Stunning three story with plenty of space to spread out! Picture Perfect view for family of 4 or 8!!!
The location was fantastic, centrally located between all areas of attraction. And the view is remarkable in the Picture Perfect cabin. The pictures definitely make the cabin look double the size, but over all we enjoyed our stay.
While I will review this particular cabin, I will begin by putting it in context. Many people looking to stay in the area aren't locals or returning visitors and so it can be daunting to figure out where to stay. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are the two main areas in the region, separated by a beautiful 7 mile strip of the national park. This strip is referred to as the Parkway. In Gatlinburg, the Parkway is a bit more dense, pedestrian friendly, and a tad more refined. Thats not to say its not still fun in Pigeon Forge. Just more car oriented and a cheesy kind of fun. The towns are close enough that you can stay in either and access both easily. When I was looking for a rental, we considered locations in both. We got lucky and chose well: the location of Star Crest Resort in Seiverville/Pigeon Forge is perfect! From the base of the 'hill', its a very short few mile drive into the main strip of Pigeon Forge. Easy access to restaurants, shopping, and fun. Starr Crest Resort is a slopeside community with several property owners and management companies. There are cabins closer to the base with less of a drive and less of a view, and some nearer the top. By comparison, we drove to the top of the hillside community in Gatlinburg, near Ober. That road was awful. Super windy and dizzying.
Picture Perfect is near the tippity top. Because of that, it is a longer drive, but the views are incomparable. During the day, tiers of the mountains. The sunset is unlike any I've ever seen and you can see the night lights of Pigeon Forge after dark. The cabin is close enough to neighbors to not make you feel alone in the wilderness, but situated such that you feel a nice sense of privacy. The cabin was clean and well maintained. Everything worked perfectly. The hot tub which seemed a nice amenity turned out to be necessity after walking all day. The resort pool is at the base of the hill was always well maintained. Playground was awesome. We traveled with two kids,10 and 4. It was kid friendly, even if my helicopter instincts kept the kids close by on the high decks. We were lucky to see a bear outside our cabin on one of the early mornings.
Other details you may care about: there was a starter pack of dish soap, paper towels, laundry soap, even hand soap and coffee supplies. Plenty of bath towels. The only thing I found wanting was that the photo showed a desktop computer. There was none. Not a huge deal, but worth pointing out. Summary: great rental.
the cabin was so clean and exactly as described! The view was spectacular and could not be beat!! Our garbage filled up quickly and it would have been nice if it was emptied more often but my husband stood on the bear cage and got it to close. The beds were so comfortable and I didn't even miss my own bed once. It was the first vacation that I was a sad to leave and could have lived there "away from home" for at least another week! I am sure that we will be back!
We enjoyed a relaxing view of the mountains on our recent stay. When we were not sitting out on the balcony, the cabin had an arcade, foosball table, pool table, and air hockey to play. We had a problem with our hot tub, so we contacted the owner and they quickly had it fixed for us, no problem. They did not hesitate to tell us to call with any questions or concerns. We were in close proximity to DollyWood, Dixie Stampede, the outlet mall, and surrounding attractions.
Million dollar views, peaceful and relaxing. Nice and neat and clean. Kids had a blast upstairs in the game room.
I thought it was all good except the fact that we were locked out of the bottom part of the cabin. I guess because we only had four with us, but the description said there were 3 king size beds. My kids were excited because they thought they could each have their own but then we couldn't access half the cabin so they didn't get to. That was a little bit of a downer. I was also surprised to see there were no blocks on the satellite. As we were scrolling through there were some stations that I couldn't believe were on there, if you know what I mean. The kids were then not allowed to change the station at all while we were there.
