Wake up to the sound of waves crashing on the beach, grab your surfboard and walk down to the best surf spot in the South Bay. Or simply breath in the fresh ocean air and relish the fabulous perfect sunny weather and laid back attitude that Southern California made famous. Great restaurants are within walking distance. The Strand sidewalk runs north and south for 26 miles along the beach. If you live an active lifestyle, you won't need a car!

Our cozy duplex was built in 1932 and has been continuously remodeled over the past decade but we've managed to keep all the charming elements. A few years ago, we hired an interior designer to refurnish everything from the furniture to the silverware. There's a Beautyrest queen mattress in the master bedroom with high end linens. Leather furniture throughout the family room. A fully stocked kitchen with everything you'll need to create a fantastic meal. 2 flat screen HD TV's and Frontier FIOS high speed cable and wireless internet. The bathroom was remodeled with a favorite spa in mind. The walk in shower includes dual rain shower heads, body jets and river rocks to massage your feet. There are hardwood and travertine floors throughout. The second bedroom includes a twin size trundle bed with 2 single mattresses (1 memory foam and 1 spring mattress).

My husband and I currently live bi-coastally - we spend most of the year in Florida and head out to our Manhattan Beach bungalow in the summer. The rest of the year, we like to share our beach pad with other families either relocating to the area, on extended vacations or short business contracts. We are excited about sharing our home with you!

Why Jeanette Ferrera chose Sand Section

Ever since I moved to the South Bay in 1999, I fell in love with it. The locals are fantastic. The lifestyle is perfect. After working all week, I would park my car on Friday and it wouldn't move all weekend. I have great memories of rollerblading on the Strand with my 2 dogs. We would meet up with friends and eat/drink at the local restaurants in downtown Manhattan Beach. The weather couldn't be any better and the beaches are beautiful.

Phenomenally Comfortable accommodations and location

We absolutely loved our stay on Manhattan Beach! A ton to do within walking distance and extremely close to airport and much more that kept us out of the LA traffic. Owner communicated extremely well and very helpful. Has a packet for you that makes it very clear on all passwords and how to everything. We will be back!!

Great spot.

A wonderful old home with heaps of character. Very deco on the outside and updated on the inside. Loved our walks on the strand down to the pier every morning. Jeanette is a lovely host who made everything easy.

Great value and very close to the beach!

I really enjoyed my stay in Jeanette’s unit and as others have commented, one of the best compliments you can give is that the pictures well represent the unit. For those that don’t know the area you’re literally 1 ½ blocks to the beach! Also, even on the crazy weekends there is private parking.

I stayed for almost a week and easily commuted to Santa Monica for business. If you take the backroads ( use WAZE) it was only around 45 minutes in normally heavy traffic hours and I just loved to be able to walk the beach and watch the surfers before work in the early mornings and evening hours! Next time I want to come back just for a straight vacation and really take advantage of being so close to the beach.

I had a wonderfully relaxing stay in a unit that had all the features I expected. I would definitely return in the future and encourage others to consider this as an option and utilize car services if you’re not as comfortable commuting.

Jeanette checked in with me during the visit and for any minor questions I had she was very responsive.

Can't say enough in regards to the cost and value of her property!

Hanging out in Manhattan Beach

The property is old but well maintained. All aspects were completely functional. It must be understood that this a beach community and there will be noise. That said, I'd recommend this to any family for a great California beach vacation.
