About D.J. Ballingham

Our family lives in Logan. We have ten people in our family so we know about needing space. Our family loves to go all over the United States and Canada to see all of the amazing things there are in the world, but we always love coming back home to Bear Lake.

Why D.J. Ballingham chose Utah

Bear Lake is a place where families love to come. It is very satisfying to provide a place for families to build bonds of love and make memories that strengthen ties.

What makes this cabin unique

There are some breathtaking sunrises. It is amazing to sit on the deck overlooking the Lake and golf course, taking in the beauty of nature. At night, the stars are bright and beautiful, making it an incredible place for stargazing and sleeping under the stars. We love to see the wild turkeys on the hillside, as well as the deer, elk, and moose that frequently visit. Riding through the hills on 4 wheelers and snowmobiles is one of our favorite activities. You can ride as far as Hardware Ranch through the National Forest on ATVs or Snowmobiles. The Rodeo & Raspberry Days are great attractions in August. Pickleville Playhouse is clean family fun (live theatre). Finally, and most importantly, there's the lake, with its bright blue water and fun activities. Water skiing, Jet skiing, sun bathing and beach fun are all just minutes away. If you like to fish, there are big Mackinaw and Cutthroat Trout in the lake, and for the kids, there are a few small community ponds nearby that are stocked with Rainbow Trout.

The Gathering Place Too
average rating of 4.7 based on 10 reviews
Idaho Falls, Idaho

Large family accommodating, beautiful view, plenty of space

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Gathering Place Too, kitchen was spacious, had most cooking items and dishes that you would need. Plenty of bathrooms, bedrooms and places to sleep for advertised amount. Everyone enjoyed themselves, and were comfortable. The only recommendation I would make is to bring extra fans. There is no air conditioning and we found if you close up the windows and curtains during the day, it will remain cool through the day. Use fans at night to help circulate the cool night air. Other than that we would recommend this as a place for families to stay. Thank you!!

No AC/Internet, but the facility was great! Response time was great too!

  • 4 of 5

There is no AC or internet at this location and it got a little warm in the afternoons, but the location and property were great! From the porch you could enjoy the breeze and the views. I loved the two dryer laundry room. They thought of everything! Well stocked and responsive owners. We had a repair that was needed and it was completed the same day. Would recommend to others.

Plenty of room, beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a family reunion and loved it. There was plenty of space for 17 of us. The photos do not do the property justice. We were pleasantly surprised at how open and big it actually is. The kitchen is well stocked. The deck offers great views. The owners were quick to reply to our inquiries. It would have been nice to have WiFi, but we survived :) I recommend this place!

Beautiful home, beautiful view!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this lovely home for 2 nights with a group that consisted of 22 adults and 4 children. It fit us all comfortably and had everything we needed. The view of the lake is stunning! We all agreed we found the perfect place for our Easter weekend gathering!

Our family had a wonderful few days here! Plenty of space and bathrooms which makes it nice. The owners were very accommodating and even available when we ran into travel issues in the snow.

Thanks so much!
