Convenient location in the center of Littleton. My wife and I have stayed here several times. The owners and their family are great. I would tell about the cookies and other treats they regularly gave us, but in case don't get them, I'll keep my mouth shut.
The owners understand about keeping their bathroom items to a minimum so guests have room for all our stuff. The washer/dryer in the bathroom was convenient; that's where all the dirty clothes are.
Good bedroom air conditioner, although you probably won't need it.
This house is stocked with everything you need, including all cookware, spices, and supplies.
I'd stay at Kilburn Place again in a heart beat. The owners were very responsive and accommodating. The listing description was accurate. The house had everything we needed. We enjoyed air conditioning in the bedroom (with king size bed) our first night as it was a hot one. We ate breatfasts each morning in the fully equipped kitchen. There was plenty of room for our trailer in the yard. The paved u-shaped driveway made getting in and out easy.
There were renters staying on the floor above us (Kilburn Place Unit #2 - ID 624547). We could hear them moving around. It wasn't a problem, just something to expect when you stay.
The location was perfect. A 15 minute stroll along the river and over a covered bridge brought us to downtown's shops and restruarants. We enjoyed the Chang Thai Cafe so much, we ate dinner there twice. Polly's Pancake Parlor was a 20 minute drive. Hiking for all skill levels in Franconia Notch was a beautiful 20 - 30 minute drive. The property was centrally located for many scenic drives through New Hampshire's White Mountains and Vermont's scenic byway (Route 5).
I'd recommend Kilburn Place to family and friends. I look forward to returning.
My husband and I really enjoyed staying here at the Kilburn Place as a home base to hike and explore the White Mountains. This cozy apartment is walking distance to downtown Littleton (which is adorable!) and is in a good location to get around the White Mountains. Janice is a delight to work with and the house is clean, well stocked and stylish. We are so happy that we found this little gem. Thank you Janice for a wonderful stay, we hope to return!
Stayed at the house in August as a base for a hike into the White Mts. The Kilburn Place is close to town (walk-able) and the Interstate. It was clean, with everything to make our stay our "home away from home", including the claw footed tub for a hot soak after a long hike. As a fellow VRBO owner from Maine, I know it is important for the owner to be available and Janice, who lives across the street, was there with helpful suggestions about Littleton and the area. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AND A BIG THUMBS UP !!
This house (we stayed in unit two) was beyond wonderful. I don't know how Janice did it but everything, I mean everything, was perfect!
We traveled with our two young children (a five year old and a two year old). JANICE LEFT A GREAT LITTLE BOWL OF TREATS (popcorn, teas, candies,etc.). The unit/house was immaculate! We had games and videos we could borrow! There was even small soaps left in the bathroom for us!
The best thing had to be the awesome binder left on the kitchen table with brochures and recommendations for all the great local restaurants, events and things to do!
I would recommend this house to anyone! We will DEFINITELY be back! This place is TRULY a gem!!!!
Perfect gateway to the White Mountains. Very nice little town, with farmers market at the weekend, perfect organic groceries shopping at the food coop also within walking distance, nice restaurants in town center within walking distance. We liked especially the Schilling Brewery with very nice different beers and Pizza plus a nice deck and beer garden to sit outside in summer.
About the appartment:
We stayed at the ground-floor appartment. Everything was perfectly clean and we liked the style of the whole appartment: nice wooden floor, comfortable couch, huge bed, very light and airy atmosphere. The kitchen was very well equiped. Very safe and quite neighborhood.
Our landlord + landlady were very nice and helpful.
We would definitely stay there again.
Don't Forget the Snowshoes!
