Coral Cove at Villa Coral is an elegant waterfront apartment on the island of Culebra; a Natural Reserve that can only be described as paradise. It has a spectacular view of Ensenada Honda Bay (Culebra's main harbor) and a convenient public dock; a perfect place to dock your boat or be picked up by a water taxi, fishing or scuba diving excursion. The villa has a private parking space and jeep rentals are readily available.

The property is located in town and is just a 1-5 minute walk to grocery and convenience stores, deli, bakery, restaurants, shops & the ferry dock. Culebra has one of the top 3 beaches in the world: Flamenco Beach. Zoní, Carlos Rosario, Tamarindo and Melones are some of the other famous beaches of Culebra. Flamenco and Zoní are perfect for bathing while Melones and Carlos Rosario are great spots for snorkeling. For surfers, Playa Brava is the perfect spot to catch some waves in one of the most scenic islands of the world.

Why Gustavo chose Culebra Pueblo

My husband and I had been going to Culebra for 28 years and rented in different locations. We had walked down this street previously to sit and watch the bay, especially when the moon was full. There used to be a big, old wooden house in a corner and we would dream of buying it and building there. When we saw the house had been torn down and 6 apartments were being built there we jumped at the chance of having a corner in Paradise!

What makes this apartment unique

We bought the apartment in 2004 and every time I go I fall in love once again with the view (from all rooms) and the sea breeze that constantly flows thorough the apartment. I love the fact that it is in town, near everything and yet not busy because it is in a dead-end street and faces the sea. I loose all sense of time once I get there...

Perfect location for food and for fun

I brought my grown children with me to visit Culebra. It was my fourth trip to the island , it was their first.

I chose Coral Cove for our place to stay. Overall, I was very happy with the apartment. The interior was fine; I was say it was above average for residences on the island.

There was always a strong breeze blowing in off of the harbor, and we were within easy walking distance to numerous restaurants and grocery stores.

There was a reserved parking spot outside the apartment, so our little golf cart always had a place.

I felt like the area was perfectly safe, though I am sure everyone quickly identified us as tourists!

The best part of this apartment is the view. From the balcony we overlooked the Culebra harbor, the public boat dock, and the restaurant Dingy Dock. It was a great place to relax, eat dinner, and watch the yachts come and go.

The only problem I had was that one boat that was docked on the public boat dock ran an electric line to a generator that was place just under our balcony. The owner ran the loud generator about 8 hours a day, mostly at night.

When the generator was off, the balcony was the perfect spot. When it was on, the balcony was loud and annoying.

I tried to communicate with the owner, but my Spanish isn’t very good, And I didn’t want to be the ugly American and call the police and have them involved. So at night, instead of leaving the doors open and enjoying the Caribbean breeze, we closed them and turned on the AC.

Overall I would recommend this apartment, but not sure I would stay there again if knew about the generator noise.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying at Coral Cove! We are sorry about the generator noise that diminished your enjoyment of the balcony. We were unaware of the situation until you texted us. We promptly answered and suggested that the proper action was to file a complaint with the police for ‘Disturbing the Peace’. Since we don't live in Culebra, we couldn't address the situation immediately. As a solution, we provided the telephone and the address of the police station, which is within walking distance from the apartment. This involved a third party and as you mentioned in your text, being a public dock, it was "outside of our control". The complaint would have been the correct and best option, especially since your communication with the boat owner was unsuccessful due to the language barrier. With no complaint filed, no results. Since you alerted us of the noise, we are working to resolve the issue permanently and as soon as possible.

I wish maintenance of the property was better

This property has an amazing view of the bay and it is on a great location. It really is just walking distance to restaurants, stores and the municipal dock. Board games, beach chairs, cooler, among other things, are provided to use with the apartment. Cons I had of the property were mainly with the maintenance and cleaning service. The first day we arrived at the property, we found the air conditioner was not working properly. The unit was not cooling at all and there was water all over the hallway floor in front of the unit. After informing the owner of this, she replied fast but said nobody could service it until the day after. That first night we had to sleep without the air conditioner and it was rough. Second, the TV and internet service never worked on our stay and even after informing the owner of this, the issues were never resolved. Third, the apartment was said to be cleaned the night before but unfortunately, the linens and towels and the apartment itself were all dusty and most members of my family staying in the apartment got sick with sore throats and allergies. Lastly, there seems to be a problem with cockroaches around the apartment and even though traps are seen around the apartment, these continued to appear. This unit has such a potential but unfortunately it also needs better maintenance.

Location is unbeatable, view from the patio is prime, amentities (cooler, chairs, beach gear) are super convenient. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to experience this awesome island at its fullest.
