be returning back to this property for sure!

Deer Valley, UT offers the #1 top rated skiing in the United States. Ranked by Ski Magazine as top ski experience in the world. Beautifully groomed slopes, outstanding local restaurants, luxury mountain top homes and condos, plus great hiking and mountain biking in the summer months makes this a fabulous place to visit. With Park City just next door, there is no limit to the great ski experience offered in this area. The fabulous shops and art galleries in Park City are worth your visit, whether you like to ski or not. The beauty of the area combined with the dining opportunities makes Deer Valley tops on anyone's list. Even if you're not into gourmet dining, there are many casual restaurants to enjoy. The Olympic Village remains very active as a training base for many of the top Olympic athletes, so make sure you plan to take a tour of the village. Sledding is located nearby as well as snowmobiling. If none of this sounds appealing, just sit by the fire and look at the mountain.

With the world class skiing, beautifully groomed slopes, outstanding gourmet dining, there is no place to compare to Deer Valley. Shooting Star #301 is located in the Village at Empire Pass, Deer Valley, UT which opens onto the Silver Buck Run on Flagstaff Mountain. Our unit is on the 3rd floor and has views from all rooms looking down over the beautiful valley below. The back side of the condo opens onto the Silver Buck Run and the Silver Strike Lift is just a few feet away. No climbing up the hill...this is a true ski/in-ski out condo. The decor is cowboy rustic, but all surfaces and finishes in the condo are very high-end. A heated parking garage on the lower level, ski locker on the 1st level and access to the slope side hot tub makes this a perfect ski retreat.

Many enjoy coming to Park City for the Sundance Film Festival, but don't realize that staying in Deer Valley fduring the festival makes a lot of sense. Shooting Star 301 is just a 5 minute drive from the heart of Park City and with the 'free' Dial-a-Ride service offered to our guests, transportation is door-to-door and very easy...with no parking issues. So, don't miss the Sundance Film Festival.

In the summer months, on Sundays, the Park City 'silly market' is not to be missed as a family event. Enjoy the local flavor of the town when the streets are blocked for local and other vendors to showcase their crafts and handmade 'mountain' theme goods.
