About Oriana Chiappa
We are a family of four. Our children are now 22 and 19 years old and we have decided to share with you our home in paradise since we moved to the Mexican east coast.
Oriana Chiappa purchased this House in 1998
Why Oriana Chiappa chose Troncones
The house is located right on the sandy beach of Troncones, 35 km north of the twin resorts of Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo. Our family has been vacationing in this house since 1998 when our oldest daughter was 2 years old. Even if we try to spend all our holidays at the house, we have now moved to the Mexican east coast so we cannot use it as much as we did. That is the main reason we have now decided to share our little piece of paradise.
What makes this House unique
We wanted a place built with natural materials such as tropical wood (not cut-out from the forest, but from naturally fell trees), bamboo, sand, silt, and straw under a thatched roof, following a pre-Columbian roofing method, called palapa. We used the expertise of very talented artisans to bond leafs and cords, timber and bamboo to create a unique atmosphere. You will enjoy the contact with nature, sleep with the sound of the waves, and you will awake to find the grandeur of the Pacific Ocean in the most relaxing environment.

2nd year at Ambar House
We returned to Ambar House this year and were just as happy as our first visit. New this year were the garden lights on the patio palapa. We spend so much time on the patio so it was great to have light for late night card games. We rented bikes for the week, making it a short ride to the local restaurants. We will return.
The property is as advertized... very beautiful location with a unique house.
We had a very nice vacation in this Palapa in Troncones. If anything the pictures do not do it justice. For example, the pool is actually very nice and offers a fantastic experience.
I would suggests two improvements that would add to the property. The first is a name posted on the outside of the fence that would make it easier to identify the first time. Also a BBQ would enhance the cooking experience especially with the availability of fresh fish and seafood.
The property was gorgeous, the photos do not do it justice!
An amazing experience, and Palapa, with friendly house keeping and neighbours! We will deff be returning!
A quiet haven
My husband and I stayed at Casa Ambar the 2nd week in March, along with my parents, and absolutely loved our time there. The house was lovely and suited us perfectly. We spent the majority of our time under the palapa between the house and the pool. We loved the open air concept of the house and the flow of the ocean breeze. The hotel/restaurant next door, Lo Sereno, has wonderful food and drinks and we visited there a few times. We rented bikes for the week and found it was a great way to move around the village and up to Mahajua to try different restaurants. Irasema and Bernabe took great care of us during our stay. Oriana was also very responsive when we had a couple questions. The only thing I would recommend is having some lighting available in the palapa for late-night card games. We would definitely stay at Casa Ambar again on a future trip to Troncones.
La casa es hermosa
La casa es hermosa. Es un sitio acogedor, cómodo y muy tranquilo. Muy limpio y todo funciona en excelentes condiciones. Es un sitio ideal para pasar unas vacaciones. Totalmente recomendable
Best palapa ever
Rented the house with 6ppl and had the best beach vacation ever. The house was the typical open air palapa, so bring bug spray, but it was our own Swiss Family Robinson. Definitely returning.
