Best autumn foliage view.

  • 5 of 5

We were very lucky to have reserved the place right at the peak of the fall foliage season. The cabin sits on top of a hill and you get a breathtaking view of the mountain in front and right before the sun comes up on top of the hill, you get a peak of the lake down below. It was just a magnificent and serene view.

The house is very well maintained - it was clean, everything worked perfectly, the kitchen was stocked with all the necessities, and most importantly the bed was comfy!

The owners are very responsive and they even left us a bottle of local wine which was a nice touch.

I'd highly recommend this place. We can't wait to go back for all the other seasons.

Relaxing experience!

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful stay for the weekend. Clean, well kept chalet...pictures did not do the home justice! Well equipped kitchen, even most common spices. Small but cozy and comfortable. 3 bedrooms, 1 upstairs requires navigating a tight spiral staircase. Might not be doable for older people but for the young or young at heart a charming area! We went into and through Wardensville for a morning hike up to Tibbet Knob and then lunch at Lost River Brewery. Wonderful weekend with our newly married son and daughter-in-law.

Great getaway cabin

  • 4 of 5

Cabin is just as described & very well maintained. We enjoyed the fall colors & the Potomac Eagle train ride. We especially liked having breakfast on the screened porch. Owners were very prompt in refunding the damage deposit.

We'd stay there again & would recommend it to friends.

Wonderful Cabin, Great Hosts; Highly Recommend!

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful cabin in a very peaceful and beautiful location. I stayed with my husband and my parents for a long weekend to enjoy the fall colors & we all had a really enjoyable time. The cabin itself is perched on a hill with a beautiful view. We explored the National Forest as well as nearby towns, but my parents also enjoyed just relaxing in the cabin; enjoying the gas fireplace, the hot tub, and watching wildlife from the yard. They don't travel much and I'm so pleased with how comfortable the accommodations were, as well as how much the property had to offer. We had deer trot down the hill while we were enjoying the campfire one night! Warden Lake is just a few minutes drive away and we were able to take our canoes down and enjoy a boat ride. The cabin has super comfortable beds, was very clean, and had a well equipped kitchen that we were able to enjoy our meals in. No cell service (not that this is a bad thing...enjoy nature!) but great wifi in the house as well as a landline if you should need it. I think this cabin is a great rental no matter what you are looking for (adventure or relaxation), which makes it ideal for groups with mixed interests.

The hosts are very responsive and helpful with any questions you may have. They welcomed us with a bottle of local wine and also included a binder & attraction pamphlets with just about any information you may need while staying at the chalet. Prompt communication and detailed instructions prior to arrival. It was my first time in West Virginia and I do not hesitate to say we will be back! Thank you for sharing your space with us.
