Entendez le son du fleuve: Hear the sound of the river. You'll feel to the manor born when you stay at this spacious estate that combines the atmosphere of a chateau in Provence with the stunning beauty of Oregon's Hood River Valley. With amenities like a hot tub and enough space for 20 guests and a family dog, this home exudes luxury and comfort. Contact Vacasa for more details about large gatherings like weddings and reunions, as additional fees apply.
River Song is just 10 minutes from downtown Hood River and all the great places to eat and shop there.
From the moment you enter the huge open living area with its high ceilings, panoramic views, and grand spiral staircase you realize this is an enormous space (about 5800 sq.ft.) perfect for festivities, yet warm and comfortable - and you would be right. The home is the newly built favorite getaway of the Webster family and their eight children, and was designed to entertain large parties.
Whether you're passing the hors d'oeuvres at a party, or a bowl of popcorn while you and the family watch a movie, this home offers a seamless space for interacting no matter what the occasion. And when the others have gone to bed, enjoy a solitary moment. Stay up by the fire and work on the laptop with the free WiFi, read a book, or watch a late movie on the cable TV.
This chateau's large and well-equipped kitchen will be up to any culinary challenge, from a glitzy feast to eggs and toast in the morning. Straw bosses can supervise and chat as they sip a drink at the island right in the kitchen. When the meal's done, gather 'round the dining table with room for eight (plus seven more at the island) and feast not only on the meal with a stunning backdrop.
All six of the bedrooms are color-coded so everyone knows where they belong at bedtime. Between a king bed, four queen beds, four twin beds, a futon, a sofa bed, and a crib or two, up to 20 visitors will find a spot to sleep (please note that there is a small fee per night per extra guest over 12 people). The family dog may even join for a small nightly fee.
Along with the three-dozen wineries in the area, there are many orchards where you can pick your own fruit! Come in April to the Hood River Blossom Festival and take the railroad tour of the orchards called "The Fruit Loop." Winter is great in Hood River too. Just head south for 30 minutes and you're at Mount Hood Meadows. Keep going, and there are more places to ski down the road.
Book your next family reunion, small wedding, or friendly get together at this Hood River vacation home.

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
We had a large group of friends and this rental proved to be a great location with plenty of room, excellent views and amenities, and very clean. Thanks Vacasa
It was more than we expected and would go there again and I have told others about it already.
if looking for a venue to host a family reunion and be able to spread out the guests between the kids downstairs and the adults on the main floor, this is your spot. Nicely decorated and well maintained, this home sleeps 18 comfortably, with a large deck and a gas grill that faces toward Mt. Adams. For the kids, downstairs is a large room with foosball, ping pong table, small kitchen, bathroom, and TV. Make a grocery list and buy from one of the major grocery stores (we liked Rossauers) in town since there are no convenience stores or other services on Hwy 35 from the house to Hood River
The house is very well maintained and is in great condition. The view is awesome. Both Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood are visible from the house.
We were a group of 13 and the house was plenty big for all of us. We enjoyed the privacy of the property yet is was close to the "Fruit Loop", wineries, great hiking near Mt Hood or the Gorge, Hood River, and the Columbia River. Our favorite place was being together on the large deck with the sound of the Hood River below us, overlooking the beautiful orchards, with the amazing view of Mt Adams. Several of us thought it looked like Tuscany! The house is set up for large groups including two kitchens, and even a cold water fountain near the kitchen! Thanks for a wonderful vacation. We hope to be back.
We are a group of adult friends who get together annually to vacation. We are a group of 13-15 people who want a nice place to stay in a beautiful/interesting place. River Song Country Chateau fit us beautifully. The house is well suited for large groups including two dishwashers and ovens, an indoor chilled drinking fountain, and even an additional kitchen in the basement. The open concept kitchen, dining room, and family room is a perfect place to hang out together. We ate on the huge deck every evening which had an incredible view of a orchard of pear trees with Mt Adams in the back ground and the sound of the Hood River below. One evening we had an amazing sunset that turned the sky, Mt Hood in the front yard, and Mt Adams in the backyard pink and gold. The property is very private but minutes away the "Fruit Loop" (fresh fruit and wine tasting) and Hood River (Columbia River Gorge/ restaurants/shopping/kite surfing). It reminded several of us of Tuscany! Thank you for a great vacation. We hope to come again.
