Our spacious family rental home is located in Fitts Village, on the 'Platinum' West Coast of Barbados, a 2 bedroom, recently constructed semi detached town house, on two floors, set in landscaped gardens. One of just 7 pairs of houses on this development located in a cul de sac with private parking. The white powdery sandy beaches and inviting warm blue Caribbean Sea is a mere 200 yards walk away in Fitts Village, where you will also find a supermarket, restaurant and beach bar. Situated on the West Coast, the property is ideally located to enable easy access to all Barbados's attractions. At the end of the road are bus stops with regular buses to all parts of the Island, although we do recommend hiring a car so you can independently explore the Island. The capital, Bridgetown with its cruise ship port and duty free shops is 10 minutes by car and the neighboring Holetown with bars, restaurants and shops only 3.5 km. Beach, bar and a supermarket only 3 minutes walk from Ajoupa 12.

A great place to stay
A very comfortable holiday home, with all the amenities to hand, including an outdoor swimming pool. Beautifully maintained and very clean. Near to the beach and local bars with easy access to Bridgetown and the rest of the island by car or public transport. Make sure you try out Castaways and the Colony Club Hotel - excellent food and service. Highly recommend.
Well equipped and home from home set in well maintained gardens with swimming pool
Located in Fitts Village the home is a very short stroll from everything you need for a car less holiday. Its a few minutes stroll to the amazing sandy beach, warm Caribbean Sea (swam with a turtle), supermarket for your shopping and Il Tempio (Italian restaurant a bar - happy hour each day). If you want to venture further a field the $2 bus stops at the bottom of the road and will take you to Bridgetown and beyond or Holetown and further north. The house, roomy for the four of us is well equipped with comfortable beds, the master has a balcony with wonderful sea views and terrific sunsets. Towels were provided including beach ones with an assortment of sunloungers and chairs. The owners left a complementary welcome pack including rum, and cold beers. The manager Monica was very helpful. Have already booked to come back later in the year. The owners don't have a check out time so we were not rushed on our last day to pack up and leave and were also very knowledgeable providing plenty of information about where to eat and visit plus details about car hire. Thank you for letting us stay at your home.
Your comments are greatly appreciated and thank you for rebooking. Looking forward to welcoming you again to our home and Barbados
Lovely little townhouse in a great area
The unit was exactly as advertised and had everything we needed. The beach, supermarket and a great restaurant are all within walking distance. The bus runs frequently and is easy to catch either up to Holetown/Speightstown or south to Bridgetown/Oistens/Gap.
We spent most of time avoiding the crowds to the south and loved spending time on the beach right in the town centre in Speightstown. We also rented a car and esplored all over from the animal flower caves to St. Nicolas Abbey to Bathsheba and the ruins at Sam Lords (my favourite).
Would love to come back one day!
Wonderful location, all we needed!
We just returned from our week long stay at Ajoupa 12 and loved it! With 2 teenage boys along, the villa was big enough for the four of us and had everything we needed.
The grounds are beautiful and shady, and kept in very good condition.
The villa itself was spotless when we arrived and had all we needed a bit more (we discovered snorkel equipment in a closet which we put to good use). The only hiccup was that the internet provider had some issues, and our wi-fi was out for about half of our stay. Not a big deal, we wanted to get away from it all anyhow!
The public access to the beach is about a 5 minute walk from the villa, as is a supermarket. Very handy.
A previous review mentions the derelict vehicles nearby. the first lot between the villa and the beach is a parking spot for vehicles (presumably) in need of repair. It isn't nice scenery, but it isn't a junkyard either and it didn't bother us.
We would have no hesitation to return again, and we are already talking about it!
Great house, location in fact everything about it.
We stayed in this beautiful house in January 2015, and can't recommend it highly enough if you are looking for an affordable place, which is accessible to all the delights of the West Coast. As advertised it is perfectly equipped for four adults. It took less than five minutes to walk to Fitts Village beach, where we snorkelled every morning and found the showers and changing rooms very useful. The neighbours and local residents were all very friendly and ready to give advice about how to make the most of our holiday. We felt very safe in this location. A car was useful to explore other parts of the Island but there was a good bus service.
Terrific house in excellent location
Returned last week after three wonderful weeks in this beautiful house. It had all the facilities to make our stay very comfortable. There were four of us and we were all able to use the WI FI simultaneously. The kitchen was very well equipped to enable us to cook for ourselves when we wished. It felt like a home from home. Their manager was extremely helpful and cleaned the house and changed all linen on request. The house is situated in a quiet residential road, equal distance between Bridgetown and Holetown with a bus stop at the end of the road. Other reviewers have mentioned the field next to house which has cars parked on it. We were not disturbed by this and could see beyond the vehicles to the sea and watch terrific sunsets. The closest beach a short stroll away, was a regular venue for our early morning snorkel, where we saw a great variety of colourful fish. You always got a "hi" from the local residents who got to know us. We are looking forward to a return visit to number 12 Ajoupa.
Thank you SC for your comments. I'm pleased you found Ajoupa12
'a home from home' - well it's our home so it is furnished and equipped
as we want and not just for commercial letting. Great to hear our local
neighbourhood of Fitts Village welcomed you, it's real Barbados living.
Previous guests may not have appreciated it being a residential area and
missed the big blocks of condominiums which you find elsewhere on the Island.
We look forward to your return visit - don't forget to ask for the returning
Fitts is a fishing village with a supermarket (Jordans), restaurant and bar (Il Tempio). The beaches are white and sandy and the sea is blue and clear. Snorkeling is great you will see fish and even if you are lucky a turtle or two. Its midway between the capital Bridgetown, main cruise ship terminal, and Holetown where you can find late opening bars, restaurants and more beaches..
Other Activities: Short walk to beach - take our beach chairs with... 10 minute bus ride to Lime Grove Shopping Mall and Cinema.
