I keep returning to this wonderful home which reveals the best of mid-coast Maine in every season of the year. Winter takes on a quiet magic as the light filters through pines and leafless trees across a wide expanse of sea and sky. The possibility of snowfall, passing wild turkey and rabbits, and occasional fog soften the world viewed from within all the tall-windowed rooms. Fireplace, wood stove, vases of flowers, colorful kilims and oriental rugs warm me as much as my mug of soothing mulled tea. The well-appointed kitchen invites me to make hearty meals to enjoy at my leisure! A more perfect way to experience the cooler days I cannot find. Shops in Rockland, galleries, restaurants all open to browse or find that special something to bring back home with me and remind me of the great time I've had here. So now I am about to return again in December to charge my pre-holiday batteries. A great gift I give myself! Thanks to owner Jeanette for always making Sunrise Summit feel like my second home.

Fabulous & Breath taking

  • 5 of 5

WE had the pleasure of staying here! The description is everything and more. Two families were very comfortable with room to spare. The adults each had a room and the children (4) shared rooms. The house was just perfect with a large table for meals. A large living room was comfortable to have evening chats while the kids went off to play games. The views are simply breathtaking. I was up early every morning just to watch the sunrise on the deck. The sunsets were that and even more. And the night sky you felt you could reach up and touch. We loved the location as it was half way between Portland and Bar Harbor. We will definitely visit again.

Beautiful Home, Wonderful Views, Perfect Maine Adventure

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Maine and we could not have asked for more. The views from the home were stunning and we felt at peace and rested there. Everything we needed was there and the kitchen is a delight. The property is well maintained and the photos are spot on with the home's furnishings and views.

The owner suggested many nearby activities which kept us busy and helped us make the best use of our time in Maine. Rockland and Camden are a close drive offering many shops and restaurants. So much to see and do, so little time.

We hope to return and will definitely want to stay here, the home and the owner do not disappoint.

Gorgeous house, spectacular location!

Gorgeous house, spectacular location

We loved our week in Maine, and it was due in no small part to this gorgeous home. Super clean, well appointed and the location was perfect.

5 minutes from a fresh water lake (we swam everyday) and ten minutes from Rockland harbor, and 20 minutes to Camden, we could not have asked for more.

Some huge benefits to the house, amazing view, great deck for outside living, big comfy beds, huge clean bathrooms, and for our family, a super well appointed kitchen. We cooked at home about half of the meals and everything we needed to cook and entertain was right there. Great big grill on the deck didn't hurt either.

Only down side was intermittent cell, so be prepared to be off the cell grid, so to speak, and just enjoy the down time.

Wonderful all-family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had eight adults and one baby filling the house and we all really enjoyed a wonderful week. Everything worked well and was excellent quality. The home itself is very beautiful and the views are spectacular. It is very quiet and peaceful. The description was complete and the photos give an accurate impression of the home. It was really nice not to have ugly, utilitarian furnishings. This home is filled with things you would actually like to live with.

Rockland is a great place to stay for a week's vacation in Maine -- lots of cultural as well as natural attractions. Enjoy!
