'De Drie Koningen' has a long tradition of hospitality. In the 14th century it was already used as a guesthouse. Today this hospitality is reflected into spacious and comfortable apartments at the Twijnstraat in the very centre of Bruges :

The apartments accommodate 2-8 persons and have up to 4 bedrooms, dining area, 1 or 2 bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen,... Some of the apartments have a terrace or balcony or at least access to our common garden with swimming pool. Our visitors can also enjoy the common amenities such as free Wifi, Ipad, 'Honesty' bar with Belgian beers, DVD collection, home bread delivery,...

Looking for a space for your car ? ‘De Drie Koningen' has 4 places available in two garages next to the apartments.

De 'Vergulde Fontein' is our 14th century basement with medieval vaults. Today we use it for teaching Argentine tango or tasting the local beers.

'De Drie Koningen' is therefore an excellent place for those who want to explore our city with family or friends.

This huge duplex apartment is located above the 'coach house'. Its charm is due to characteristics of the old roof structure and 18th century gable. The apartment offers a living area with dining room, a fully equiped kitchen, 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. The spacious private terrace looks onto the patio garden with swimming pool.

A lovely apartment. Lots of space and very clean in a peaceful area. We particularly enjoyed the terrace and the enclosed garden with pool. Two bathrooms and two toilets suited us well (a family of 5, with 3 teens). Beer in reception area and bakery delivery worked well. A lovely owner, Nico gave us a warm welcome and was on-hand with good advice when needed. No oven so may not suit serious foodies, but did have microwave and ceramic hob. We managed to self-cater comfortably - there were enough pans etc to cook what we wanted. Would highly recommend. We had a thoroughly relaxing and comfortable stay (the beds are good!).

Perfect for Brilliant Bruges weekend

The apartment we had (Onze-Lieve-Vrouw) has a huge living room that comfortably accommodates a dining table that could seat a dozen people. The kitchen is quite small and has no oven other than a microwave, but is otherwise very well equipped, with doors to the terrace that overlooks the internal courtyard garden and pool.

Dealing with Nico before we arrived was excellent. He responded quickly to queries, and the online information centre he sends a link to makes sure you get to the right place easily, and know what to expect when there. It is a great idea, replicated with the provision of an ipad on arrival that stores the same info. The ipad offers other services too, none the least useful of which is to order breakfast items for delivery from a nearby patisserie.

As you enter through the impressive old doorway you first see the honour bar. Extensively stocked with an impressive array of Belgian beers, wines and soft drinks. All at prices only marginally above the supermarket.

I'd noticed HomeAway had sent an invoice that was higher than the original price Nico had confirmed, so he sorted it within minutes and left us a message on the ipad to that effect.

Our only slight concern (as the couple occupying the downstairs bedroom) was the noise of footsteps on the staircase and upstairs laminated floors. Not a big issue though compared to all the advantages of staying here - principally that you are 2 minutes stroll from restaurants that lead you to the main square - Grote Markt - within 5 minutes. Fabulous location, yet still quiet.

Not hugely impressed by the restaurants we tried, especially Bistro De Mosselkelder in Huidenvettersplein. I'd definitely say give it a miss - there is too much choice to risk getting the mediocre fare we had, with very overcooked 'Dover' sole that didn't look much like ones I've eaten before. Otherwise Burger & Burger in Philipstockstraat 2 minutes from the apartment had decent burgers and steaks, with friendly service. The food in Brasserie Vivaldi in Wijngaardstraat was very tasty, but my fillet steak was ruined by being cut lengthways down the middle, so it was cooked well done rather than medium. When I asked the excellent waiter we had why the chef might do that, he had no idea so asked the chef, whose reply was: "To cook it fast". My tip for the chef ? Cook it properly, not fast.

De Drie Koningen is a perfect place for a Bruges weekend - location, service, proprietor and comfort all get top marks

Lovely apartment right in the heart of things.

We had a great stay in 'De Drie Koningen'.I was surprised how good the location was, as I had got the impression that it was a little further from the centre than it actually is.The accommodation was very spacious, clean & comfortable & had everything that we needed.The 'Honesty Bar' was fantastic & very good value..we've never seen anything like this before & it was a real highlight....great to come in at the end of the night & enjoy a beer in the comfort of the apartment. Nico is very helpful & accommodating & there is an iPad to use for each apartment...for information & communicating with Nico. Again, that was something different for us, but it works.

There are lots of restaurants, bars & places to visit nearby, so all in all, it was just about the perfect place for us & ideal for 5 or 6 people.

This is a perfect place to stsy in Bruges. The apartment was spacious, clean, well appointed, and had everything we needed for a lovely holiday. The apartment is right in the centre of the town, but very peaceful and quiet. The owners are very friendly and helpful, we couldn't have asked for more!

What a Find!

Would highly recommend this place. Nico & Ann are very welcoming & helpful. Five of us stayed for a long weekend in St Jans appartment which was huge with 4 bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Quiet, central location, just a short walk to the main square. Home from home - everything you could possibly need for self catering. Wonderful freshly baked croissants, bread & pastries delivered to your door for breakfast. Hundreds of DVD's to watch - if you have the time! Extremely well stocked honesty bar - lots of Belgium Beers to coose from, wine, milk. Excellent restaurants a very short stroll away. The elderly or people with walking difficulties might find the staircase to bedrooms a bit steep, but it certainly would not stop us returning here or recommending it. No need to take a taxi - we took the bus from Brugge station to the main square which was literally only a couple of minutes away. Then about a 3 min walk from there to our accommodation.

The cultural/historic patrimony of Bruges is world famous (UNESCO world heritage) . The Bruges monuments, museums and the historic city centre attract thousands of visitors every year.

'De Drie Koningen' is located in the centre of the city in a quiet neighborhood only 2 minutes away from the main square.

Within walking distance, our guests can visit all the highlights such as the Town Hall, Holy Blood, Groeninghe museum, Beguinage, Brewery 'De Halve Maan ', Chocolate Museum, etc...

Shops and boutiques, supermarkets, restaurants and take aways are just around the corner. The main food market is held on Wednesdays in front of the Belfort.

Tired of walking? We can strongly recommend a canal boat trip. Or what about a guided bike tour in Bruges or along the hundred of kilometers of bike paths around Bruges leading to Holland or to the coast?

In case you want a guided tour (on foot or on bike) we can assist you as well.

And last but not least : 'De Drie Koningen' has a basement 'De Vergulde Fontein' dating from the 14th century. It is considered as one of the best preserved cellars in our city. Regularly on Friday evenings our guests may attend an Argentine tango evening.
