Dawn is a great soul and very proud of this property as she should be. It is gorgeous! This rental has everything you need for a relaxing getaway and then some. We will definitely be back for more tranquility and hospitality!!!! Thank you Dawn for making this trip such a great experience.
My husband and I wanted a little get away and decided to go to Lancaster for a long weekend. I found this property on the VRBO and it was everything we could have hoped for. We only met Dawn (we were out running around seeing all the sites in Lancaster most of the trip) but she was wonderful. Everything you need is there, super clean and beautiful gardens. I highly recommend.
Don't miss this opportunity!
Gracious hosts, thoughtful unexpected touches, and a beautiful garden and view. Take advantage of the offered tour of the area! Absolutely a wonderful experience provided by two exceptional people!
Relaxing Garden Getaway
I 've had this property in my VRBO favorites for some time just waiting for us to take a trip to this area. It was everything expected. What a wonderful place to relax after a day of sightseeing. Just relax and enjoy Dawn's gardens -- yes, the pictures are exactly like the listing. The unit is very comfortable - beds, plenty of linens, everything you would need in the kitchen, etc. Nicely located for a short drive to the Amish area and about 25 miles to Longwood Gardens outside of Wilmington, DE. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Dawn and Herb were excellent hosts. .
Dawn and Herb were so kind and helpful from before we booked the trip through checking out. My husband and I wanted to unplug, rest, relax, and become closer with each other and God for our 10 year anniversary getaway. Fernwood was perfect! Dawn had a welcome and happy anniversary note waiting for us when we arrived, fresh flowers and fruit for us to enjoy, and let us know that she and Herb were available if we needed anything but also gave us plenty of privacy. The gardens were beautiful. My husband and I played the guitar and sang around the campfire in the garden, sat on the loveseat swing reading and talking, rode our motorcycle around the area, and saw an amazing show at Sight and Sound. The apartment has its own entrance so we could come and go as we pleased and it was stocked with basically all the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom necessities we needed. We hope to visit again soon!
A very quiet, peaceful escape in a beautiful area.
This apartment is off of the beaten path and is located on a quiet wooded hillside with a view overlooking Amish farms in the valley below. The apartment doors open onto Fern Wood Gardens, a terraced display of flowers featured in regional garden tours. This is a perfect spot for married couples and young families to enjoy a peaceful vacation.
Nearby features include: Amish country, scenic drives in a pastoral corner of Lancaster County with the summer season offering views of lush farmlands dotted with produce stands selling seasonal produce and baked goods, and outlet shopping in Lancaster and Reading.
Make sure to see the world famous Longwood Gardens, the Brandywine Valley Chanticleer Gardens and Andrew Wyeth Museum. Also many antique shops, the Hershey and Wilbur chocolate factories, and local Amish and Mennonite food and handcraft shops. The city of Reading is just a twenty minute drive away.
There are numerous historic sites of interest such as Valley Forge, Gettysburg, Lititz Moravian, Hopewell Furnace, and Ephrata Cloister. For nature enthusiasts and hikers there is French Creek State Park.
For the children and adults there are amusement parks, hands on museums, and Sight and Sound theater. There is much to see and do for the whole family.
