Overview

About the property

3 Bedroom suites with full Bathrooms attached each with its own private deck.

Tucked away in the exclusive Anse Chastanet / Jade Mountain area of Soufriere, La Batterie villa offers complete privacy. You will find your escape at this luxury villa surrounded by lush gardens, a tropical swimming pool with accompanying cabana, lily pond and spacious decks. Located 300 feet above the Caribbean Sea facing the infamous Pitons there is no shortage of breathtaking views, cool island breezes and awe.

Moving inside, the villa is constructed of native stone along with teak and mahogany woods. Built in traditional Caribbean construction, the house has louvered plantation style doors that open to take full advantage of its abundant natural and tropical landscape.

The house has three bedrooms each with king sized beds and ensuite washroom to allow guests maximum privacy and can comfortably sleep a group of six. Each bedroom has its own lounging patio along with wardrobe closets. The master bedroom overlooks the Caribbean Sea while the two other bedrooms overlook the villa gardens. The rooms can be made with single beds if requested in advance.

Additionally, the villa has a loft over the living room that can be used to sleep two however we would recommend that they be in their teenage years to allow maximum comfort. In addition to the three bedrooms, the house provides areas for group gathering and entertainment such as the elegant terra cotta living and dining rooms which face the sea. The living room opens up to a 40 foot open teak deck that highlights the beauty of the Pitons where guests can enjoy the breeze while watching the boats pass by. The dining room offers a table that seats a party of six and is a great spot for enjoying amazing Caribbean dinners that can be requested through the house cook, Stephanie, for a nominal fee. For a change of scenery, breakfast can be enjoyed down by the cabana where a table setting allows you to ease into your day while listening to the waterfall hit the pool.

Words could never properly prepare you for the beauty that is Saint Lucia – come experience La Batterie and elevate your vacation to the next level!

Amazing. Stay here.

  • 5 of 5

The view, property and staff better than describe as you can't capture the feeling of being there in words. Perfect amazing trip. I would not rent a car and only use Clavie's services. The roads are very sketchy and they drive on the "wrong" side of the road. The only time we didn't use Clavie, we walked to the beach and took a water taxi (several parked at the beach all the time) to see the bat cave and sugar beach (Miss BeBe's daughter works there - both are sweethearts). Very fun boat ride. We had Stephanie cook all of our meals and it was a real treat. BK and Marilyn are a quiet reassuring presence. Terry will become "an old family friend". Michael the owner is amazing, answered all of our questions within an hour for every email. Now I will talk about the things I was nervous about before we went...the mosquitoes are not a problem at the Villa (end of March). We had a few bites at dusk, but nothing more than Northern Michigan in the summer. We felt very safe on the island and were treated very kindly every where we went. Our 17 year old son played a spontaneous game of street soccer with the locals on our way from the rain forest (guided by Terry). We zip lined, visited the volcano and mud baths. We hiked the Pitons - very challenging and rewarding. We stayed on the South end of the Island the whole time and had plenty to do. We were told repeatedly it was challenging and time consuming to get from one side of the island to the other...however if we had more time, we would taken the water taxi to the North side as a fun boat ride and to avoid the traffic. The walk to the beach is an easy ten minutes and uphill 15 minutes back. You will need more cash than you anticipate - tips are appreciated and there are "vendors" everywhere you go; however the tours take credit cards. There are ATMs in town that disperse EC dollars. Make sure you have the rental agreement and tell customs you are staying at Anse Chastanet. You will have a problem getting through customs if you say La Batterie as each Customs Officer is not familiar with Villa names. Overall this trip was by far the best Caribbean experience we've had.

Starting a new tradition!!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at La Batterie was beyond perfect. The staff was great and very accommodating and exceptional during our stay! We have had the opportunity to travel through most of the Caribbean and I must say that this villa is exceptional, the pictures truly do not even begin to display the beauty of the villa, view and surrounding gardens.

Although our stay was relatively short, it was very relaxing and peaceful. It is clear how much you care about the Batterie and the how well you keep it up. It shows up in the pride that your staff have in the place and the Feng Shui your guests get to enjoy. No wonder it is so popular.

I would be remiss if I did not mention the awesome view from the deck of the Batterie. It is right up there with some of the more magnificent places that we have been fortunate to enjoy. It was especially enjoyable fora couple of reasons. I've been sailing the Caribbean for over 40 years and during that period have sailed into the Pitons numerous times. This was a chance to see it from a different very picturesque view.

Also, the first thing I saw from the deck on the first morning was the Royal Clipper at anchor. I remembered seeing it in your picture gallery. It was particularly relevant because less than 2 months ago we made their final voyage of 2017 across the Western Mediterranean before its trans Atlantic voyage to Barbados for the winter. Great memories. Still remember the crew's names.

Thanks for your hospitality. We enjoyed ourselves. We truly hope to return to La Batterie next year and hopefully be able to stay even longer next time around. We will recommend this villa to our other friends as well.

Best trip ever!!

  • 5 of 5

Such a wonderful week at La Batterie and St Lucia! Waking up and closing out the day with the beautiful view was awesome. Such wonderful people all over the island. At the Villa Clavie, Stephanie, BK and Terry were A++, and totally accommodating. Transportation with little notice, groceries every day, delicious food, homemade birthday cake for our Stefanie, and answers to every inquiry! We got in our daily workout coming back from the beautiful beach 😊, Clavie kept reminding us to just call. We had to earn the drinks on the deck! Sure hope to return to this beautiful place one day soon! 😍👌🏻 Highly recommend this villa to anyone traveling to St. Lucia!!

Relaxing++++

  • 5 of 5

La Batterie is everything promised and more. The view is incredible and we wish we were back right now enjoying coffee or a cocktail on the porch! The weather was a constant and wonderful temperature with a breeze that kept away bugs and kept the air pleasant. The beach was an easy walk down the hill one way and town an easy walk the other way. Be sure to check out Orlando's Restaurant in town; we had a fantastic meal there.

The staff excelled in all aspects--driving, meals, cleaning, care taking, etc. They were pleasant and professional and willing to accommodate all of our requests. We had a minor problem with the shower and it was fixed that day. Would definitely recommend using Clavie for driving as the roads are hilly and winding. The roads would be difficult to navigate at any time, but especially while driving on the "wrong" side of the road!

One thing to know is that the house is quite open and therefore affords little privacy from conversation in the bedrooms or elsewhere in the house.

We had a wonderful stay and hope to be back soon!

Amazing stay at La Batterie Villa

  • 5 of 5

We had a truly amazing experience at La Batterie Villa. The villa and the staff could not have been better. Everyone went above and beyond. Michael and Jennifer were very helpful and quick to answer any of our questions prior to the trip. The villa staff - Stephanie, Terry, BK, Clavie, Marilyn and Bibiana were all great. I highly recommend Stephanie's cooking. She made most of our dinners and they were all incredible. There are no words to describe the views and the environment surrounding La Batterie. We are already making plans to return.
