With its endless ATV, hiking, and snowmobiling trails, lakes and rivers for fishing, there's always something to spend time doing while on the property. Even if you leave the property, the list of possible ways to spend your day only grows.
With Gore Mountain Ski Resort only minutes away, Whiteface and Killington Ski Mountains less than two hours away, your hunger for winter sports is always satisfied. Even if you're just looking for a quiet weekend to get away from life's stresses then there's no place better to relax and recoup. So whether you're hiking the High Peaks, hunting in the woodland, racing through the trails on a snowmobile, fishing the rivers and lakes, or just relaxing on the porch enjoying the incredible Mountain View with your favorite book, there's always something to make your time spent in the Adirondacks fun and memorable.
The cabin is a wondrous sight in and of itself. It has; two bedrooms, full kitchen, single bathroom, dining area, and complete family area with surround sound, blue-ray/dvd, and satellite TV (52" flatscreen). Decorated and styled in rustic-country-antique each room has a welcoming and homey atmosphere. Capable of comfortably housing six people, four of which are in beds, the entire family can come.

Steve and Diane Colletti live on the front piece of the property and run the pick your own pumpkin farm, It's About Thyme Farm, and the flower nursery in the spring, summer, and falls months. They have four children, three of who do not live at home. Steve also owns and runs an aquarium/pond business, Allbright Aquariums. They've lived in the Adirondacks for 8 years, and just this past year built the cabin.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2010
The vacation rental wasn't purchased. It was built by the owners as a get away home, considering the decent amount of property the cabin sits on. VRBO is an idea that came after construction.
The cabin offers many unique benefits. It has easy access to snowmobiling, hiking, and ATV trails that go on for miles. Within an hour's drive is outlet shopping, movie theaters, a mall, etc. The most popular aspect of the area is that Gore Mountain Ski Resort is a 10 minute drive from the property. However, in my personal opinion, the completely scerenity and peace that the property offers is the greatest benefit of all.
The cabin proved to be a perfect weekend escape from NYC. We drove up on a Friday night (approx 6 hours after stopping for groceries), and although it was late, the graciously stayed up to escort us to the location and providing an overview of the solar electricity, wood-burning stove, etc.
The cabin is larger than it appears in the picture, and is constructed as a large room with a loft over the front-half of the cabin. It is actually quite spacious inside. There is one private bedroom with a queen-size bed, and a loft with a king-size bed. An inflatable mattress and large sofa allow for comfortable sleeping arrangements for six people.
The electricity is solar with a gas-generator backup, and there was no cell-phone service (although there was a land-line phone connection). This proved to be rather enjoyable as we were all disconnected from email, web, etc.
The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating. We were late arriving on Friday evening, and the owner met us with no complaints to escort us to the cabin. We did have a minor leak from a loose drain-pipe under the kitchen sink, however this was promptly fixed when we notified the owner.
We would certainly recommend this cabin for groups of 6 or less, everyone in our group agreed that we would like to return.
we stayed in the cabin for a week in September and it was great. The farm was perfect to pick your own fresh veggies for dinner and the home was just perfect. the views are outstanding and kayaking out your front door was a blessing. we did not want to leave
We spent a long weekend at the cottage and were very pleased. The location is remote, but a short drive to stores and the North way (I 87). The amenities can best be described as Adirondack elegance with great furnishings and all the comforts of home plus a great kitchen. Within hours of our arrival we both began to d-stress. We would highly recommend this for a weekend getaway or a longer stay. The owners are great host. Ed & Elizabeth, August 2011
