This two-bedroom condo unit was awarded a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor in 2017 for service quality and customer satisfaction.

Best for families, such as parents with up to 6 children, for a combination of grandparents, parents and kids, or for two couples vacationing together.

You're a one-minute walk from Kamaole II beach park in Kihei, with several lifeguards on duty 365 days a year. That's an uncrowded sandy beach conducive to swimming, snorkeling, sunning and sunset watching.

You're within a 10-minute walk of at least ten restaurants at all price levels - Mexican, Hawaiian, Thai, tacos, pizza, steak/seafood, Indian, natural food, a bistro/deli and more. (Indeed, so convenient is the location that some of our guests have managed quite well without a rental car.)

One portion of the condo consists of the master bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchen, while the other portion, separated by a heavy door, has two double beds and its own bathroom and lanai.

The air-conditioned unit has a new king bed in the master bedroom, two new double beds in the second bedroom, two bathrooms (one with a shower, one with bathtub), a fully-equipped kitchen, living room, dining area, washer/dryer, two private lanais and all the beach paraphernalia you might want.

Without any daily 'amenity fees,' you have access to all the Maui Banyan complex's amenities, such as the tennis court, outdoor grills, two swimming pools, jacuzzi spas and more.

The pools and hot tubs stay open until 9 at night, and right out our front door is a semi-private grassy yard with picnic table and BBQ grill that is perfect for a happy hour, get-together with relatives or outdoor suppers.

Usual occupancy is 4-6 people - or 8 if two kids are willing to sleep on the sofabed in the living room. There is a $10/night/person extra charge for more than 6 guests.

The unit is cool and quiet, with blackout curtains that allow you to sleep late, two shady, lighted lanais where you can sit out during the day or at night (without bugs!). They've recently trimmed the foliage, giving you a view of the ocean from the lanais.

NON-SMOKERS ONLY, PLEASE! There is no smoking allowed either inside or on the lanais.

With a ground-floor location, you won't need to lug stuff up and down stairs or wait for an elevator. The condo comes with beach chairs and umbrella, beach towels, snorkel sets, boogie board and kids' beach toys. Parking is free, with a multi-story garage that keeps your car from heating up in the sun.

We have on-island management so you can enjoy a carefree Maui vacation.

About Marcia

We live on a lake in Massachusetts, where we swim every day we can, and were looking for a spot where we could swim other months of the year. Hawaii was the 50th state we visited and Maui turned out to be perfect for us. Our Maui Banyan location is across the street from the best swimming beach in Kihei - no rocks, expansive, manned by lifeguards 7 days a week.

If you love to swim, bodysurf, snorkel or make sand castles, this is the beach for you. We love the fact that our unit is just a two-minute walk to the ocean, close enough to hear the waves when we are in bed, and yet far enough back from the road that traffic noise is not a major annoyance.

Why Marcia chose Maui

Maui is an island with many microclimates, and our location gets much less rain and less wind than spots even a mile or two away.

We were lucky to discover the Maui Banyan on our first trip to Hawaii, and while we looked at many other condo complexes, we didn't see any others with its convenient unit layout, quiet tropical setting and unsurpassed beach access.

Some more high-end complexes require you to navigate a steep hill to get to and from the beach or offer distant ocean views but no walkable beach access at all.

Also convenient are all the shops and restaurants within an easy walk that remain open till 8 p.m. or later.

Within the Maui Banyan complex, our location on the ground floor of Building F is perfect for visitors without the energy or ability to climb a lot of stairs, who want to be far enough away from the road to enjoy a good night's sleep yet close enough to get to the beach in no time.

Whereas some Maui Banyan units get miserably hot because of their placement relative to the sun, ours faces north, so that the lanais stay cool all day, every day.

What makes this condo unique

Be sure to bring binoculars! During the winter months, you can see whales with the naked eye at the beach across the street; the binoculars show you the whales' antics more clearly.

And you'll be entranced by the breathtaking sunsets at our beach. Almost every night, the sun turns the sky orange, yellow and pink in a dazzling display of nature's beauty.

