About The Owner

Both my husband and I are in the design and construction profession. We love boating and being next to the water. We love watching the sunsets and make time to sit by the water each evening to celebrate this special moment. We also love to sit in our balconies and watch dolfins play and chase fish right outside. In the winter months, there is always a visit from manatees and we specially love to see a mom and her calf swim leasurely along the canal. We love biking and kayaking. The fresh smell of the sea is refreshing and rejuvenating.

The Owner purchased this house in 1989

Why The Owner chose Sexton Cove

We live and work in Miami and the drive to Key Largo is only 45 minutes door to door. We have been going to KL for our weekends for the past 30 years and we love it. As soon as we arrive in Key Largo we feel the magic that is only experienced in the Keys. You can be far from rush of the City and at the same time is only a short drive away. The local seafood, which we both love is fresh and delicious. Every restaurant has their own secret recipes and the food is delicious.

What makes this house unique

The house has great views and within minutes you can be in the coral reefs to enjoy fishing, snorkeling or diving. There are many dive shops and charter fishing in a close 5 minute drive. 5 minutes also gets you to John Pennekamp State Park.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful time exploring the Florida Keys. Since this was a surprise vacation we fit a lot into little time. We spent most of our days visiting parks and beaches which the children enjoyed. Loved Pennekamp, Harry Harris and Bahia Honda. Not sure I can handle another glass bottom boat ride for a while - perhaps if the seas are perfectly calm:):):)

It was wonderful to come back to the house to put our feet up for the night and enjoy a 'slow' morning.

Thank you so much for sharing. Your house is gorgeous and very confortable.

Heaven on earth

  • 5 of 5

We have just two days remaining and I'm already dreading closing the door behind us as we leave. It is paradise in the Keys. The house is absolutely perfect, well equipped, comfortable and all things wonderful. Thank you Gene and Miriam for sharing your home with these winter-weary Tennessean!

Beautiful house and great location

  • 5 of 5

My family and friend, five of us total, rented this house for a week and really enjoyed our stay. It is a beautiful and spacious home with all that you will need for your stay. We brought a boat and jet ski and had plenty of room at the dock. The views are wonderful and you feel like you are at your own personal compound, as you could easily find yourself just wanting to hang around the house all week without going out. We saw manatees and dolphins which are always a family pleaser. I had downtime to really relax and let go with my stay. We hope to be able to rent this house again this year.

Fabulous house

  • 5 of 5

What a magnificent house, as other people wrote before, the photos don't do it justice. We had a very peaceful stay with our children and enjoyed the house as well as the Florida Keys. We will come back, no doubt.

An Excellent Home with Fantastic Views

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a week at Suenos and Sunsets. Miriam and Gene have a beautiful, clean, new home. The views were fantastic. The patio areas and decks provided a range of options for outdoor enjoyment. The kitchen was well stocked. The living areas were expansive and bright. The master bedroom and second bedroom are comfortable and fitted with ensuite bathrooms. Looking out from the home, you feel somewhat that you are on your own cruise ship - but your room is much larger, and the views are always great. People in the Keys are all friendly. Key Largo is a good base for touring around the Keys and the Everglades. We would recommend this home to friends, and we look forward to a return visit in future.

Our family spent two wonderful weeks at this spectacular home for the holidays. When we arrived the home was tastefully decorated for the holiday season! We had the most amazing time enjoying sunsets everyday, watching dolphins, kayaking, playing dominos, riding bikes and just relaxing (especially in the hammocks). The home is absolutely beautiful and more spacious than pictured. It is very open and bright with the most fabulous views from every deck. We went deep sea fishing one day and enjoyed a day trip to Key West. I highly recommend renting the kayaks, our family enjoyed them everyday...I usually went out several times as the sound is very peaceful and calm. We enjoyed cooking in the fabulous kitchen and enjoying meals on the deck. We tried a few restaurants Marker 88 was very good with an amazing sunset view; however, our favorite was Fish House Encore (we went a couple of times). The entire trip was peaceful, Miriam was a pure delight and very professional. We hope to return as the home and the Florida Keys are amazing!

We just got back from staying in this beautiful home for 2 weeks. We had such an amazing time staying in this amazing home, and visiting the Florida Keys for the first time. The home is beautiful, new, and larger than the pictures show. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, and grilling our meat at the outdoor kitchen. The sunsets were amazing, too! We often sat and watched the sunsets from one of the decks, especially the upper one. There are so many options for seating indoors or out, with lots of beautiful outdoor furniture to enjoy. Laying in the hammock, or sitting on the lounge by the canal or ocean were really enjoyable. The hot tub at night was great, too. We felt that we really didn't need to go anywhere else, as the house was so comfortable and the setting was so spectacular! We hope to be back!!!
