We have had the BEST week! The owner was very accommodating! The house was great and the pool area, oh the pool area!! We will DEF be back!! It was the fastest week of our life! Thank you, Shay!
The property was nice but somewhat disappointing. Due to the weather (rain & wind) the beach was off limits to swimmers because of rip currents. Other vacation properties provided beach chairs and cart to haul back and forth , this property does not. The surrounding homes are not so nice so this property needs a taller fence. The windows leaked rain on the front side of the house, the furnace filters needed to be changed the pool needed to be cleaned more often due to these circumstances. The foliage around the property needs to be trimmed back. Also wall need touched up and floor tile grout needs to be cleaned. Also there should be a book explaining what the home has to offer. There should be music available by the pool. The pot belly pig is fine but the frogs are noisy at night. The property is over priced for single family. If you're splitting cost with others then would recommend.
Salt water cafe
Our family and 2 others enjoyed the property. Having the pool was icing on the cake!! Location was farther East, which was great as the traffic was lighter but still close enough to get to enjoy all the activities. Other than a few pool issues, overall a great rental property. Thank you Shay for sharing your home with us. Ellen was great, very responsive!
This property is overpriced and I'll tell you why: first of all its not 2 blocks from the beach, it's over 4 blocks easily plus you have to cross a busy 4 lane road, Thomas Dr. with no visible crosswalk to help you. For family that has children this can be very time consuming and a stressful process. Who wants to burn up walking back and forth that far from the beach? Not us especially when you have to pack all your beach necessities with you. I didn't come to FL to drive my vehicle back and forth from the beach. We ended up renting a golf cart for the week for this very reason which was a $750 added expense I didn't need. The neighborhood is quaint, I'm being generous here. Let's just say this house is much bigger than any surrounding house in the area and some of the residents well that's another topic lets just say I kept the driveway gate closed each night. There is nothing cute about the pig that lives next door. From our deck the neighbors yard looked dilapidated and wreaked of pig s***. The pool was okay. The water jets didn't work properly our first 3 days until the pool company came out to fix it. It stormed our 2nd night and the pool, pool deck and chairs were full of debris from the surrounding trees. I'm a homeowner with my own pool and the lack of cleaning nets for our use was very disappointing. So was access to a blower or broom. Quite honestly for this amount of money a pool attendant should drop by the home every other day to clear the pool of debris and blow the pool deck off too. Tree frogs! Did I say tree frogs?! I like them, I'm an outdoors person but, OMG!! they were everywhere including the gutter downspouts of the house. Croaking, churping all night, loud!! Going to sleep at night was a challenge for my wife and I in the mstr bedroom. Beach & Pool towels not provided as stated in the amentities. Called owner and she said sorry we would have to go buy our own. 10 people, 10 mediocre towels from Walmart = $125!! Another expense we didn't need!! Speaking of towels. The property towels, wash clothes and hand towels were blue and terrible! So thin and scratchy to the skin after sunburn it felt like using shop towels on your skin! Furnishings mediocre, they were probably nice in their day but they were dusty and the couch cushions stunk. Mstr bath had foul odor of sewage each morning emanating from the tub, sink drains and toilet. Mstr bathtub, kids could not take a bath without the shower head coming on too when filling the tub.
Pros: - I absolutely loved this property. The house is very big with all of the amenities needed really. The location is an absolute plus since it is so close to the beach and really everything we could think of. The communication was excellent and I was able to get all of my questions and/or concerns addressed before we even arrived. The property manager Ellen was nice enough to let some family in earlier than our check in time. She was very responsive as well and I really liked that.
The pool is to die for and so much fun we played around and swam well into the night. The lights were the bonus as it allowed us to continue to enjoy! There was plenty of parking for all of the people we had with us and there was never an issue!
Cons: Though the house was huge and beautiful the central air was not working properly for the master bedroom. It was extremely warm and humid which caused my asthma to flare up just a little. The pool did not warm, and the jacuzzi did not work properly. Nothing ever worked with it except the water got a little warm but not hot for a jacuzzi. The BBQ was not working properly so we could not use it. We had to go and purchase a small one to use while we were there.
The cons are the only reason I gave the property 4 stars!!! Overall great experience for my first time in Panama City Beach!
