I enjoy getting to know my guests, and are nearby to meet and greet and answer questions about local things to see and do. We are family friendly and hope to make your stay the most enjoyable and relaxing getaway one can have.
Julie Lee purchased this cabin in 1999
We purchased this unfinished property in 1999 and completed the 'Old Hickory Cabin'. We strive to provide a vacation cabin that is very affordable, clean and well furnished. Our family wanted to create a home away from home feeling- one like we want to stay in when we vacation.
We hope you will find this cabin as pleasant and relaxing as we do. The location is great and very convenient too.
Old Hickory cabin is private, and located 1/2 mile west of Nashville on 4 wooded acres.
Birdwatching, wildlife viewing and relaxing are just a few of the things you can do at Old Hickory Cabin, or not...
Nearby, Brown County State Park has tons of outdoor recreation including; hiking, horseback riding, and great mountain biking trails for the active - much to do!
And, of course, there is shopping in Nashville, antique stores and eating your way through Nashville's many restaurants. You can always take in an evening musical show or quality play put on by local acts and talents. The cabin offers a great home-base for all of the exciting things Brown County has to offer.
We really enjoyed our stay. I was totally impressed with the cleanliness of the cabin. I would highly recommend this place to family and friends. Nice cozy place. Thank you to the owners for all the special little things that made it a home away from home.
Perfect location just outside of Nashville. The cabin was a wonderful getaway. It had everything we needed and more. While we were there, there were high winds and the whole town of Nashville lost power, but not at the cabin. We were so fortunate to have a cozy place to just hang out. I think it took us longer to get in the car than to drive to town. ha ha! It's close but still nicely secluded and private! Highly recommended!
My hubby and I spent 2 nights here. What a beautiful area! The back deck overlooks the vast forest. Nice LARGE bathroom, in fact all the rooms are a nice size! Comfy bed, brand new grill on back deck (didn't have time to use!) and the owner is super sweet! Nashville is a quaint & beautiful town! I wish we would of had a few more days to spend here! Town is only about a 5 minute car drive from the cabin. Would definitely return to stay at the cabin if we are ever fortunate enough to get back to Nashville, Indiana!
My husband and I have stayed here our last 2 Anniversary's. We love the cabin, the beautiful views, being secluded by the hill & trees, but still being close to town. Julie is very sweet and easy to talk to. We will definitely be back agsin and highly recommend the cabin..
We just left our stay at this cabin and I didn't want to go home yet. The cabin is clean and you couldn't ask for somewhere that is more cared for than this little place. The owner was so kind and showed us how to work the fireplace etc. before she left. You can tell that this place really means a lot to them and it does to us now too. Hope to go back each year and take time outside and having another peaceful getaway! So close to Nashville and all the shopping too. I love this sweet little cabin and the owners were very nice too!
The charm of this cabin combined with its location is a delight. Southern Indiana, with its beautiful rolling hills was an unexpected pleasure. We truly had no idea the beauty of Brown County and the Old Hickory Cabin is in the midst of its splendor. The cabin is built into a hillside with incredible views of all that nature has to offer. The cabin interior, in a word…“charming.” It is perfectly appointed, clean, comfortable and cozy. Truly, this place is a treasure! My husband and I enjoyed the cabin and all of its amenities, especially the fireplace in the evenings and the views outback each morning. The location is just minutes away from the quaint village of Nashville and its charming shops and great restaurants. (We loved Big Woods.) It’s also close to Brown County State Park where we experienced our first mountain bike adventure. (We rented bikes from Hesitation Point Bike & Backcountry.) We also caught a performance by Haywood Banks at the local Playhouse Performing Arts Center. There is so much to do and see here and our three night stay just didn’t give us enough time. So without a doubt, we will be back to visit the beauty and charm of Brown County and Old Hickory. Thank you Lee’s for your hospitality and for sharing your little piece of Southern Indiana.
