Beautiful apartment at a great location
The apartment was well appointed and very comfortable. The canal it faces is pretty busy with “traffic” and so many gondolas and water taxis pass by the dining room window. Fun to watch but a little public. They had lots of guidebooks and maps we could borrow, which was a nice touch. The location between San Marco Square and Rialto was very convenient. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this apartment.
This is the perfect spot in Venice, easy to get to and very comfortable.
This apartment is in a great location. Easy to get to and close to everything. The furnishings are comfortable and it is well stocked with amenities for your stay. Kimberly and Andrea were very nice and accommodating. They provide a lot of great information and make the check in and out extremely easy. Our family of three had plenty of room here and enjoyed being right on a canal and loved looking through the window at the canal traffic both locals and some tourist. Ground floor is the best in Venice. There is a great little private courtyard with a table and chairs. You have a washer and dryer for laundry which was handy during our Italian vacation. Though we were only here for four nights, we were in Italy for 17 days so laundry was important. Many landmarks and local features are very close by. When in Venice we will return to the Chimney Sweep Well. We very much enjoyed our stay here.
The best location- close to the action but very quiet.
This apartment is so fantastic. When, not if, we go back to Venice, this apartment will be where we will stay. The front entry is accessed from a really quiet courtyard and once inside the apartment you don’t hear anything until you open the canal facing window. Perfect for two couples with a large bedroom and beautiful ensuite each. One room had access to a courtyard which led to the laundry area. The property is well appointed, has an adequate kitchen and eating area, is very clean however the winning asset was a big window opening to the canal where the gondolas glided by during the day. Imagine some of the gondolas had a singer and piano accordion player. Oh so romantic to watch. Wish I could add my video so you could see the magic. I have to add that the owners are the most beautiful caring people and helped us when my husband developed Asthma. Their help and time was given most generously and was very much appreciated. Please consider this property as it really is walking distance to everything and easy to find once you get your bearings.
Beautifully Restored Apartment
The location is excellent if you want proximity to Venice’s major sites....just minutes from St Mark’s Square. There are no stairs to climb and the unit is furnished with everything from A/C to microwave. There is a window viewing one of the canals and you can see the gondolas parading by during the day. The apartment is designed to comfortably accommodate two couples as you have two bedrooms, each having its own bathroom. Kim is a responsive hostess and lives in another apartment in the same building. This is a great place to stay!
Perfect location, accommodations and host!
We recently visited Venice with our two teenage sons and were so happy we chose to stay at the Chimney Sweep Well! Kim met us when we first arrived and gave us lots of tips on restaurants, groceries and other things to see and do in the area. She and her husband were very gracious and helpful! You cannot beat the location of the apartment - it is less than 5 minutes from
St Marks Basilica and right in the heart of shopping and restaurants. The apartment itself is beautiful, immaculate and very comfortable! I have already told my friends they must stay here if they visit Venice. It definitely surpassed our expectations!
Great location, ground floor, air conditioning, quiet.
We enjoyed our stay. View of gondolas, going by kitchen window. Quiet because back alley location. Right between Rialto Bridge and San Marco Square. Everything we needed. We recommend.
San Marco is one of six Sestrieri that make up the city of Venice. It is the Sestriere most visited by tourists. There are many historically significant attractions located in the Sestriere of San Marco. There is the famous Saint Mark's square, Saint Mark's Basilica, and The Doge's Palace (a gothic Palace where the Venetian Doge's lived). The Doge (Doge derives from Latin, which in English means Duke) Various Doge's ruled Venice for over a 1,000 years. The famous La Fenice (the phoenix) theatre. Harry's Bar which was made famous by Ernest Hemingway and many other celebrities that visited it over many years. This is only the tip of the iceberg of all the places you can visit in San Marco and Venice. There are another five Sestrieri to visit in Venice all which have
their own charms and treasures.
There are also the Islands of Lido, where the Venice Film Festival is held, and also where all the
beaches are located where you can rent an umbrella and lounger to sunbathe and swim. The Island of Murano where the famous glass factories are located. Burano a lovely fisherman’s Island with colourful homes and where you can buy Venetian lace. The Island of Torcello is a small boat ride away from Burano and was first settled in the year 452. There is also the Island of Giudecca.
