Handicapped Access - The cabin was built with an open floor plan. The laundry room is there for your use. There is no smoking inside the cabin. However, you can smoke outside BUT all cigarette butts need to be cleaned up before you leave. The 1st floor bathroom is an extra bathroom. The hot tub is there for your use. Please do not leave trash in the tub or around the outside of the house. Clean up after use. There is plenty of parking in front as you approach the cabin. All garbage must be emptied in the dumpster before departure. If you find any repairs that need attention, we would appreciate it if you would let us know. Please feel free to contact us anytime.

Beautiful Cabin

  • 4 of 5

This was one of our more interesting cabin rentals. We had 13 friends, half couples, half not. The couples all had great rooms on the main and top floor. The bottom floor bedrooms are not as warm and inviting, but it worked out. I could see these rooms working great for kids or young single adults.

The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our breakfasts and dinners and the view is amazing. Keep in mind the nearby mountain resort (Ascutney) is not up and running so if you are planning on going to a ski resort, plan on a 30+ minute drive depending on weather. Also, we highly recommend 4 wheel drive. One person in the group got stuck and was unable to make it up the driveway (their own fault) and we had to help them get their car down to town to stay in a municipal lot over the weekend.

There is so much firewood which was incredibly nice and made it so we have cozy fires every night. Please note there is no internet and everyone in our group who did not have AT&T had no service so if you need internet for anything, check into local places that have wifi. The general store does.

Sherry was helpful when we had an issue with bees inside the house and assured us she would be taking care of the issue. Sherry was extremely nice when I would talk with her on the phone, but is not very communicative over e-mail. So my advice would be to call her if you have any questions about the cabin and she'll be able to help!

How nice of the owners of this property to share their beautiful home with everyone. The house is beautiful. It is a large, authentic log cabin everyone wishes they had. Thank you for a great week without any complications, issues or complaints. Can't wait to book again.

Better than the pictures

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is stunning. You're overwhelmed by the charm of this cabin as you walk in the front door by all the beautiful wood, the decorations - the details. Everyone in our group of 16 was impressed - everyone was comfortable and very spacious. The driveway was steep and windy - do not use any vehicle without 4 wheel/all wheel drive in the winter, but the view at the top from the cabin was just beautiful. It has all the amenities you'd need, and the hot tub and big fireplace were cherries on top. My sister and I want to come back with our family and make this an annual trip for the future. 100% recommend. Thank you, Sherry! - Kristin Abreau

Great views. Loved kitchen gathering space.

  • 4 of 5

Family gathering as we attended a nearby wedding. Nice deck: Beautiful view during day and awesome stars at night. Kitchen/dining open concept worked great for us. We did not cook much, but kitchen seems very complete. Bedrooms were large enough, and mattresses comfortable. No closets in some bedrooms, but closet in front foyer was enough for our wedding clothes. We would stay here again.

Amazing, Beautiful, Incredible

  • 5 of 5

The "cabin" is so much more than just a cabin. My family and I (17) congregated here to celebrate my fathers birthday. From the moment we pulled up to the house we were dazzled by the sprawling accommodations and the amazing views of Mt. Ascutney. The large kitchen/dining area were perfect for preparing large family meals. We enjoyed roasting s'mores in the outdoor fire pit and relaxing in the huge hot tub.

Thank you for a wonderful family getaway!!!

We stayed at the house over the Thanksgiving holiday this year - extended family, including in-laws and children. The house was perfect - enough space for everyone to have their space but still be together. Kitchen was great for cooking such a big meal and table was great for a large group. Hot tub was really nice too! Loved being able to visit the alpaca farm down the road and Woodstock was only about 25 minutes away.

Please disregard the quoted rental price. It is incorrect and I cannot change it. The cabin number is'83' not '85'. The cabin offers an 8 man Jacuzzi, sledding, hiking, walking trails, and snow tubing. You are within walking distance to Brownsville General Store, a gas station, an auto repair shop, a church, a library, a playground, a recreational center, Ascutney Resort. You can ski at Okemo, Killington, Sunnapee and Suicide Six. You can also do snowboarding, horseback riding, snowmobiling, hang gliding, swimming, golfing, museums, shopping in Woodstock, antiquing in Quegee Gorge, and in Weston you can visit the famous 'VT Country Store.' For your convenience we have brochures to area attractions available at the cabin. Star gaze at night whether inside or in the 8 man Jacuzzi. Holiday fireworks, country fairs, race track, Christmas craft shows, downhill bike racing, fly fishing, or just plain relaxing.
