Cozy, Comfortable, and Clean!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I️ stayed here after staying 3 nights in Manhattan.

The location was ideal and we welcomed the low key Brooklyn vibe and all that this neighborhood had to offer.

Even better than Brooklyn, was our Brownstone and owner Nicole!

We were welcomed after dark by her and her precious son with key in hand and showed us around and answered all of our questions.

The Brookstone was authentic with an updated kitchen and bathroom.

We ate and shopped in our neighborhood Prospect Heights...and really enjoyed it.

And then for $2.75 and an easy 35 minute subway ride, we were back in Manhattan to see a Christmas Broadway!

We really enjoyed our stay here and if it’s available...I️ highly recommend to book and stay there.

Good overall

  • 5 of 5

Overall, this property is a comfortable and cheerful place to stay. It's an upstairs apartment and the owners live downstairs. The owner was easy to access if needed and provided all of the information I needed when I arrived. The only negatives for me were a strong smell of cleaning products, which lingered throughout my stay, and the noise from the street (mainly on the weekend) and from the radiators clanging. The space would work well for one person or a couple, but would be tight if you used the air mattress as recommended for extra guests.

The location is great for accessing the subway, and I didn't feel unsafe walking around at night. I mainly used the Atlantic/Barclays metro as that gave me the most choices for trains.

Owner's Response: We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay, for the most part. We take your comfort very seriously and thank you so much for your constructive comments, especially regarding the radiator clanging, which is an easy fix, when we know it's occuring. The plumber will be by today to bleed them. Also we will make sure to let our future customers know that they have the option of green products. In the winter time, if the windows aren't open, sometime the cleaning smell lingers. Up until now people have preferred the smell of our regular cleaning products to the smell of the green ones, but we will make sure to remind our guests that the option of green cleaning materials is available. With respect to street noise, I'm afraid there is little we can do to control that in this giant city of ours, however our back unit faces our garden and is more peaceful should you chose to come visit again.

Turn of the Century charm in the right location

  • 4 of 5

Okay, location, location location. That's what you get in this turn of the Century Brooklyn brown stone. Name the subway line and your a short two or three blocks of getting anywhere in Brooklyn, Queens or NYC. Room 3F is a , not so small, room with a table for four, couch and a few chairs and side tables with additional separate bath with upgraded shower and toilet/sink. An area in the main room offers a small four burner stove/oven, microwave, toaster and enough plates and side dishes to feed you and your friends, along with room for sitting to watch upgraded HBO Direct TV. Yes, there is a coffee maker and numerous cups for you to fill each morning. And, best of all, a separate bed room with a very comfortable Queen Bed. Cozy room, but enough space to get in and out of bed every day. Nicole Mull is a great and helpful host who gets back to your phone or email pronto. My wife and I visited my daughter and grand children who live two blocks away and staying here kept our sanity. We stayed 18 days and will return again.

Good apartment great location

  • 5 of 5

One bed apartment with a sofa bed and inflatable bed in the living room. The room was large enough to use the inflatable bed without needing to put it away during the day. It’s a well-equipped spacious apartment. All communication prior to our stay with Nicole went well and she met us upon arrival (11pm). The location is great. Good transport links close by and a wide range of cafes etc. The area felt safe. I was travelling with my 15 year old daughter and I felt happy letting her go out by herself.

Great stay Thanks Nicole.

Great apartment in super location

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is in a classic brownstone house in Brooklyn with many of the original features. The apartment was up 2 short flights of stairs and was perfect for 2/3 people. Nice to have a full size stove and the microwave and toaster gave you plenty of self catering options. As we were from the UK we appreciated a kettle so we could have some tea. We found that we had great access to the Subway on both the 2,3 line and the B,Q line. It was a short walk to the Atlantic Mall that had all the main shops you would need (Target and Stop & Shop). We also walked to Prospect Park which was great. Barclays Arena was on hand if you wanted to attend a sports event.

Nicole was a super host and offered to lend some outerwear as one our bags had been delayed by 4 days. Will definitely stay here again and would recommend without hesitation the apartment to any of our friends.
