GREAT NEWS....now you take the FREE shuttle (stop is across the street), right to the base of Gore or the newly improved Ski bowl (Weekends and Holidays 8am-4:30pm).

Location, Location, Location! You cant beat it! The PERFECT Apres' Ski destination. Right in the heart of the greatly improved village of North Creek. This quaint Victorian cottage is just steps away from the ever popular Cafe' Sarah on Main Street, as well as the brand new Bar Vino Wine Bar, restaurants and shopping, all are just a very short walk from our home (Save on GAS). Just around the corner, is the newly developed ski bowl, which includes night skiing. This is also the area that now connects with the historic Burnt Ridge ski area and the rest of Gore Mountain.

Other close by attractions: In addition to downhill skiing, cross country trails are close by, or a short drive to many miles of trails at Garnet Lake. North Creek is also home to the Saratoga North Creek Railroad, which offers scenic train rides along the majestic Hudson River all the way to Saratoga, all season long. Don't miss the ' Polar Express' show on the train this winter. What an incredible ride during any season. The village is also home to many white water rafting companies, hiking trails, kayaking and the Barton Garnet Mines. Don't miss the train museum at the depot!

The House: This Queen Ann Cottage features three bedrooms, one has two full size beds and a TV, one has a queen size bed, a full size bed and a TV, and the other has a full size bed, all are on the second floor. There are also two full baths, one of which has a whirlpool tub. There is a fully equipped kitchen that is open to the dinning room, a living room with cable TV and and Apple TV. There is also a laundry/mud room for all your gear, and a beautiful wrap around porch with chairs to enjoy the view of Main Street and the mountains. If you like architecture, this house has plenty of details to enjoy, from the quarter sawn oak staircase with oak paneled walls, to the stained glass windows or the beautiful inlaid parquet floors and the antique coal burning fireplace (please burn wood only).

We look forward to having you!

Exactly what we wanted!

  • 5 of 5

This place was just perfect. We stayed here over Christmas-New Year's week 2017, when it was below 0 degrees much of the time. The owner had gone out of his way to make sure we stayed warm and comfortable. He was very easy to reach for 2 questions we had. And the steps up to the house were kept completely clear of snow and ice. The house is an architectural work of art, with many really nice holiday decorations that made the place kind of magical. The kitchen had everything we needed, everything worked perfectly, and it was very clean. There were plenty of tv viewing options to keep 3 teenagers happy. It is also right in the center of town, which was fantastic, especially given the cold weather: Cafe Sarah is directly across the street for breakfast/coffee and lunch. Tops Grocery store is a 45 second walk down the block. And my favorite restaurant in the world for dinner - Trappers Tavern - is about a 3-4 minute walk. There is a charming hardware store right across the street. And the Hudson River Trading Company, also just a short walk away, saved the day for us by suggesting their kid's mittens as boots for my dog's paws when the cold snow and salt were too painful to walk on. They worked perfectly. The town and storefronts were all decorated with Christmas lights and it was beyond charming - straight out of Norman Rockwell! It was a really quick drive to Gore. The ski bowl is less then a mile away, and the rest of Gore is right next to that. In addition, Garnet Hill Ski Center, for x-c skiing and snowshoeing, is about a 15 minute drive away and, though we were there to ski at Gore, this was a highlight of our trip. It was completely uncrowded, had beautiful trails, was quick and easy to get rental equipment, was warmer than downhill skiing, and had a small cafe with hot chocolate, coffee and some lunch items. Between the house, the town, and all the skiing options, this was easily one of my favorite rentals (and we have rented a lot!). I'd love to return in the summer for hiking and rafting too.

Owner's Response: Loved having you and your family......great attitude, despite the extreme cold weather we are having! Look forward to having you back! We're always trying to give our guests the best experience possible....the awesome location doesn't hurt either! Still a few weekends left for ski season!

Location and Charm

  • 4 of 5

We loved our long weekend, so close to Gore! Clean comfortable home in Christmas and ski decor all around. Kitchen is big and able to handle cooking for a crowd. Our host was patient ( we lost the key) and even cleared the snow around the property after a couple of inches fell overnight. We will probably try to book next year at this same place.

Great Location-Great Ski House- Great Owner To Deal With!!

  • 5 of 5

We have been staying in this rental for MANY years and always have a truly enjoyable stay.

The home is very warm and very comfortable place to return to after a day out skiing/rafting/hiking/mountain biking..it has everything you might need while visiting The Creek...Rich the owner is always available and very accommodating person to deal with. The location couldn't get any better....7am opening directly across the street is Sarah's bakery(Pickup perfect coffee, breakfast and grab tasty sandwiches for lunch on the mountian-better and cheaper than buying at Gore)..Barvino 75 yards away(One of my fav places anywhere to eat- lunch/dinner or enjoy distinctive wine/beer)..Tops supermarket 100 yards away if you want to cook your self at the house. Shuttle bus is right across the street to Gore if you need a ride or want to come home early from skiing. Hudson River Store in town has something Adirondack for everyone and is enjoyable just to walk through. A 3 minute ride away is Basile& Wicks which is always has great food.
