Guestbook comments from the owner

Our stay in your wonderful home was absolutely perfect for the time there to attend a family reunion on the East Rosebud river at my sister and her husband’s cabin. The two nights allowed our immediate family to gather together for dinner on the deck the night before. The does were in the meadow along with spotted fawns. The early morning mist was on the meadow. I hope to have the same experience sometime in the future in your home. Thank you for making the ‘Rouane’ family reunion better beyond expectations. Yes, I came home with new pottery, too.

Blessings ~ Pat

Everyone in our party was amazed at the location of this property! The river, the mountains all around, and it didn't hurt that a little gold mine of a restaurant was just down the road, in the middle of nowhere. "Where the hell is Roscoe?" We found out, and absolutely loved being here! Thanks to Ruth for being such a wonderful host!

An Unexpected Gem!

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Roscoe! The home was clean and comfortable with more than enough room for our family of four and my parents. The views from the house are unreal and we sat each evening out on the deck watching the deer wander from the fields to the river. We loved the proximity to the pottery shop, the Grizzly Bar and Red Lodge. I would mention the scenic drive we stumbled upon, but I really don't want anyone else to discover it :). The kitchen and laundry is very well stocked and there are more than enough linens if there is need for extra. We were also so thankful for the kids toys! A lovely, peaceful stay!

Idyllic Location, Wonderful House

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have stayed at the Montana Guest House many times. Honestly, I am tempted to give the house a terrible review just so nobody else discovers this slice of paradise. If you wanted to do nothing you could sit on the deck or in the kitchen or the living room all day long and watch the mountains -- the view changes by the minute as the day progresses and the weather changes. One of our favorite activities is taking time lapse movies of the view! The house is so comfortable and cozy. The hikes in the surrounding wilderness area offer breathtaking scenery, wildlife, and solitude. We will return for years to come.

The Dickinson family goes out of its way to be welcoming without being intrusive. They are marvelous hosts.

Thank you for sharing your house with us.

It is our second year staying here and everyone loved the beautiful quiet setting and the ping-pong table! Great place to have family re-connect. Every day there are deer to watch.

Beautiful mountain retreat

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place to wrap up our 3rd visit to the Yellowstone area. The scenery and wildlife made it hard to leave the back deck, but once you did, the house was furnished with everything imaginable, including toys and games for the kids. We are already planning next years trip and this will certainly be one of our spots!

Great place, with a few exceptions.

  • 3 of 5

The house is great, and the location is spectacular! It says it sleeps 8 & I'm not sure how one would accomplish that without bringing an air mattress. Also, we learned a bit late that campers & ATVs are NOT allowed. Additionally, the woman who takes care of the property is probably the rudest person I've ever met, to the point where she frightened our children. My wife is a police officer and I'm a nurse, so I can attest that we were behaving and being respectful - the woman still took it upon herself to come up, write down license plate numbers, yell at us, and yet refuse to tell us what she was upset about. Thankfully, when I spoke to Ruth, she was very kind and everything worked out ok. One other thing to note is that the creek really does run through the property, so you have to be super-cautious with young children.