We have even swum with giant gentle sea turtles here. And it's a joy to observe families bonding over the construction of architecturally complex sand castles.

I enjoyed opening the sliding door and taking my laptop outside to the private patio The pool and beach were just a minute away, and an incredible variety of restaurants were within a 10-minute walk. Except for a slow Internet connection, the condo met all my needs for a trip combining business with pleasure.:

Home away from home

We have stayed at this condo three times - once with the previous owner - and consider it our Maui "home away from home." Maui is awesome and we like having a familiar homebase, offering everything we need - especially portable beach chairs, plenty of towels and a good night's sleep! The current owner (their property manager, actually) was responsive with minor issues that came up - for example once some bulbs had burned out and got replaced within a few hours and another time we couldn't find any garbage bags. Not a problem in the grand scheme of things... We expect to keep coming back.

Close to beach, great pool, great for large families.

The condo was clean, spacious, and wonderfully close to the beach and the pool.

A BBQ at the pool and on the lawn was great. So nice to have the extras of sand toys and boards for the kids. Would stay there again!

The perfect place in Maui to stay

I do not know how anybody can complain about this unit. The unit was more than stocked upon our arrival. The unit was spotless. The location is by far the best in the complex. The owners were very easy to deal with on this property. We have stayed in this hotel 11 times and this was our first time in this unit. It is by far the nicest unit in the entire property. I would highly recommend it anybody who wants a perfect vacation.

Great for 2 Families Travelling Together

This centrally located property was fantastic for our 2 families. It was easy to get to the beach and shopping and having 2 pools was fantastic. The green space area right in front of the unit was used daily - and we loved being able to have BBQ's and eat outdoors. Thank you for having all of the toys, and beach gear for us - it was really appreciated! The kids played more than a few games of tennis so having that facility available was also great. The staff at the resort were really helpful as well. Thank you so much for giving us a home base away from home!

Needs to be updated location was fantastic

I appreciated the opportunity to stay in the Maui Banyan the location is fabulous but the condo could definitely use some updates.

The tile is in need of being replaced and the filters in the swamp coolers as well. It should be on Bello realty to keep the owners up to date on everything in the condo. The parking was problematic other buildings parking in the spaces for the F building. It was not completely cleaned prior to our arrival and we made a few adjustments like putting car air fresheners on the swamp coolers just to tone down the odor. Over all I did enjoy the location the bed was comfortable for us. And I did make sure to clean better then the tenants prior. I was unable to finish one load of towels but all of the sheets were clean and the beds were made prior to our departure. Thank you again.

Large unit but needs renos. Perfect location.

We didn't spend much time in the condo as we were out exploring. Maui is a beautiful place and the location of this condo is perfect. The beach across the road is fantastic and the surrounding restaurants, shops, etc. are within walking distance. Driving around both sides of the island is feasible (on separate days) leaving from kihei. The condo unit is large and we enjoyed the beach chairs, umbrella and cooler provided. The kitchen needs to be re-stocked as most things look very old and worn out. There were no wine glasses so we purchased some. The entire unit smelled like damp carpet and this musty scent did not go away despite having fans running, fresh air flowing and air fresheners sprayed throughout the week. The decor was outdated and the entire place could use a serious re-model. Everything looked very old. One of the bedrooms has see through doors so we had to put up sheets to cover the doors so that we could change and sleep in privacy. There was not enough toilet paper or garbage bags so we had to purchase some. I liked the layout of the place with the bedrooms being separated on either end of the unit and there were two bathrooms which was great. Having lanais was really nice but they could use some new patio furniture. The pool and BBQ area was nice as well. The key box entry was convenient and the parking was close to the unit (sometimes the lot was full but there was additional parking a short walk away). Overall the condo itself wasn't great (especially for the price) but the location was perfect and we didn't spend much time in the unit anyways. We really enjoyed our stay on Maui.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your feedback. We will of course reimburse you for the wine glasses you bought (Maybe our previous guests left them at the beach when watching the sunset?). We have arranged for the carpet to be cleaned. And we will definitely take your suggestions into account when we plan for renovations. We're glad to know you had a wonderful Maui vacation.
