William Casa Big SKy
About William Casa Big SKy
My wife (Thai) and I (British) are semi retired and now divide our time between homes in Phuket, Thailand (our previous home/business base) and now, chasing the snow, in Big Sky Montana and Farellones, Chile.
William Casa Big SKy purchased this Chalet in 2009
Why William Casa Big SKy chose Big Sky Resort
Quite simply Big Sky is the best, largest and least crowded lift serviced skiing in north America. We had been visiting (and renting) for extended stays for 5 years - and then in late 2009 found prices had become affordable, so purchased. The house is primarily for my wife and I, but when we do not have friends and family visiting, or when we are not in residence, we like to defray operation costs by renting the spaces we are not using.
What makes this Chalet unique
The space and the peace and quiet. Free roaming wildlife - foxes, elk, moose and the occasional bear are our closest neighbors. Yet all this is within ski access (or 3 minutes drive) of two significant resorts.
Max guests:5 (sleeps up to 4 adults)
Local Resort tax of 3% needs to be paid in addition to the 7% State tax that VRBO now collects directly. In total the tax on the booking is 10%.
VRBO has lost control of their website since they started collecting the 7% tax. Sorry!, tiresome for me and you. Thank you for your understanding.
Cancelled bookings will not receive a refund.
Apt review in big sky
The apartment is cozy and in a nice location. I was very glad that no one was occupying the main house above us the week I was there. The only negative is the washer/dryer all-in-one unit. The wash and dry cycle takes 3.5 hours and everything comes out very damp😐. When it’s raining outside, your only choice is to hang your clothes in a rather small living space.
Hi Jenna, Thanks for your kind review. The washer drier should not take that long. I think it is only when you overload the dryer, that you get such long cycle times. Please try with a smaller load next time.
Such an amazing cabin and more than I ever expected! We had an amazing time and already can not wait to get back to Big Sky and we will be sure to stay in this property again.
So glad to know you enjoyed your stay Jenna.
Mountain basement cabin, close to Big Sky
Well equipped, cosy basement apartment in a stunning location, 6 miles outside Big Sky.
Perfect for a family of 4, or 5 and close to Yellowstone Park, hiking, mountain-biking and white water rafting.
Fabulous food in Big Sky. Recommend The Rocks, By Word of Mouth, Horn and Cantle and Toast for lunch.
Location clarification. We are right in the Big Sky Mountain Village ( where you will find winter skiing). Big Sky Meadow Village, better know for shopping, restaurants and summer activities is 6 miles away.
Week of 4th of July in Big Sky
Wonderful place to unwind after summer activities. Great place to hang out if there are people in your group who want to stay in. This lower level apartment would be best suited to a family of 4 or 5 (2 adults and 2/3 children)
We loved our stay at Casa Big Sky! We stayed in the downstairs apartment which was very well appointed with 2 bedrooms, 2 large baths, a kitchen and living/dining area. We found it easy and convenient to ski in/ski out, however if you are a beginner skier, you may have some difficulty with some flat areas. Nevertheless, it is a very short drive to the lift. Highly recommend this lovely property.
Thanks for your comments Marc. I do agree floor novices driving to the lift makes sense ( though for advance skiers not. )
If you do decide to drive to the lift, its worth noting that the car park at Pony Express ( just a half mile away) , is usually empty and you can park just 20 steps from the lift.
A beautifully presented and immaculately maintained property, with everything that a party of skiers could want. we thoroughly enjoyed our week there.
That's good to know Nigel. Hopefully we can see you return next year/
