Photos and Description of this 5 bedroom holiday lodge in Stockbridge - Vulture Mountain

House, 5 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 7-14)

Secluded mountainside home with beautiful valley views and easy access to prime ski resorts. It is located above the White River on over one acre of wooded property. Perfect for all winter activities including skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing. Nearby are the charming towns of Woodstock, Quechee, Barnard, Rochester, and Randolph with plenty of shopping, antiquing, and restaurants.

The home is perfect for your family reunion or large group and offers privacy with bedrooms and baths on all three levels. It is located minutes off of scenic Route 100 and approximately 25 minutes from Killington access road.

The primary living space has cathedral ceilings, two story stone fireplace, a large flatscreen television and a wall of windows overlooking the valley views. The dining area seats eight with additional four at peninsula. The kitchen is well equipped. Additional televisions are in the master loft bedroom and downstairs den. There is one bathroom on each level.

The property is located on a private road. AWD AND GOOD SNOW TIRES OR CHAINS ARE REQUIRED ON OUR PRIVATE ROAD DURING WINTER SEASON. About Mike

We are a NYC couple (and dogs) who use this property as our year-round weekend getaway. We are discerning to whom we rent and hope our renters have a great time while being respectful of our home.

Mike purchased this lodge in 2004

Why Mike chose Killington Area

We originally visited this property as guests and kept coming back. When the owner put it up for sale, we didn't want to lose our weekend retreat so decided to buy it for ourselves and are still thrilled with our decision!

What makes this lodge unique

The house offers many unique charms for each season from the views during fall foliage and cozy fires during wintertime to spring gardening and outdoor summer fun.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Amazing home with incredible hosts!

  • 5 of 5

Mike and Victoria’s home, elegantly perched in the Vermont Mountains, looked as if it were straight out of a “Home” magazine- one that someone would reference to learn how to redesign a house that perfectly fuses functionality with beauty.

If the first drive into the garage were to be of any indication, the fully stocked piles of firewood stood out as one detail of the care that Mike and Victoria had put into making us guests feel welcome and at home.

Walking in after our long drive from New York, we were greeted by homemade brownies, a bottle of wine and a welcome card- letting us know that they were pleased to share their home and all of its amenities with us. This welcome card included detailed instructions of how we could figure out the functionalities of the “large-enough-for-all-of-us” hot tub and the “perfect-after-a-cold-day” sauna.

Although both looked tempting that first night, we were all exhausted and ready to unpack and settle in. There was more than enough room in the kitchen for us to unload our boxes of fresh food (and the requisite marshmallows for our eventual fireside treat) and with the first (of many) fires warming us from the somehow spacious yet cozy living room, we sat down for our first dinner under the candelabra (with magical candles that evaporated rather than melt!)

Sometimes, people put so much effort into the aesthetics of houses, that they forget the agreeability factor, and what makes that house a home. This was not the case with Mike and Victoria. The beautiful bedrooms were as comfortable as they were visually appealing. The multiple beds, all with inviting linen, mattresses, and fluffed pillows, were the perfect way to rest up for the next day of hitting the slopes.

Hit the slopes we did, and when we came back weary and weathered, the hot tub and sauna were finally put to their intended use. After spending an hour or so de-thawing in the hot water, we ate warm soup and spent the next bit of time bringing out our competitive spirits with rounds of pool, ping-pong, and air-hockey in the downstairs game-room.

These routines continued throughout the weekend; the perfect blend of new activities coupled with the simple pleasure of being in a home (unlike a stale or severe hotel experience) made this Vermont experience at Mike and Victoria’s absolutely irreplaceable.

Thank you so much for sharing your space with us! We are all eagerly looking forward to doing it again.

A trip of a lifetime!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was absolutely unforgettable and more than any of us would have expected. The house was immaculate; Victoria and Mike took care of every single detail from water bottles by each bedside to an incredible welcome basket with delicious brownies and wine, the owners went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The house was extremely clean. The living room was charming with its large fireplace and the candle chandelier. The view was truly breathtaking. The kitchen had everything you would need. There is plenty of room for 14 people; we were a group of 12 and the house is so spacious we had plenty of extra space! The hot tub and sauna were modern, clean, and of a descent size to fit 6 people very comfortably. We are still talking about how in love we are with this house and will definitely love to return for another trip! The pictures DO NOT do the house justice at all! Thank you so much Victoria and Mike for renting out your marvelous home to us! It was more than we wished for!! : )

Best house rental in VT!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year in this beautiful home. The fit and finish of the home makes it very comfortable and inviting for all age groups. Mike and Victoria are gracious hosts and take a lot of pride in their home. The improvements made from one year to the next make it obvious that they care as much about their home as they do the people renting it. The personal touches are wonderful and make this an ideal rental.

When we rented the house last year we left behind some personal items. When we arrived this year, we found that Mike and Victoria had held on to our items; they were wrapped and labled for us and put out with a delicious plate of brownies and a bottle of wine with a personal note to welcome us. I have never experienced such personable and thoughtful landlords.

We loved the upgrades to the house such as the chef's stove and ceramic, wood like tiles in the lower rec room. Simply cannot be beat this property; views, amenities, warm home and owners!

Thanks again for being such wonderful hosts-

Great weekend!

  • 5 of 5

A group of us stayed here for a long weekend and unanimously decided that we would absolutely go back again! Mike and Vicki were SO sweet and easy to deal with and went over the top to make us feel welcome in their home by making DELICIOUS brownies and having a bottle of wine for us as well. The bedrooms were very cozy and the living room(s) with fireplaces were exactly what we needed after a long day at Killington! Not to mention the hot tub and sauna...both of which got used every night we were there. The game room downstairs was great as well for additional entertainment and the kitchen had everything we needed and then some. Despite our four wheel drive vehicles though, we did (as Vicki and Mike advised) park at the bottom of the hill in fear that we wouldn't be able to get back down, but that proved to be only a minor inconvenience in a really, really fun weekend. (A friendly neighbor even offered us a ride up one time!) Highly recommend this house for a nice getaway!! Location is just a short drive from the ski resorts. Thanks Mike and Vicki! :)

Excellent New Years Escape!

  • 5 of 5

This secluded mountainside home was an excellent choice for the 7 couples to enjoy our New Years! We stayed 5 nights in the home and enjoyed it all! There was plenty of room for the group to have big dinners and hang out around both fireplaces! The rec room was awesome and kept us entertained especially at night! The hot tub and sauna were also an amazing addition and great after a day of skiing at Killington! Mike and Vicki were great to work with and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome in their home!
