Why Shari chose North Georgia Mountains

The incredible views from the chalet drew me to the property. The added benefit is that it is in Hiawassee! I am from Atlanta originally and have been all over the North Georgia area and this is the prettiest area with so much to offer. Hiawassee is a quaint up and coming town. Lake Chatuge and layers of mountains surrounds the town with some of the prettiest views I've ever seen. I love the variety of restaurants and shopping. Some of the restaurants are on or overlooking the lake. It's a fun place to be. In the summer you have all the water activities literally 5 min down the road (boating, boat & jet ski rentals, swimming, etc) and close to hiking and several waterfalls. It's just the perfect place in Georgia to get-a-way!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We visited the Chalet in Hiawassee from Sept 21-28 as an escape from the Florida heat. We were not disappointed. We packed a cooler filled with food so we could relax and cook many meals in.

The views from the porch rockers were nothing short of spectacular and changed daily, if not hourly. We enjoyed sipping coffee wearing long sleeves and enjoying the cool morning air.

A hike to the top of Brasstown Bald rewarded us with a 360 degree view of 3 states.

We very much enjoyed our meals at both Michaelee’s and The Chophouse.

Next time we will certainly take trips to the many waterfalls in the area.

We also want to take day trips to Murphy, NC, Blairsville, GA, and lots of other towns.

Overall, the chalet was a very enjoyable & comfortable place to relax and enjoy the first few days of fall. We will definitely be back

The VIEW!

  • 4 of 5

Amazingly beautiful view from dawn to dusk. Sitting and watch the colors change in the big blue sky. Wow, just want we needed.

For the price, this place with a view is good. Not the newest or splashiest cabin but covers the basics. We were there first week of August and only needed the A/C on for a few hours a day. Cool breezes morning and evening. Beds were comfy and most everything worked fine.

Convenient to Hiawassee and many great restaurants. Recommend Happy Hawg for BBQ and Brothers in Young Harris.

Owners were super easy to work with.

The VIEW is amazing and probably the best view you'll find at this price, but I see why the price point was low. It's not been renovated in a long while. So have realistic expectations. First world problems...

Only real gripe is that the DVD player didn't work.

Really enjoyed our time and relaxed. We'd consider going back again!

The most amazing view!

  • 4 of 5

You can look at the pics all day but nothing compares to seeing it in person. It's heavenly. Really the reason we picked the place. It was clean and comfortable. Only drawl back was it was just the upstairs so if you have little ones or elderly they might have a problem. The yard had very pretty flowers. The kitchen was well equiped. We cooked on the gas grill a few times. We visited a few winerys in the area. Swam in the lake. Took a hike to a waterfall where he proposed to me. Definitely the highlight of our trip. I would choose this place in the future.

Gorgeous view!

  • 4 of 5

This cabin has the most gorgeous views of Lake Chatuge and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The pictures are very accurate. The views can be seen inside from the kitchen and living room. The deck is inviting with chairs and a swing and provides the best views. On both nights of our stay, we saw fantastic sunsets. The last night was the most beautiful sunset we have ever seen. The cabin has everything you need for your stay and is located near Hiawassee for shopping needs.

Very good

  • 4 of 5

Very well equipped cabin. The cabin had everything we needed to make our own meals. Wish there was more seating and would be uncomfortable if we had more people, but it was perfect for the hubby and I.

Great location with nearby grocery store and gas station. Although there wasn't my h to choose from restaurant wise, there was a couple good places nearby we enjoyed.

Beautiful view!

  • 5 of 5

The chalet was a perfect place to call home for a few days. The views in the morning and at night are spectacular and well worth the money! The kitchen was loaded with all utensils and cooking gear to easily cook in a home environment. The wood burning stove added a nice rustic charm. We look forward to returning in the future.
